Fun fact: the term "sepia" in relation to color (reddish-brown) comes from the Sepia genus of cuttlefish. Its ink was used by Greeks and Romans, and it had a sort of revival in the 1700s when German painter Jakob Crescenz Seydelmann developed a new method of extracting ink from the sac. Because of that, sepia ink became increasingly popular for use in painting. And later on, the term "sepia" came to be applied to the reddish-brown toning process used in old photographs.

I am a new subscriber from Canada! After having this channel recommended I have been eagerly enjoying every video I can as often as I can! I appreciate the enthusiasm and energy in your channel, and am so glad that through illness and injuries and poisonings you can keep your spark while working with sea creatures. I used to camp so I love watching the survival challenges, I love to cook and I love seafood so I love the techniques I learn watching you masterfully prepare so many different fishes. I've never cleaned a fish (though I have cleaned small squid) and watching has given me confidence to try it someday. Watching this video, I even tried calligraphy and miss doing it by watching your work. I also am so glad to see the respect you treat your catches with, and how you always want to see the best in each fish and to put them to their best use. I used to study biology so the scientific facts always thrill me too! I'm glad that despite all the struggles you face, you have been achieving wish after wish.
