Would love to have the 54 or anything you build love your style ratrods and patina paint make so many vehicles look so goooood For the rat mud truck you should use old street signs for the bed floor. Also pull a couple plugs see if fuel is in the cylinder if it is check the cam position sensor or possibly map sensor good luck with the build love the channel love the content keep up the killer work
Casey I gotta tell you a true Story. I bought 12 of that exact same spray paint the (Gloss Black Rust-Oleum turbo) bought a case of Rust-Oleum sandable grey primer and last early spring set up a temporary paint booth I'm our 2-1/2 car garage that's heated and sanded our one owner original 1972 Rally Nova 350 4 speed car down to bare metal (the original factory metal flake green was in really bad shape) then took and filled any little dings or bumps we couldn't pop out, got it all as smooth and straight as we could, primed the entire car just like factory (door jambs fender wells etc.) wet sanded between coats, then let it set over night in the shop with our little box fans for exhaust out the window then the next day painted the entire car with 4 good smooth coats and sanded between all but the last coat then sprayed the entire car with 2 heavy coats of clear gloss and sanded and buffed them to a absolute mirror shine. it looked so good we went to a big car show this summer (it's a Pro Street car now) complete with 434 small block and Liberty 5 speed and we parked the car and went walking around to see the other cars that were way out of our class and league....when we returned there were 2 officials from the car show organizers that had just finished giving us the peoples choice award ! and it was kinda embarrassing because we hadn't even entered in the show.....but that didn't matter to them since any car at the show was eligible for this award and sheesh we got a free steak dinner for 2, a hundred bucks spending cash and a huge ass trophy....and we had no intention of putting it in the show cause while we were very proud of it ...we had no idea other people said it was by far the next to best paint job in the whole car show ! lol.....we didn't have the stones to tell them it was a lot of work and rattle can paint ! lololol. true story.
I'd find out how much pressure is at the rail. It could be letting enough gas through the filter to seem like it's working but not enough to keep the right pressure up for the injectors. A relay could be bad. Swapping them around is an easy way to check. Used to be all you needed was spark and fuel. Kinda miss those days.

Hey if you ever need to test a fuel injector you can use a 9v battery to see if its opening, you can also use the battery to keep it open and run some cleaner through it
Hi I'm new to your video! I love to see guys who will paint their hot rods!! Its what I and my friends did back in the sixties. We spray bombed many cars, we did lots of prep, but we couldn't afford to have a pro paint our rides. We put plenty of paint on and let it dry for a week or so, then we polished them out , I took a summer paint n body class between 10th and 11th grade, then on I did all the painting. Yes I had some runs here n there but I wet sanded up to 1200 grit, and our rides looked fine. I did cars for my brother and my friends but I had no desire to paint jobs for people, I wasn't that confident and didn't like painting that much.
Wow, I haven't heard that name in ages. I took autobody in vocational school from 78-80. We used to call our teacher Johnny Scheib. He did not think it was funny at all.
Wow that’s good to know. Last year I rattle canned an 87 f250 with regular rustoleum gloss black cans. Took about 8 cans without doing inside the bed that was previously done with a cheap spray bed liner. Currently have a 91 f150 that needs paint and I’ll definitely be doing it with these cans
i found myself wondering if this video pushed your dad over the edge.. for some reason i see him walking in saying you are no longer my son then driving off to a private place to cry and try to figure out where he went wrong raising you.. i mean this in a funny way and know he is very proud of you but because of his reaction to your bondo work
I WAS LAUGHING SO HARD, AFTER YOU HAD PUT THE SEATS IN AND WERE TESTING THEM OUT, YOU LOOKED LIKE A CHRIS FARLEY SKIT, SMALL GUY IN A BIG TRUCK, SO FUNNY!!! THE ROOF HAS SO MUCH HEAD CLEARANCE IT MADE YOU LOOK LIKE MINI ME FROM SPY WHO SHAGGED ME. HILARIOUS 😆😆😆
I just found this channel and watched a few vids. Casey is hilarious. I enjoy the process and the realism he creates. To the editor: “Richard”? Idk that’s what Casey said, dude, your skills are awesome. Thank you for what you do to make it entertaining and enjoyable. Both of you keep up the good work.
Dude that is a serious spray pattern for some shake shake, I agree with some of the other comments about checking fuel pressure at the rail and make sure the injectors are getting power to fire.
Just joined! That is a Ford my Dad owned. Not sure the year, but I remember him telling me it had the spare that mounted on the outside of the bed. It dawned on me after about 5 minutes, but yeah. It put a smile on my face. My pops passed on Friday March 13th 2020
👍Good stuff! Funny story, had a very old uncle that flipped cars in the 60’s & 70’s. He’d paint them in a weird way but my dad said they actually looked pretty good. He’d mix his paint w/ “white gas”. Roller & brush. Guessing the gas would evaporate. I’m no painter. Pops said no brush marks that he could ever see but a run here and there. HA! This was in the country way south Alabama. Said he moved 40-50 cars & trucks a year like that. Guess if there’s “will” there’s a way! ✌️👍🇺🇸
Hey man just found your video. I like the idea of your painting I had the same thing with my old dodge, it was painted light gray. And had bare areas, old paint colors . A friend of mine told me to use clear coat, I did and man it changed from the light gray to black and with patina showing! I'll try to send a picture! Thanks.
Check out some fuel injector videos, you can see how the spray pattern works, pop ya breather off n start on starter fluid or bottle then watch your spray pattern
Good for you man. At least you're not one of those people that calls a rusty mess "Patina". Patina is the definition for "Can't afford to paint my truck"
One time I ran into a fuel injector problem and the answer was for this particular one that the fusible link to the positive side of the battery was damaged check your hookups
You're better off using a fine nap roller and some acrylic enamel. You get much better coverage and there is less waste. Then you can wet sand the orange peel out when it dries. I did this to my first car (a 1942 Packard) when I was 17 years old... Just my quarter adjusted for inflation...
Yes it's got a wide fan but how's the consistency of it? Is it really thin and stripey or does it look good after a single coat? And what about clear coat on top of it? I've considered trying it out myself as I'm seeing these Turbo cans absolutely all OVER the internet.
How about sectioning the cab and hood to bring it down and get the dash to the right hight rather than chopping the top, would be more unique and you have the skills to make it work.
@@stance_is_everything I bought 2 cans from amazon in june. I am just north of toronto maybe that's why? I havnt looked recently. Even the regular cans are like $15 now at canadian tire. Crazy!
In the event that it is the one with the plastic clips all you gotta do is take A sharpie and cut the top in half and then slit it down the center, slide it over the line push it up in the slot and pull out.
Definitely check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail. Just because it's at the filter doesn't necessarily mean there's enough to start it. Had similar issue on one of my projects. Then check for spark.
I can't believe your doing that with the bel air sitting over there 😱 wont particles land on pretty much anything around? I spray painted somthin in my parents garage and there were particles. Good job it looks great!! This helped me figure out how many cans I needed for my s10
It's a Ford pickup on a ____ 4 wheel drive chassis? Fill in the blank Some cars come with a Schroeder valve to relieve the pressure near the fuel pressure regulator.
Cool on the paint job. on the engine. i would pull the tube off the throttle body and open it and spray a little ether in it. if it fires off then check fuel pressure at the injector rail. if you got proper pressure then look at the injector and see if they have power and if the ground it breaking like it's suppose to pulse the injector.
Does it crank? If not, check the starter, and check the associated parts. If it does crank, check for fuel getting onto the intake area. If it's leaking, injectors probably need new seals. Also check the oil. If they mix,oil and fuel make the motor go bang.lol
i just pulled a 5.7 that wouldnt fire up for me. the fuel pump was doing what its supposed to. i bottle fed it for a few and put a few rrrrrr's to it then the throttle body decide to start working. then i pulled it and set it under my bench for future use.
interesting spray, I've never seen that turbo version, after looking into it, they need to add more colors, only black, white, clear available. I say raise the seat 2" so you don't look like a 12 yr. old sitting in it.

Get a fuel pressure tester, there will be a fitting on the fuel rail. Test it first, then you will know for sure the fuel pump is good.

I would have gone with flat black. It hides the imperfections much better than gloss.

Check your fuel pressure regulator valve it check it see if there's any fuel going through it good luck with it brother have a very blessed day 🙏

There is a Schrader valve on the fuel rail turn on the key press the core and the gas should spray.

If it's a vortex and it won't start always check to see if you have oil pressure...if the sending unit is bad it won't allow the truck to start

Some cars come with a Schroeder valve to relieve the pressure near the fuel pressure regulator.
Do you have enough pressure to the rails/ injectors? #2 check to see if you have juice going to injectors .. #3 check ground wires...
Coolest intro I've ever seen. Had to subscribe.
Awesome!!!!
such a bummer i loved the before look

If you wanted to actually paint the truck later could you epoxy primer over the rattle can spray? Or have to strip it all down?
Try checking the security system. I could need to be reset. If it's the security it won't allow the fuel pump to turn on.
U sound like us TRYING to build a quick flip motorcycle. "Let's just paint it and sale it" turned into a lowering and hard tail build. Lol
Could be security communication from computer,to forb key,or ECU not sending the pulse to injectors so they can spray.
Can't stop thinking about all the overspray on the other vehicles around you.
I wish I had that blue shot truck❤🙏🏿👍🏾
Regulator, injectors, check wiring in case any mice got in there and chewed on anything around the injectors. They love wire insulation
This truck is coming along nicely.
The crappy spider injectors, crank sensor? If it Sat a long time and the fuel gum clogs the injectors screens
Love the classic trucks!
Damn! Who needs Maaco when you have turbo cans! You could do a proper paintjob with some primer and gloss
