The difficulty with following Sein's route would be that there's no guarantee his friend will be at the next town. Far from it, he'll likely have to go well past there. And that's too much of a delay for the party. And as we all know, Fern's scary when she gets mad. As for the short goodbyes... You'll see.
This is a masterclass in story telling, it's one of those stories that the writer is probably going to end up spending the rest of their trying to top or match and possibly not succeed.
~12:30 On how long they've been traveling together, Fern turned 16yo in episode 3 27 years after Himmel died. Frieren met Fern 20 years after Himmel died, so when she was 9yo. And her birthday happens during 28 years after the death of Himmel, so she's 17yo as of this episode. So by Japanese (and I guess this show's rules) she's an adult at 18yo, which is what I think Frieren is meaning on that. And Frieren has known and been traveling with Fern for almost nine years now. I've been enjoying your reactions to the show and such. Good editing too. Keep up the good work! EDIT: Whoops. It's 29 years after Himmel died in the episdoe where she gets the bracelet, so she's 18 now.
@@kpetalis Either case, she's clsoe to 20 in this point. She'll be nearly 30 when they get to Ende if this whole thing takes as long as the Hero's party did.
This episode, especially the new clay animation in the ED, made me realise there can be only 2 ensings of this adventure - either Fern will grow old and will die or, Frieren will die in a battle. The ending will be bitter sweet as the whole show. Or may I say it - like life itself.
My guess is that we will get a "XX years later" type of finale where after the journey, we get to catch up with everyone either by visiting them (Fern, Stark, and Sein (maybe Eisen if he is still around)) or see them in a flash forward (Kraft, and peeps we have yet to meet)
Just think how good Hot and Sour Soup tastes so Happy and Sad also make a good soup. At least we can taste all of those feels! You are right these are very strange feelings!!! Good reaction vid.
The new Opening is called "Haru" or "Sunny and is performed by Yorushika. The ending is the second half of the same song "Anytime, Anywhere" by Milet.
11:45 Fern pulling away at that moment while being like, "Mom, you're embarrassing me in front of my Boyfriend."
Where's my fellow Fern x Stark fans?
The ending is one song. The 1st Verse is Himmel's call. The 2nd is Frieren's reply - I am alright!
Dude, do you seriously want to make a griwn ass man cry saying that...
Quick goodbyes have a meaning in this show which will be explained in the last episode of the show
"When i get sick I just die" even if it was said lightheartedly, i felt that man. Same here. I miss the days when someone took care of me
Watching through this series with my teenaged kid, and especially the second half of this episode, delivers emotional sucker punches like few others.
I dono why, but for whatever reason, every time i rewatch this episode and the ending starts playing, it brings a tear to my eye.

Stark is capable of killing a Solar Dragon in one blow. Being held like that by him must've felt like being restrained by stone. Terrifying strength
If you like the Frieren being a mom to Fern as she grows up then you'll love this second half
Thank you for sharing 😊

They are considered adults when they are 20 years old, same as in real life in most societies during medieval times.

It's 29 years after the death of Himmel and Frieren met Fern 20 years after, so they've been together for 9 years now, traveling for about 4.
A reaction video that doesn't go "Omg that is so cuuuuute" 30 times over. Very nice c:

Once this one is done, delicious in the dungeon is next for the elves
It's important to note that, without Sein, Frieren would almost certainly have noped out of helping the sleeping village.
3:53 new opening timestamp.
10:29
Nice Ninomae Ina'nis impression.
Quick goodbyes will be explained later on :)
I think Himmel never truly confessed to Frieren because he didnt want to burden her with losing a lover after he passed away.
