it is really impressive to see someone so passionate about helping others through the college apps process especially when you've already completed it yourself and could supposedly be up to other bigger things in your life. thank you for your incredibly helpful efforts, Dyllen!
Stanford apps are due tomorrow... 😂😂I'm currently finishing up writing my short questions and the info and the way you present has been so helpful for me! Thanks!
This video is so good! Been subbed since the beginning but recently came back to you and this video is easily better than most college essay tips of tricks. Taking risk will pay off.
Yes you are right and I didn’t know this when I filmed the vid lol. I recommend following the advice from the other short takes. Be specific about what you did and gained from it rather than spending all your word count on the name of the program/activity!
Short but specific. Cram as much stuff you do in it and I advise not to write blandly. Be creative, specific, short and true to you. An admission officer will be surprised.
Dyllen Nellis they actually got rid all of them except the “significant challenge”, “excited for at stanford”, “historical moment”, and “last 2 summers”! And they actually shrunk the extracurricular one to 50 words and added it to be a stanford specific short answer (which from what I believe, it was a supplement that would be sent to almost all the colleges along with the common app essay). Really shocking haha

Aw thank you so so much!! 💖💖💖
My take on the extracurricular essay: don't talk about what it is. Talk about who you are in it.

Ooooh do you have a video on art portfolios for college admissions (advice, what your pieces should include, etc)
I have art portfolio videos based on the school because they’re all different! I have vids on the Stanford art portfolio, UCLA DMA, and USC IYA.
Your video inspired to start writing a lot of practice essays
Sounds great!!

@@DyllenNellis Ah ok cool! Just making sure people lurking the comments were informed B)
Stanford has deleted 2 prompts this year, hasn't it?
Yes I’ve been corrected! Some of the short answers have been cut out.
The extracurricular essay is only 50 words - do you have any tips on fitting it in while still being creative?
Only 50 words this year* it wasn’t before
