- In this video I take the Conch 27 for a sea trial in rough conditions. It's blowing over 30 knots out of the North East and I go over how the boat is running and drifting. I also review the 2022 Suzuki DF 300, including gallons per hour, cruise range and wide open throttle.
Nice rundown, thanks for posting.
Given the condition of the seas, they are real nasty. Your the only boat out there and appear quite calm in those conditions which tells me you have 100% faith in the Conch build quality. A real tight, strongly built boat. About time there was a real world test drive of a 27 footer in a snot soup ocean. Cudos to you bro!!!
Thanks!
Awesome boat. If you dont mind me asking how much does a bare hull run?
Your series on your Conch 27 was very informative not many videos out there on the Conch brand. Will you be doing a video on the build process with the Conch factory? Specifically how you ordered the boat as a barebones hull and why? How was the experience dealing with the factory? Build time? Did you visit the factory? The "Approximate" cost? Did you consider their 25 bay?
I did visit the factory twice but I did not film the build, I do have some pictures of the process. They are built in Stuart, FL by R&R Boatworks. Call them and ask for Matt who is the owner. I also worked with Mike who was very helpful and answered all my questions. Build time was 14 months. I never considered the 25 bay. The 27 is the boat to have for what I do. The 27 is more versatile as it can fish inshore and offshore, a bay boat would not work for me.
