Ignore those messages you and Roy are top notch farmers most of the country really don’t understand life cycle and what farmers do for there animals at any time of the day think how many calves you would of lost just letting them all calve on there own I wasn’t from a farming back ground I badgered my parents to take me out of school and send me to brymore boarding school probably the best life choice I ever made apart form when a show cow dragged me around the bath and west show ground main ring while I forgot to let let go while sleeping in the cow sheds ( loved every minute)
Spent my summers for a local farmer rolling on a David brown and getting kicked across a parlour while milking I( I was about 4ft 8 at 16)
My heart is always with farming live in a small village that we couldn’t do without the man came to read the electric meter he said don’t you get gritter here I said the last time I saw gritter in the village was over 10 yrs ago and we were 2 weeks where no one left the village unless on foot
Keep going to all farmers I know times are tough but hopefully the country will understand what you do 365 days a year 👍

I wonder if these people who complain A have never made an error B have ever done anything themselves C are the experts they claim to be? From time to time some of us offer advice from our own practical experience but these are signposts, no more because some of that comes from different circumstances. As we say in Norfolk ‘Keep on troshin’! You are both doing all right and if we laugh with you from time to time or sometimes even at you don’t worry!

Don't take any notice of keyboard warriors as there's a good chance they've never done much in there lives. Cows calf nationally is best and sometimes you lose a calf, it happens, it's nature. You and Roy are doing a fantastic job and I really envy you in a good way.

To me it comes down to one simple fact with farming , (ignoring the nay sayers and nutters ) That where there's Livestock there will always be some Dead Stock, no matter how much love care and attention you lavish on them all, you cant possibly win them all. Keep doing things your own way, you and Roy in my humble opinion are doing a damn fine job, ( just the opinion of an retired part time farm labourer on a Beef and Sheep farm in the hills of West Yorkshire )

  • @Andy-ix2ox

I wouldn’t even bother to reply to muppets who post comments when they don’t know what they are talking about! We are not due to start calving for another week and we have four calved already 3 still alive one was a bit too premature and didn’t make it, saw none of them calve and two of them calved in the cubicle shed so we are just completely reprehensible farmers according to the genius that commented on you, considering we raised two more calves than we had cows calve last year we did a reasonable job by anyone’s standards. The practicality of farming is that you can only be in one place at a time and we get paid that little for what we produce, that we have to keep more cattle to make ends meet which means that we are inclined to let them get on with it most of the time, and the reality is that when it comes to calving dairy cows 95 out of 100 will not need any assistance and of the five that do one will probably need a section and the rest will just be a malpresentation or a particularly big calf . I could never envision a situation where I would be brave enough to put my life on a public platform like you do and have to read comments from people who don’t have a clue about what they’re talking about , but somehow purport to be some sort of expert, I just wouldn’t have the patience for that shit. Speaking of shit , the Roy lad seems to have been negligent about taking his regular shit shower lately or is it just that he finds it not as amusing as you and the rest of the viewers and that you have used you editorial discretion and not shown his struggles? Regards from Ireland

i have no idea what a good farmer is , or a great farmer does.but i know what a snowflake is and how shallow a keyboard warrior is. Dont ignore them just know they have no idea on what they say, you work hard mistakes are made and yes unlike the trolls who put up horrible comments you learn from your errors. I have never heard you profess to being a farming guru. You know what you know, you ask questions on the things you dont know. and sometimes in life the starter motor gets stuck and you only have an 17 and a 19 spanner and a brush and shovel, you do what you can and sweep up any mess as best you can, but so long as you learn, keep on going. i totally respect your channel and how you work, thank you for the entertainment, and knowledge you impart to a Royal Mail office worker and many others.

Hi Charlotte, is there a reason for the new colours of the videos or is it just you being you? You have been really busy with the new heifers and cows calving over the Xmas / New year period. With so many beef calves are you going to grow them out or sale them to other farmers? Its good to see Roy appearing on the videos more in 2025 and now we can see how well you guys work together as a team. (I am not going to say you didnt say goodbye) Chris from Victoria, Australia.

Don’t ever feel that you have to or need to justify yourself to a keyboard Karen. Let them get out of their mommy and daddy’s house and get a job. People will spout their opinions about everything they know absolutely nothing about. Let alone Dairy farming or animal’s in general. Opinions are like your back side, everyone has one and those are the ones that don’t dignify anyone to answer to them. Keep your head up and don’t let anyone tell you what you have to do on your channel.

If the wiring has not been messed around with on the bobcat, I would remove the small wires off the starter motor & reconnect the battery, if it turns over the starter is duff, if not check the relays in the fuse box (behind your calves in the cab area) remove the starter relay or swap it out with another function I.e lights and re connect. If that cures it the relay is duff, if not you have a feed from somewhere. FYI you can get a battery quick disconnect you can put on the battery cable if it is a common occurrence, just adds another failure point 😂
