Ohhh i never thought of making blocks into pumpkins! I'm doing that this year! Also the queen bee with that paper on the tray is amazing! I wouldnt have thought of that! Beautiful!
She does a lot of things I would not have thought of and when she does it, it almost seems to me that a light goes on and I think "but of course you would do it that way". LOL
*FIRST, LOL❣️😎* My favorite of your DIY's today is the tray. The bright yellow 💛 color drew me in - and the muted decoupage paper you chose to go with it is lovely because of the variety of birds. And anyone who knows me knows I am a bird lover - both birds in nature and birds as pets for decades.😊
I'm glad you liked the tray!! :) Yellow is not normally a color I choose - especially that particular hue, but I have seen others use it and I liked the way their things turned out, so I thought I would give it a try and I'm happy I did! :) And I love birds, too. :) Thank you!!
@@theeclecticcottagespokane *Bright Yellow is something 💛 I really like, but use sparingly in my home year 'round. In Spring I've GOT TO HAVE pops of DAFFODILS AND FORSYTHIA around me...they are ESSENTIAL TO ME, LIKE AIR TO BREATHE‼️💛🏵🍃🌼🌿*
I’m making shelf sitters right now for my first ever craft fair in October..I found glue stick on the wood..then laid my napkin down..then smooth out with plastic wrap..then modge podge on top to seal..love how yours turned out❤
Thank you for sharing your talent with us, Rachel. My favourite is the tray. Here in South Africa we don't decorate for fall (autumn) so I love to see what the content creators of US do. Must say, still found the different forms of "pumpkins" quirky. 😊
Wow - I honestly can't imagine a life without fall. It is my absolute favorite time of the year, lol. I guess if you are used to a world without it you probably wouldn't miss it? :) I'm glad you liked the projects - my "pumpkins" have kind of evolved into more of an abstract representation of the essence of a pumpkin . . . haha. But they are fun. :)
Rachel…a few months ago I was thrifting at our local habitat for humanity and I picked up one of those conal shaped tins. It was painted a peachy orange and had rafia on the handle so I picked it up and thrifted some airy fern like greenery along with some egg shaped mini pipberries and let me tell you it looked just like a carrot. It has been one of my absolute favorite pieces for the Easter season with my bunnies. I guess sometimes just a color can make one’s mind run crazy with our decor. Your thrift flip triggered that memory and I just wanted to give you a possible new idea for that shape metal. After all the sneak peeks I’m looking forward to seeing the new collection. Can’t wait for the next visit! Happy flipping Rachel!!!:):):)
After I read your comment I went and looked at that little wall pocket, and I can absolutely imagine that it would closely resemble a carrot with and orange paint job and some greenery poking out of the top! :) I'm glad you liked my creations - thank you so much!! :)
Hey Rachel! I like the look of wall pockets and yours turned out very pretty for fall. Love the wooden plate. Aren't those pumpkins the cutest thing! The tray is my favorite of the 4 today. It turned out fantastic! It is always so much fun to watch you create all of the treasures you make. Thank you for sharing how you do projects, it always gives me inspiration and hope. LOL Have a wonderful couple of days and will see you on Friday!
I'm glad you liked everything. :) That Queen Bee color is one that I've been wanting to try, but have been a little afraid of, haha. I really like how it looked with that paper, though!! Thank you so much!! :)
I love it ALL, Rachel. ❤ What a darling transformation, the wall pocket. And I absolutely feel you made the right call on the wooden plate: because the rim was so beautifully busy with design, I think that had you put dark wax over the clear wax, the rim design would wind up "competing" with the center transfer rather than complementing the rim design as it does now. And the tray! I love that paper, and the paint color. Very fall looking. Well done~
Hi Rachel, really enjoyed the video! Loved everything!! So glad you did more block pumpkins! I also have been making them fir a couple of years now and selling them. Although there great decor fir fall , they can be used all year long ! I do basically the same thing with hard cover books! Paint or deco/transfers the book, put moss on the top along with a stem and florals ! They turned out really nice and super cost effective ! Thanks for sharing your gorgeous work❤❤ Jeanne Baton Rouge I wanted to give a shout out for Sharon with The Cozy Junk Studio, I think you and your viewers will really enjoy her videos!! 16:59
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! I love making the block pumpkins - I've been making them for several years now and I enjoy trying new looks with them every year. :) The books sound amazing - may have to try that!! I am planning on making some spell books with some old hardcovers for Halloween which should be fun - they will be in a future video! :) Thanks so much!! (And I will check out The Cozy Junk Studio!)
Thank you! Here is the link for the napkins - I bought them last year and I'm pretty sure they didn't cost me as much as they are now though! www.amazon.com/dp/B09CMZB1PQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Rachel: all projects are quite nice. However, the tray is especially good looking and functional. The color yellow seems to be trying to peek out a bit in the home furnishings industry. So the color companies are probably seeing if the public will accept this color as a possible color trend. Remains to be seen. Carol from California
I'm glad you liked them! And yellow has never been a "go to" color for me . . . I find it a little "much" in most cases, but I do like it in small doses, lol. I guess we'll see if it becomes a new trend - I don't know if is one that I would throw myself into if it does though, lol. Thank you Carol!
@@theeclecticcottagespokane I can imagine your feelings towards yellow, as I have those feelings about orange. I like the color, but it’s not one I really enjoy using in anything I create. Many years ago, a client asked me to do her whole apartment in orange, yellow, and white. I thought, this will be a challenge. However, I did create a nice interior for her and she was very pleased with it. After that, I came to grips with the color orange. Still not my favorite, but I can certainly handle that color much better than I did. At that time, I figured, Carol,- this is where you separate the girls from the women. Haha
@caroltanzi29 Lol.....for sure! Orange is another strong color that I love (certain shades, anyway) but again....in small doses. I can't imagine an entire room in it though!! Lol
