Nice guide! One thing I like to do is sip a potion at the end of the kill if I have one. The stamina effect persists out into the main world and let’s me do a quick lap around priff to try to snag any crystal imps roaming around. Gives a nice breather between kills and you might get lucky and get a signet.
Thanks for the guide, XP Lampie :D I had been trying to regular gauntlet purely on my own without using guides or plug-ins. I died a lot in the beginning but then I got the hang of it. Kept playing until I was comfortable. I got 18 completions and 7 failed ones. But then today I tried the Corrupted Gauntlet and I got my ass handed to me. I watched this guide to get an understanding of what to reach for in terms of gear and inventory. And then on the second attempt I actually beat it! Holy shit, I did not expect to beat it at all because I scuffed up. I went for the tier 2 armour. I got 2 dragon minibosses that gave me a spike as a secondary but I had already made a basic bow. I forgot to pick up a new weapon frame too, so had to run back to the dragon to get one, made a spear and staff Perfected and managed to get enough food. Thanks for giving me the knowledge I needed to beat The Corrupted Gauntlet!
One thing every guide I have seen hasn't mentioned is that if you happen to run into back to back demi-boss rooms of the same combat style, you can kill the first one and pickup the item then kill the second and it will drop one of the remaining two weapons. This ensures the next boss you kill will drop the third combat style as well. Example - you run into back to back bears, kill one pickup the spike, kill the second it drops the orb. You find another demi-boss room and it happens to be a dragon, kill the dragon and it will drop the bowstring.
Just started learning gauntlet last weekend. None of the other guides recommended t2, so I assumed it wouldn't be feasible in corrupted. Glad to see it can be done. I've only tried 6 corrupted and it really is a pain to learn. I've enjoyed my time there and your guides have helped me a ton in the past. Hoping this one will get me my first corrupted.
Definitely keep pushing to do Tier 2, it makes the fight MUCH easier (though still hard ofc) I failed 30 times in a row doing T1 armor, and after trying T2 I killed it 10 times in a row. Keep with the T2 method my guy
The Hunllef Helper plugin is also super useful for learning how to count when the player will switch prayer, it's narrated by Purp and takes one less stressor away while learning the fight
Very handy guide, never knew about the safe tiles near the end. Also, knowing experienced folks who are 4:1 on kill death ratio to the boss still have issues at max stats helps put it in perspective. Seeing people who are insane able to do it no sweat with low stats when you're struggling can really leave you in the dumps lol
As another iron who doesn't have rigour or augury, taking the time for t2 armor is an insane boost to completion rates when you're trying to get the hang of this. It's honestly unreal how much more comfortable the Hunllef kills feel when you do get that set up. Learning how to use the halberd is also a huge boost to success rates, because if your account is at prif you probably have piety unlocked. Piety and halberd slaps, much more reliable than the bow without rigour from my personal experience.
@@stevenboddy4232 It takes a bit of time, learning how tornados move and track you is pretty important. Easiest way is to just run away from the tornadoes while you're learning it without mixing in hits. But, once you get a bit more comfortable, you can run away a bit, then click hunleff to attack and drag your character around the tornados, back off, click boss, back off, click boss, and repeat. Just takes good timing. There's also a few tiles that never turn "hot" during phase three, learning to stand on the ones around the boss during downtime makes Hally a lot easier.
@@Bootedful on specifically phase 3 (which is what I mentioned), there are exactly 8 tiles that never turn hot. They are in line with the doorway on all sides, 3rd tiles in and side by side. Trust me, after 300+ runs on my iron in the last month or two using them without fail, I know for sure they never turn hot. I've watched youtubers and streamers confirm it as well, people with thousands of kc that pet hunt.
I got 11 kills only with t2. Earlier this week I got 9 kills in one night last night got one and failed a lot haha. But if I don’t get t2 I basically get killed by the damage that goes through pray in a slowish death haha. Today I predict victory but it’s a rollercoaster of emotions🤦♀️💩
Dude.. im having a hard time. Im not crazy skilled at OSRS, im definitely more of an afk guy (i still havent gotten zulrah down) since im so busy IRL. But i like jad/vorkath/TOA. I can only do low invocation on TOA, so Im gonna try to use this guide to help me with Gauntlet. I play about 2-3 hours of mobile a week and 1-4 hours of pc osrs a week so its hard for me to pickup yhese intense skills. Wish me luck on my next 2 goals: bowfa and a pet.

i run it without rigor or augury, no problems. started at 85 range, 82 magic, and 75 defense. 1600+ kc now. Counting to 4 is incredibly useful. allows you to switch prayers immediately and keeps you out of some stressful situations
I think it would be useful to show an example run of t2 as well. I do the c but I also open up the other rooms to check to see if there are any resources. I usually also like to have closer to 400 shards coming back to the start. That honestly probably slows me down but I like to make my t2 armor if I can before fighting the demi bosses because it is a dps boost.
you use vengeance before going in and youll still have the effect. tbh it seems pretty pointless because you arent gonna facetank one of the outer bosses so at most youll get like... 7 free damage once per gauntlet? seems silly lol
Yes, corrupted is guaranteed one 3x fish spot in the middle 3x3, rest are 'random' aside from boss tiles Normal I think has a guaranteed resource tile of each type around hunleiff, but no guaranteed fish
Bro this has massive dungeoneering vibes. Except this time you get punished for not going through the rooms fast which is so different than how I played dungeoneering. I would explore every room and try to do everything because unlocking every room was always a good flex 💪🚬

nah. dungeoneering is way more fleshed out. Gauntlet is just the same boss where you do the same prep everytime. It's just random rooms while doing it.
ah damn it, two attempts and both times got hunlleff down to 150hp, on the first run I tried to make the whole tier 2 armor set in one go, ran out of shards (no weapon) and caused a lot of time loss -> didnt get much food. Second attempt I didn't pick up my second weapon frame because I thought I already had two, made me lose a lot of time and because of it I went into the fight with 8 of my fish still uncooked. I have lvl under lvl 90 in all my combat stats so I'm wondering how much that effects the difficulty, seems like one mistake is enough to cause me to fail
did normal for a couple hours, started getting perfect hunllef kills a lot so tried one more cg and managed to do it, 14th attempt overall. Did hunllef perfectly except for a couple stomps, but never got chanced and had 8 fish left over, I guess I just had very bad rng on the previous cg attempt.
bought arcane prayer scroll and leveled to 77 prayer, augury helps a TON with hunllef. First completion after getting augury, 6kc in total, enhanced crystal weapon seed :) I've changed my mind, I love cg
Quick tip, your gathering skills don't actually effect your gathering rate for resources, nor does spam clicking the fishing spots. Common misconception

Good guide as usual, noone else covers the fact that you can upgrade food which is weird. one thing that is not accurate is about fishing spots around huntleaf, theres not always a 3 sPot or any fishing sPots for that matter. I lose 40% of the time because after checking 10+ rooms, no fishing spots have spawned or theres literally 1, and about 50% of the time because no mini bosses sPawn or the same miniboss spawns in every room after checking 3 sides of maP, so to only lose 10% of the time due to my own abilities is a joke. which again highlights the severe issue with how big of a factor rng is in this minigame. Personally i think CG is extremely Poorly designed. You should never have a game thats based on both RNG and skill. It should be one or the other. so for that reason i dont bother with it as it tilts me to no end.
you cant get two of the same upgrade from demi-bosses, if you find 2 bears, the first will drop the spike and the other will drop one of the two remaining ones
dude, you've made my feelings known. i am ok with RNG but i am not ok with stupid RNG (i checked 13 room for single bark tree for t1 armor). random room generation is generating rooms toooo randomly lol.
Im sorry, but this prep time is complete bs. I go sometimes 8 rooms without seeing a mini boss. I’m not interested in doing this boss if I can’t even get to it with t2 armor. 40 attempts, 2 completions, this is made for the top tier players, if you average, don’t attempt it. Stick to regular gauntlet. The boss itself is absolutely doable, but you will go in way too often with not enough food, only time to kill 1 mini boss, not enough shards to build everything you want.
I attempted this with T1 armor maybe THIRTY times, and almost always had full food, and never got a kill Since trying T2 armor I've killed it 10 times in a row, no deaths (and a handful of "failed" runs due to bad luck with rooms). T2 is a walk in the park, I would recommend T2 over T1 100% of the time. T1 shouldn't be done unless you're maxed combat and already know the fight inside and out and never make mistakes.
Ok I appreciate the reinforcement in trying to help us but if we are doing corrupt… it’s likely we know all about these so why is the first 3 - 4 mins just recap
Guys whoever tells you you can get tier 2 everytime is bullshitting you. You would have to have serious luck with resources, Just stick with tier 1. people who get tier 2 suck at bossing

I did about 90% of my runs with t2 armor, would definitely recommend, makes prep a bit more difficult but Hunllef is so much more chill.

Another great plugin is Hunlef Helper, has a timer and audio que on when you need to switch prayers.
10/10 guide goes over plugs. Use this guide. I did this on the OG client before the animation was added it wasn't easy. Going to be much easier now.

Has anyone else had multiple runs where none of the rooms immediately surrounding hunpuppy had 3 fishing spot rooms? Is that a corrupted only thing?

Just finished sote no brew no phoenix necklace ironman lol fight got intense when i ran out of supplies. Rng was in my favor after 36 attempts

25 fish, full t2 armor, t3 halberd + t3 staff. died when Hunlleff was at 400hp, like 2/5 of my attacks actually hit, I'm going back to regular

sometimes if you dont spam click the first few ticks of a fishing spot itll just do the animation and fish up nothing forever

I have a mouse that has 12 buttons on the side for my thumb. I have those buttons mapped to F keys which makes switching in OSRS so easy....
