Buffalo trace single barrel store picks are mostly really good. The Bowman Brothers small batch reminds me of strawberries and cream. Some of the Buffalo picks remind me of Stagg Jr light. Really good.
I recently purchased a bottle of Bowman Brothers and did a similar test. Buffalo Trace is a bit sweeter and the Bowman Brothers feels like a higher proof. Both very good. Guess the extra ~$10 per bottle goes towards the classier bottle. If you're trying different bourbon to find you favorite, it worth the extra money. I appreciate your investment in time and efforts put into making the video. Thank you.
I have had dozens of bottles of Buffalo Trace and just bought Bowman Brothers. When I pour them, I can tell you all about how different they are, and why I like Buffalo Trace better (Bowman too spicy and a dry finish). I just did a blind tasting with 3 tbs. whiskey, 1 tbs. water, in identical glasses. I liked both, but guessed the identies wrong! I'm usually good at this. I still believe I like BT better! LOL!
Never had the Buffalo Trace but have had Bowman Brothers, I agree with Bowman Brothers is a little spicy. I really like the Isaac Bowman Port Barrel Finish better than the straight bourbon.
The Port Finished is the only BB worth 35$. It really picks up that port aroma of grapes, sweetness, but still pepery bite on the tounge. If you want something different, it is worth having one and seems to be everywhere in VA ABC stores at least.
$27! wow. If you can find Trace here, it is between $36 and $60. thanks for the review! Looking forward to trying Bowman to see how it compares for me.
They do not have the same mash build. BT is low rye(less than 10%) and has some barley in mash build #1, 75% corn, BB has higher corn and rye . so it is spicier. Both are owned by Sazerac.

@@pointblank748 great prices. congrats!
Wow that’s pricey. In Ky they are somewhere around 25.
Great vid. You got a subscriber in me. I came to similar conclusions in a blind with the same bottles.

Weird. I can get Buffalo trace at any and every liquor store or grocery store.
Interesting! Where are you from? We get it once every 2 months or so here in wisco
Sf bay area
Pennsylvania BT is hard to come by. New Jersey i have much better luck, but I refuse to pay $50 for it.
@@aaronknight4800 Don’t blame you. $25 here
Bowman bros has a very dry finish . Not much nose .
It is dryer, not bad tho
I get strawberries and cream on the nose and the pallet. That’s the small batch though.
