I have never heard this song before, but the words are taken from Hallel, which is a collection of psalms that we say on special days to praise and thank Hashem. Yosef Hashem aleichem means that Hashem should continue to add on to the blessings that He has already given. Nothing actually to do with anyone named Yosef lol! He is an Israeli composer and has composed many Jewish music classics.
Yeah. Biblical names are in heb rew so many of them have a semantic meaning besides being a name. Though I must say tanya was just a coincidence. It's a Russian name and has nothing to do with the tanya from the song
@@PortuguesePai I think your Tanya video is what really got forwarded around the Jewish community which led to more Jews finding your channel. Sometimes even a "mess-up" can be beneficial.
@@Yfrboy ya, the Israel news really helped with the channel. I'm very greatful for every and all views the videos/channel have accumulated. As Bob Ross used to say "we don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents" 😂
@@PortuguesePai I left you a different comment about this band... youtube.com/@RockMishpacha They are all siblings and the father is the bass player. It would be really cool if you reacted to them (either their most recent video, "Frieds Favorites" or the "20 songs challenge.") None of them are really singers, so in their recent video they got a different singer. But I would love if you could react to the band itself.
Yosef in this case doesn't refer to a person rather to the meaning of the word, which in this case means "shall add" so when he says "yosef hashem aleichem" it translates to "God shall add onto you..." then it continues onto a whole lot of blessings onto you, the person reading the passages.
Avraham Chaim Green was defenetly one of the best child soloist in chasidic music if you want a current beautiful child soloist check out Bentzi Kletzken he sings alot together with Malchut choir
About Avraham Chaim Green: Chasidic boy star soloists generally stop singing after their bar mitzvah, bc once they go to yeshiva high school, the hours are a lot longer and they can't miss so much time from their studies to practice and do gigs. Many of them resume singing once they're married, provided their voices have held up. I don't think Chaim has sung in the past few years, though a video clip surfaced recently, of him playing the keyboard at his sleep-away yeshiva during a yeshiva celebration. So I have a feeling that come another couple of years, we'll be hearing from grownup singing sensation Green!
A few words about the conductor of the orchestra: Moshe Mona Rosenblum - he is one of the first ones in the field of Hasidic music, a composer, arranger, conductor and... everything related to Hasidic music
This event is a yearly event marking the day the rabbi yoel of satmer escapes Nazi Germany so it is a thanks giving event for the satmer community. On holidays in the Jewish year we say the halel (a few psalms that are full of praises and thanks) this song is from the end of Psalm 115 hence it being sung at such a event.
Ok so you already know this is not a song about Joseph. But you may like to know that the joseph from the bible was named this way because his mother had been childless and pining for a son and when her first child was born she said "joseph Hashem li ben acher" G-d shall add to me another son and that's why she called him joseph. This psalm sort of plays on that "G-d should add on to you and to your children" all the blessings and it starts with the same 2 words as rachel (Joseph's mother ) used
Loved your reaction to this! There are some other videos of Avrum Chaim Green, you can search Lo Beruach Hashem or Mame Ruchel, 2 beautiful songs where he sings more.

Hello Portuguesepai, before writing anything, I would like to thank you for this Wonderful video, honoring kids kid. As every good Torah yeshivah knows... Hashem decreed every person under 20 years old, male and female under 20 years old, are still kids, so ... yes, he's still child, bit this kid is older now, he's already a big child now, because He's 18 age now, as every Child, Avrum Chaim Green is growing and developing. For me, It is a great satisfaction to have vision youpay tribute for him, for me this kid is the best singer I have ever heard singing, , this song, "Yosef", Wow, It was very well sung by this kid. Would you like to know how it is currently? Well... his voice is even more Wonderful, I think Shulem Lemmer and Avrum Chaim Green formed a triumphant double, It would be interesting that this was repeated, but I was told that unfortunately Avrum Chaim Green stopped singing, but he sings very well and Avrum Chaim also knows how to play piano and keyboard. This song I'll show it for you now, Watch Some recent videos of this boy👉Brive’le, Neshoma , Ad Mosai and now this video, this Kid Avrum Chaim Green was 14 years old,( ילד הפלא אברהם חיים גרין התבגר) on this other video of this link: ( ua-cam.com/video/UFblc7XYaO8/v-deo.html ), name this video ( Former Yeled Hapeleh Avrom Chaim Green Playing Keyboard In His Yeshiva With Kalmy Shwartz Singing ) Chaim is already a larger child on this video, this kid is 16 or 17 years old this video ans this Yeled weren't longer singing to the public. And this video, the Child appears playing keyboard. and as I wrote before you, this Kid is 18 years old. Thank you so much for having honored this kid, he certainly deserves it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who admires this kid. THANK YOU SO MUSH FOR THAT!!!🎤💚🎹👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for checking out this video & yes Shulem is one of the singers who will always find a way to surprise you with his high notes limits, zanvil wienberger will do that to you as well, & I would love for you to check out his preference of the song "min hashumaim" it's a song he composed [ for his capabilities...] & it's became a sort of a trend for him to preform it all over & people singing along waiting for him to hit the high note, you should definitely check out more of zanvil ua-cam.com/video/O6BpzaJ8ZKw/v-deo.html
The words of the song are based on verses from tehilim (psalms), sung on holidays: G-d shall add onto you and onto your offspring! Blessed are you to G-d, he who created heaven and earth! The heveans, oh... the heavens, belong to G-d! And the earth he gave to human beings! No... the dead don't praise you, oh G-d! And neither do all those who descend into silence! And, so... we will praise G-d from now on to eternity... praise G-d!
These words are from psalms 115:14 - through end of chapter. Very powerful words with a powerful tune behind them! The beauty of Jewish music in general.....the tunes are supposed to help bring out the meaning of the words and give you a more meaningful understanding of them.
I think the "glitchiness" of that camera is that it's a low fish eye lens that's only focused on the keyboards. It's at a weird angle, probably because they couldn't find another place for the camera. LOL
Adam and Eve were placed in the Garden of Eden by G-d at the time of creation. There is a commentary that says G-d allowed Adam to take one thing with him from the Garden of Eden when he and Eve were expelled after eating from the tree of knowledge. Adam chose to take 'music' from there with him to this lower world, although it's rightful place is in that spiritually higher and purer environment. This song, with its arrangements, lyrics, composition, musician and singers are a perfect manifestation of that amazing spiritual realm music comes from. Truly beyond this world.
