Man this is exactly the time that I needed a video like this. Looking at picking up a 7MGTE Supra and have been grinding through ecu videos. Any major changes with the 7MGTE and a base map like this vs the 1JZ/2JZ? Appreciate the content I know you'll blow up soon!!
@@RabidJz Awesome please do!! The motor may not be a Jz but its something to get me out of the Subaru world which is all I'm really looking for. And just to clarify your talking about having to convert from a Distributor to a Coil pack? Shouldn't be too bad the GTE series CPS isn't the distributor so it should be standalone and not too much of a headache to swap out. Will need to do some more research though. I like the style of your ecu videos a lot more then others I've watched. Most people either spend way too much time going over non-relevant or obvious information and everything is very right to the point on your videos. Appreciate it a lot!
Love your videos man. I am building a 1JZgte frs, I’m going with Ecu masters black I think. Would you say that’s a good choice?? I feel it’s pretty simple to use
You should make a new video maybe going more in depth and covering other things and what you’ve learned over the past several months. I’m trying to learn to understand my tune and make my own modifications but it is tough!
@@RabidJz I second this. I've been reading and learning tuning courses but still enjoy this video as how straight up it is. should definitely consider doing more videos. from scratch base maps, or tuning, or basic altercations post-and-Pre-Startup etc. can't wait to see the content. PS I hope the car gets back up soon for great content
Hey so I have a 1jz vvti, 720cc injectors and on my warmup table, seems like I can only get it to idle on all 6 holes if I set the value to 200ish. Seems pretty high from the 105 base that I started. I also am running the ecu master base map. This sound normal or am I out to lunch?
Helpful video. 👌 Are you aware if this will support an automatic transmission? Looking for the solution to my combination of a 2jzgte non vvti and A340E. Appreciate your time an any advice.
Hey Rabid! I could really use your help and some clarity. I have a base map from for the emu classic. My trigger angle is 66. At idle my ignition map is at 20 degrees. My engine is at 0 degrees timing. Does that mean I have to adjust my trigger angle to 86?
@@RabidJz Thanks for the quick reply and the info! I just want to be extra cautious playing with the ignition timing. You have a subscriber. These videos have really helped me so far. Thanks a lot
Bro such a good video, I know is a bit old, but still making its magic, I'm running EMU black, for some reason at idle it goes to 23 Degrees of IGN Angle, is that normal ?
my gahd yes! someone is actually going through these ECUs.. :O question! :) So when running ONLY E85(background; doing a turbo E85 on my VW VR6 engine and trying to do it all by myself).. Switch to "FlexFuel Blend" and then ONLY use the #2 tables?.. if this is true maybe my baby will start soon... xD
Awesome content dude! Just started a little 2j build for my truck and I'm leaning towards the black for the ecu. How's your R154 holding up? I'm shooting for about 500hp, hoping mine holds up.
Hey @TheRabidRb, what you showed seemed pretty basic, so that same setup apply for other ECU's as well? Judging by the panels that showed up, it looked like Haltech, AEM, and others have that similar configuration... Is it that simple?
Is there a way to change the MAP values to read in vaccum and boost instead of in atmospheric pressure like you said? I'm reading 4.5psi at idle and it really throws me for a loop lol
You never covered prime pulse. Am i right in thinking prime pulse is used to squirt a small amount of fuel into the cylinders to saturate the walls the appropriate amount, cranking fuel is the amount injected when cranking to actually get her fired up? Mine sometimes has a little cough and splutter before it catches but then once she's properly alive the revs whip right up and shes all good
@@RabidJz ive actually gone the opposite way and been increasing prime pulse when i probably need a bit more cranking fuel. I'll give that a try, it should give me a stronger start 👍
Rabid, you seem like a helpful guy, have you got any tips on how you set your accel enrichments? Ive got an issue where if i press the throttle suddenly from idle i get a hesitation and possible misfire. My log shows flatline lean which can apparently be caused by a misfire which allows oxygen to make it through and give a false lean reading. I've tried fiddling with the dTPS rate and TPS factor but can't seem to get it any better or even worse. No change. If i hold the revs at 1500 or so and then give a sudden press its fine. Any thoughts?
Make sure when your throttle is all the way shut, that the tps % is at 1 on emu. In order to see, pull up the tps gauge in the gauges selections, and turn the tps till it says 1%
Hi, how did you get your MAP sensor load in the table to be displayed in psi instead of kPa? EDIT: Nvm found it. Click settings icon on the toolbar at the top -> Units -> Imperial

@@RabidJz thank you fro the surprisingly fast response. We're just starting the tuning on my 2ZZ-GE Lotus and we aren't getting any throttle body movement. I'm not entirely sure, I'm not a fan of the 7m series, they break on factory power. They also use a distributor, so you'd have to convert.
I can sure help you though. I'll be making some more vids on emu

4.2

Basically yes, so long as the ecus fuction reflects ecumaster

Ignition -> ignition output

No. You can keep it. It's all tunable. I just deleted mine
