Great vids. My and my wife are just getting into Shibari. My only critique is when explaining different steps if you could go a bit slower so I can try and process what I’m doing. For example in the video at 3:04 when you said “that bite” there was an edit in the video when the rope moved from around your fingers to in your hand and halfway through that step. It took me rewatching it a few times to figure out what happened. Aside from little things like that your content is among the best I have been able to find and we really appreciate it a lot.
I've always used leather resytraints for the ease and relative safety. Due to partner requests, did a search and found your vid. I found it informative and helpful. Thumbs up.
Thank you for this instructional. With some practice I hope to be able to perfect these rope restraints. This is helpful and well explained, and your voice is great sounding and calm. Cheers !
I was looking for Tutorials on tying knots to better restrain the tarp over my dad’s fishing boat falling a storm that tore one section of it away, only to find a tutorial I’d been searching for years earlier and eventually gave up ever finding!! I’m so glad UA-cam seeded this video into my search feed because I would have never thought to try and look again for tutorials on a D/s skill I’d always wanted to learn but never had someone to teach me. I will definitely be looking into your channel to see what else you have available! Also I wanted to share, because it made me giggle 🤭 quite a bit when you had mentioned it in your video. You’d said that a person’s hands are too big to slip back through the wrist restraints, even if you left 1-2 fingers of a gap for circulation. I’d gone to a show once about 30 years ago and because I was friends with someone that was friends with the woman who was apart of the show I got to talk to her and while talking I told her the same thing I’m going tell you. “I’m really impressed with everything in your show! I’d love to learn how to do it all one day! But how do you Safely deal with some that is able to wiggle their hands out of the restraints?” As you could imagine, she - like you most likely believe - laughed softly and patted my shoulder as she said: “It’s really not something that’s problematic, as even the smallest person’s hand is bigger than their wrists.” Which is very much like you had said in your video in fact. She was confident in this belief. Then I told her: “Well then, I guess there’s a first time for everything and it’s a very good thing I’m not a sub otherwise bondage would have no appeal for me.” Of course She wanted to see for herself and then ended up being an escape artist for the next few hours to prove I could in fact pull my hands out of every one she put me in. The only ones I could not get out of were the ones that were skin tight, but those were only done to prove I couldn’t get out of it more than the fact she would or has ever used them before. The reason I can do this? Is quite simple really, once I collapse my thumb into the palm of my hand, the rest of my hand is nearly the same size of my wrist and it only takes a minimum amount of manipulation of my hands to wiggle them through whatever is trying to restrain me. So I pose to you the same question I did to her, though unfortunately I never got the chance to find out if she ever actually discovered an answer to my question (as she didn’t know so the time I posed it. “How would you go about providing the sub with the same release that comes from knowing they are securely restrained no matter how much they may wiggle their hands and fingers, while also providing them and yourself a safe environment to play in; when the one being tied down is technically able to get out of restraints around the hands?”

So there are a lot of video's about taking the rope and securing a wrist or ankle or pair of them and give you a lead to secure somewhere, what's sorely lacking is instructions on how to secure that lead at the other end to various different hardpoints, I get it, the body part is the fun sexy part. But being safe is knowing knots that makes ure your rope come loose at the other end as well. Perhaps you could take up the gauntlet on that as well. Thanks for doing what you do!
Rope beginner here. I am well aware that safety is an important part of bondage (as is too in BDSM) and thus, while I'm trying some basic knots and ties, im reading a lot about safety. I watched this video just after reading an article on danger zones and the mentioned resting rope in the nook between your arm and writs bones is not advisable. I've noticed you put the ropes there in the single column cuffs. I've tried the first type of cuff, being careful not to tighten too much and having enough room to fit fingers through, but i still felt a slight discomfort on the radial nerve area. How would you avoid this/make it completely safe? Any tips on these cuffs for beginners? Really informative video btw
Nothing is completely safe. Not in life and especially not in bondage. It sounds like you are making all the efforts to ensure the area has enough to breathe and to stop impingement/tightening but some bodies take on the stress differently. An area, even a danger zone can be impacted but the goal is to steer it away from there. Sometimes you are gonna get a little bit of it but even if you do, your body is capable of enduring a lot. What is important is to constantly communicate and monitor areas that might be impacted. It is a difficult job to try and teach a few things in this field and I do what I can but there will never be full safety 🖤
@@RorysBrainworks hey Rory thanks for such a fast and detailed reply. I tried the single columns today again with even less pressure and with more wrap arounds to support the writs better and it worked wonders. No pain at all. I tried all three without looking at the vid and turned out great. Also tried the first type of double column and i also tied it the other way around a couple of minutes ago and it was really nice and fluid. Im so glad i found your channel, man. Thank you for your content
Hey Rory, can you do a tutorial that features safe methods and harnesses when someone is pregnant ? Might be useful... After all, maybe there are certain places you shouldn't tighten or knot in case it cuts off vital blood supply to the placenta...
I would not be comfortable doing something like that without doing supremely extensive research. I use to do pre-natal massage and there was a million things to worry about with that I can only imagine the headache with pre-natal bondage.
this is the first ever vid i´m watching from you and bro, your vibe is just *chefskiss* im happy youre making these tutorials, ive been looking for smth like this :D
I like this version - lots of great variety! Did some of the bloopers/extra scenes end up in this on purpose? I could swear I heard a couple takes/bloopers in the section on the Larkshead double cuff where the same line was repeated.
So happy I came across your channel. I love the way you make sure you push the point of safety and it all being consentual. Your info is great. Love your channel the most by far! Thank you.
Thank you very much! I'm completely new to this all and your videos help me a lot. Not just the doing but it also calms me down from the negative image this has in some people's minds and truth be told still in mine as well if that makes sense, English is not my first language. Anyway love how you explain it, even though my brain is very slow when it comes to knots so I watched it like 10 times and pausing it 20 times before finishing the first one 😂❤
Absolutely love the cuffs tutorial! One question tho: I tried doing the second single bare cuff and I noticed that the rope was dangerously close to my wrist nerves, especially with the braid pushing into my palm. I dunno if thats common with beginners but is there a way to bring the rope down the forearm to prevent it?
It does seem like a tightness issue. However, it could also be your physiology. If you try it again with a mind for keeping it looser on your wrist and it is comfortable then that is good. If not, then this tie might not be right for your body and it is good to know that info. It is important to understand how your body works. I haven't had previous models or even myself have the same problem. Might just be your unique body and that is perfectly fine 😊🖤
I loved this video! The Single Column Braded Cuff is amazing, seems like it could take quite a bit of weight and still be comfortable. One point that could be improved is slightly changing how you finish the cuff. If you pass the rope immediately under then over the bundle of rope around the hand (instead of over then under like you did) and finish the knot it makes the knot flatter and the trailing rope go away from the arm. It also makes it easer to undo the knot if they strained against it. The way you did it is still great if you want to lead it back down the arm for a ladder or hitches. Amazing vid!
I swear to god google is listening to my conversations. I start talking about BDSM and I've seen looked up the topic on youtube or google in general and now they reccomend the video wtf.😂😂

Personality Insight Consideration Consent Trained Simplified First vid out of curiosity. Thanks for these aspect that contribute to an amazing experience
Comfort of the model. Tightness. Restraints don't have to be extra tight unless the particpants want it to be. Which is on RACK. All you want with restraints is to ensure that the foot or hand can't pass through the hoke and you can tie them to something to restrain movement. Areas around the wrist and ankles are dense with vessels, nerves, tendons, ligaments, and muscles. But, we as humans, have developed a technique to notice when those are in danger and that is called 'pain.' 😆 Keep in contact, look for signs of undue constriction like adema, swelling, discolorization and lower temperatures. Hands and feet can endure these things for up to two hours but that isn't the goal. Communication is key.
Thank you, I am an erotic writer and this current story I’m writing , I have watched videos on safety, and rope styles and knots, will be putting a warning in my story to let readers know that they must follow safety guidelines when using rope play, very helpful in learning, also I have bought rope so now I can practice too.
Hi Rory! I've been watching your content for a little over a year, but I just got my first rope from KHN today! It came coiled beautifully but in my excitement to unwind it, I didn't think to figure out how to redo it.... Would you do a tutorial on winding a rope for storage so it looks pretty? I've been following paracord tutorials, but it doesn't quite translate...
The incongruence of the soothing piano background music while singing, "We're going down and around and back up this way..." 🤣 Not complaining, though... I find it entertaining.
That would require cinches to undo and tighten and we don't want those around our sensitive bits. Also, tying is half the fun. Its all about the antici-..............-pation.

I tried all three without looking at the vid and turned out great. Also tried the first type of double column and i also tied it the other way around a couple of minutes ago and it was really nice and fluid. Im so glad i found your channel, man. Thank you for your content
I only ever did bondage with the velcro cuffs. This tutorial is definitely a great help, since rope is something I'd really want to try and do. 😀
@@RorysBrainworks yeah I figured that would be the case 🙂 thanks for responding ! 😊
this is the first ever vid i´m watching from you and bro, your vibe is just *chefskiss* im happy youre making these tutorials, ive been looking for smth like this :D
I like this version - lots of great variety! Did some of the bloopers/extra scenes end up in this on purpose? I could swear I heard a couple takes/bloopers in the section on the Larkshead double cuff where the same line was repeated.
11:35 is where it starts (just if you end up wanting to check)
@@kailiia Knowing Rory, editor-Rory decided to do that for a joke at recording-Rory's expense :P
New computer had a difficult time with this vid for a multitude of reasons. Should be resolved for next one 😊
I dont log in and drop comments very often, but you my dude are a bad ass teacher!
So happy I came across your channel. I love the way you make sure you push the point of safety and it all being consentual. Your info is great. Love your channel the most by far! Thank you.
I'm glad UA-cam is recommending this to me
I love your tutorials!...so easy to follow, thank you. I'd love to see more self-tie tutorials...please 😉
This was incredibly helpful and beautifully filmed. Thanks so much!
Found this while going down a bondage and Shibari rabbit hole, and this is actually really interesting!
Glad you enjoyed! 😊
Thank you for adding this info
Amazing tutorial! I love the way you showcase everything. I was able to follow along and it is pretty amazing. Keep up the amazing work!
Oh, and I found that "woven cuff" to be fascinating. Had never seen that before, and I've enjoyed practicing how to tie it.
I really like the variations you have here. I had seen a few before that stopped and didn't tie off as securely. Also faralle noodles. Lol
Thank you so much! 😊🖤
WHEN I SAW WHAT YOUR SHIRT WAS, I ACTUALLY GASPED. Love TBDM so much, I even have them tattooed to my chest! Def getting my subscribe now
I swear to god google is listening to my conversations. I start talking about BDSM and I've seen looked up the topic on youtube or google in general and now they reccomend the video wtf.😂😂
well, you're not so wrong... not to be a tinfoil hat, buuuut the conspiracy guys who said every human will be microchipped were correct thanks to the modern cellphone.
@@ethandye8764 yeah and I'm starting to believe I mean seriously what are the odds that I mentioned this topic and I get a video recommendation about it even though I NEVER looked up anything on google about it. Great video though😂😂
@@kacperw7201 99% of all apps on a phone do have default permission to use the camera and microphone that is the 'Spy/surveillance' mechanism used by them to provide targetted ads. you can deactivate them in app settings. dont forget to restrict apps from changing your phone settings. APPS have too much power to take over ones life and thats not an exaggeration 🙂
i like watching these vids as it gives me ideas of things to try on myself
lol i literally asked about this on another vid like an hour befor u posted it lol
Always been interested and now going to take the plunge and buy my first rope
I must admit that this appeared on my recommended for a good reason

Are there any particular things to keep in mind when aplying these restraints to the ankles?
Comfort of the model.
Tightness. Restraints don't have to be extra tight unless the particpants want it to be. Which is on RACK. All you want with restraints is to ensure that the foot or hand can't pass through the hoke and you can tie them to something to restrain movement.
Areas around the wrist and ankles are dense with vessels, nerves, tendons, ligaments, and muscles. But, we as humans, have developed a technique to notice when those are in danger and that is called 'pain.' 😆
Keep in contact, look for signs of undue constriction like adema, swelling, discolorization and lower temperatures. Hands and feet can endure these things for up to two hours but that isn't the goal. Communication is key.
@@RorysBrainworks thank you!
Fantastic video, first I’ve seen from you but immediately subscribed. Incredibly friendly, informative, and well paced.
"Weirdly"? Nah, we dun kinkshame here, Crochet Rory
Thank you for these videos I have always been wanting to learn Shibari and my wife has encouraged me to give it a try. Thank you so much again

Thank you, I am an erotic writer and this current story I’m writing , I have watched videos on safety, and rope styles and knots, will be putting a warning in my story to let readers know that they must follow safety guidelines when using rope play, very helpful in learning, also I have bought rope so now I can practice too.
Welp gotta learn for special occasions
wow the way you discribe this is awsome, it really helped my making some nice good knots. thanks alot for this!
I saw a bondage tutorial and now I can't stop
I’m quite happy that I found your channel, my partner and I have been wanting to try this safely as possible
I'll surely see what I can do 😊
The incongruence of the soothing piano background music while singing, "We're going down and around and back up this way..." 🤣 Not complaining, though... I find it entertaining.
Oh good 😆
Is there a tie that can stay to the bed post and we just wiggle the wrists and ankles in.
That would require cinches to undo and tighten and we don't want those around our sensitive bits. Also, tying is half the fun. Its all about the antici-..............-pation.
@@RorysBrainworks do I sense an RHPS reference?
I love this relaxing background music!
Yes, it's very calming! I'd love to know what exactly it is.
It says wrist and ankle, but I don't see an ankle, I understand the double columns can work on the ankles, but what about single column ankle?
Single column ankle is a different beast I will cover
I’m learning so much but I’m also mesmerized by the process. 😍
But why is this on my recommendation
Not sayin i oppose this
Just saying this is rather strange
The 3rd restraint is incredible. If you need to control your brat (sorry fellow brats) it works beautifully. I type this with my ankles tied together.
