Excellent hack and upgrade! Have MIL to additionally try using a helmet (mounted) light. The light tracks where she is looking, not the direction that the wheel is pointed. This is an amazing improvement. Much better visual information = much safer.
Great video mate! You covered almost all aspects. I wish you had also measured the total DC voltage output without any load attached. Optionally, a 1000uF capacitor would condition the output to a slightly brighter light/ reading.

Question, could you please share a link to for instance aliexpress for the components required, this lens, power led and bridge rectifier + condensator are hard to find as the specs are not known to me. Also using a resistor and a zener diode wold be a good idea to limit the voltage, or you can use a transistor current follower but in this case i believe you might need a full bridge rectifier it depends on the Frequency you have and the capacitor value you also have

I damaged this light because i converted it to direct battery system because the dynamo was not working properly but i connected the light to the laptop charger which damaged it and not turning on ,it was working perfectly with direct battery
Just a quick tip for cleaning brass and copper contacts, use a pencil eraser that way you just polish it up and remove the oxidation layer.

I did want to put a larger capacitor in, but I couldn't fit it inside, it's really tight for space!

Any bridge rectifier will work here, it's not high power so not critical.

I'd say the 19-ish volts of the laptop charger was too much for the 3v bulb.
Maybe just a replacement bulb is needed.
