Never would have guessed this dude was born in England.
Yeah but he was raised in Chicago as his mother is American hence the accent
@@MikeMJPMUNCHso why does chris have a british accent they’re brothers.
@@luisz222 Apparently Jonathan adopted the accent more to fit in where as Chris didn’t want to or need to plus he is older and spent more time in England than Jonathan.
@@luisz222 Chris went to boarding school in England while Jonathan attended school in the US. Also, Jonathan wanted to fit in as a kid doing his schooling in the US.
I think he was born in Gotham
Thank god they did it. Otherwise my favourite film wouldn’t have existed.
Which one
@@walterblack4065 Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight
True, but I actually wish he hadn't Made the 3rd one Rises
@@navylaks2Do you wish he hadn’t made it, or you do you wish he had made it better?
the dark knight was way too woke
This movie has like 7 Oscar winners attached to it now. Its a historical movie for sure
Glad they went for it.
I didn't realise Jonathan at first lol
That's because he doesn't wear hockey pads!! That's the difference between him and you!
Jonathan Nolan was involved with Fallout? No wonder it was so good.
Kilter Films is his or both Nolan Brothers' production company... and their logo was in front of every episode before Bethesda and Amazon's, on the Radiation King TV set 😅
He is the main person behind it, production, writing and creative and a fan of the games
The Dark Knight is my favorite movie of all time. So I'm very glad Christopher Nolan made that film.
How many movies have you seen?
All 3. I own the Trilogy
you don't think it's too woke?
No.
@@billymoore7182 It's too woke
Not gonna lie but Jonathan Nolan kinda looks like Christian Bale a little bit.
Lol I was thinking the same thing from the thumbnail, is that Christian Bale? It's because he grew his hair. But as soon as you zoom in, nope.
He's like a cross between Christian Bale and his brother Chris.
Christian Bale and Josh Brolin.
Seriously, I thought it was Bale also.
I loved Person of Interest that mr Nolan here created 😊 hats off!
Its funny that both of their latest projects have to do with nukes
😂 nice catch!
The Dark Knight is a certified classic at this point and arguably the greatest sequel ever made!
As much as I love some of the films that came out of the the DCEU, I wish I knew what it would have been like if we just got a man of steel trilogy, what batman begins did for batman was more or less what man of steel did for superman. It was like this sports car had just been built. It was origin. Bringing other characters in deprived this superman the opportunity to be fully realized.
Except Man of Steel wasn't nearly as good, and then they clumsily rushed into Justice League in a vain attempt to ride the Avengers wave, when all they really did was choke on their fumes. I'm so glad to see a fresh new DCU on the way, led by far more competent leadership.
@@tronam Tonally, Man of Steel was way too far off. Taking a "Dark Knight Returns" approach to Superman, which seemed to be Snyder's approach to all of these movies, was wrong.
I'm in the final shot of the dark knight! If you look closely you can see me in the background giving a thumbs up
Thank God he did
Fall out is so fucking good. I don't have a favorite director per se, but if i did, it would be chris. But i have a feeling Chris's secret weapon is his brother.
Jonathan Nolan is American??
He grew up in the US while Chris grew up in London, it's really weird :)
Both brothers were born in England and have dual UK/US citizenship, so technically they're both 'American', but Jonathan moved to the US before Chris did. Apparently his British accent was "unpopular" in school, so he consciously learned how to speak with an American accent to better fit in and it stuck.
@AllInTheGame01 his younger press photos resemble an early Dune Part One Josh Brolin!
@tronam he moved to the US when he was younger? It's not uncommon to adopt an accent where one lives in as a you ger person. There's no need to point out the why of it all. I imagine a British accent would be attractive. I don't know ow anything it being "unpopular," and I mean, you have British born American actors who have blended accents. His is markedly American.
@@genghisgalahad8465no such thing as a “British accent” Britain is England, Scotland and Wales. EVERY TIME Americans say “British accent” they mean English…get it right, it’s not hard…
😭
Why are they asking him?
So i guess Christopher Nolan was making Prestige at the time
Wait, why does he not have an accent like Chris??
'cause they grew up in different countries (one parent was american and the other was english), Chris grew up mostly in England, Jonathan mostly in the States
There's a seven year age gap between them and their dad is American and their mother a Brit - they would go back and forth between London and Chicago. Jonah Nolan jokes that he got the 'American leg of the tour.' He also said he got a lot of hassle as a kid in American schools for his mixed accent, so he doubled down on his Chicago accent to fit in.
I thought that was Christian Bale lol!
Next time, ask him if he wanted to kill Batman off!!
So really, we have Johnathan to thank for the Dark Knight. Otherwise it sounds like it never would have happened.
Why bro has American accent and other bro has British ?
Its kind of how solid snakes speaks in american accent and liquid snake speaks in a british accent 😊
Jonathan is very different to Chris. He reminds me of a different Chris - Chris Pine.
Whoa. The Chris Connection. Far out.
So strange that Jonathan Nolan has an American accent but Christopher Nolan had a British accent, even after knowing that they grew up apart
Their mom is american
I wished Nolan hadn't
I really like TDKR but wish they’d kept it at just BB & TDK, the two made a great story. Batman’s career after that could’ve been left to the imagination.
What's everyone's problem with rises? Its so daring and powerful. My theory of mind for tdkr haters is that they just, didn't, get it.
@@streetlawyer Where did I say I didn’t like it?
@@CRL365 you implied it when you said they should've not made tdkr. Your were signalling that it was an inferior film
@@streetlawyer Wrong. I literally typed that I really liked it… you blind?
@@CRL365 yes I am blind. My fingers must've slipped over the Braille there. Look, I thought your throwing shade at rises was unnecessary. You praised it, but then completely undermined that praise in the next sentence, and suggested that rises fits awkwardly in the trilogy, and shouldn't have been made at all. That's a pretty condescending thing to say about a movie. Its like, "yeah it's great . . . . . Buuuuuuut, it really shouldn't have been made. It ruins my experience of the first two." Rises gets so much needless and empty and false critiques. It bugs me when people dismiss it for shallow reasons.
Christopher does not give Jonathan Nolan enough credit for his work. I think Chris and Emma Thomas are arrogant.
His version of Interstellar is superior.
Yeah he knew he fucked up and wore the wrong shirt.
Im the guy that loved batman begins, worshipped the dark knight and nit picked and critiqued the f out of tdkr... Rip heath
And for TDKR, they needed to park the sports car, but they crashed it to a tree and left it there instead
Man, that sucks for you. To not be able to grasp/appreciate the RICHNESS of Rises is a tragedy
I was really let down with TDKR when I saw it in theatre. Didn't revisit it for awhile. I've seen it multiole times since 2020 and I'm actually a fan of it now. There is something about the pacing of that film that doesn't match the first two, which is where I think the problem lies in the subconscious of the viewer. However, they've got so much ground to cover over so much time and many events. It's really a good movie, it's major fault is it comes after The Dark Knight.
@@kowalski5599 nice analysis. As Michael mann says,
Time does justice to quality
Nice try but thats not Christopher Nolan
?
@@Slask7 Any questions?
@@scooterlibbie I was wondering what “try” you were talking about.
@@Slask7 the effort to fool the public into thinking this is Chritstopher Nolan. This is not him. Do not believe the lies
The story was weak. A single actor made it worth watching.
Wrong.
What are you smoking!? Sorry was not weak at all.
So? I'm sure almost every filmmaker is reluctant to make something they aren't sure of at first. Its called just thinking about it maybe a little too much. Stupid channels are so desperate for views. Luckily, I ad-block.
Nolan batman is one of the most overrated and flawed films ever made. Evidence is in the fact how people refer to "The Joker" being good. This is an example that one person's acting carried the film and not the actual story or narrative.
false. These films have less flaws than people claim, and the second movie wouldn’t have been that cultural phenomenon and an instant classic if the only good thing in it was the Joker.
Actually, it’s Todd Phillips Joker you’re talking about: a mid movie praised to death because there’s a stellar performance that elevates all the rest.
As I understand it, Nolan was perfectly happy to abuse my buddy half to death with plagiarism to make a carbon copy of Bane, and the rest of DKR. What an utter and total scumbag is Nolan. Always bragging about theft and down doing.
Huh? Can you elaborate?
@@streetlawyer I think someone forgot to take their medication
