The Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge

Our mission is to provide a home-like place of respite for families and loved ones of adult patients who are receiving care at the NIH Clinical Center, the nation’s premier clinical research hospital.
Since opening in 2005, the Edmond J. Safra Family Lodge (the Lodge) has offered a “home away from home” for adult patients who are receiving care at the NIH Clinical Center - the nation’s premier clinical research hospital - and their families and caregivers.
Conveniently located on the NIH campus within walking distance of the Clinical Center, the Lodge provides a home-like space for supportive fellowship, family time and tranquility, at no cost to patients and their families. The English manor-style residence includes 34 guest rooms, a library, a generously equipped business and telecommuting center, a fitness center, a children’s play area, a large kitchen and dining area, the Claudio and Evelyne Cohen gardens and comfortable social areas. The Lodge also provides breakfast and holiday dinners.
