SCARLET REBEL YOUR GRANDMOTHER NEEDS TO PULL DOWN YOUR PANCE AND WHIP YOUR BEHIND FOR TRYING TO BREAK ONE OF THE 10 COMMANDMENTS ON THE BATTLEFIELD.WELCOME TO THE REAL CIVIL WAR ERA.😂😂😂
I always like the fife and drum 🥁.... Good tunes. My home state host the NMLRA National Spring Shoot. Starting in a few days. In a place called Friendship, Indiana. 9 days long event. It’s good to see some young guys doing history events. Keeps it going. Thanks 😊
The Girl I left behind is one of my favorites and it's perfect for marching to. Heck, during the Mexican-American War, many regiments were marching off to Mexico singing as they marched and the Mormon battalion actually sang it when they marched off to Fort Leavenworth.
We already have a Brass Band version and lyrical version of “To Arms in Dixie,” on the channel! If I catch a Fife and Drum jam of the song, I’ll be sure to film it.
I met the man in the light grey kepi and the man with the curly mustache at the daniel lady farm event, I also got to play with them, although I didn’t know many of the songs that they played so I had to mostly play by ear.
DUDE YOU WERE AT BLALKELY?!? NO WAY. Didn’t know I had a fellow authentic as part of the community! Would love to attend that event for 1865. Two years…. I certainly agree regarding field music, and have seen the musicians at that event. It absolutely adds a whole other dimension, which is vital.
I recently joined a reenacting unit as a drummer, I have Bruce and Emmet's Fife and Drum Guide but are there any other books/sources you would recommend for learning songs like this???
You have come to the eight place, my friend! Please just drop me a line at historyboyhb@icloud.com and I shall send you all the materials you will need! That of a musician is a fantastic period role. WELCOME TO THE HOBBY!
Wish we could still hear stuff like this on the battlefield

The battlefield has grown ridiculously busy and violent. If only there were time for fife and drum.
It certainly was always busy and violent… the field music had a very unique place.
Cool! Appreciate this living rendition! Well done to these fellas!

I got to meet a few of these fantastic musicians at the 160th of Gettysburg
I am so pleased to hear that! Please share some of your stories.

We had some great musicians at Blakely this year it makes the experience much more real at least for myself.
