Most people don't realize MJ was just joking around with Liz here. Although he did indeed sing backup for the Doobies at several concerts, and often hung around the studio when they were practicing, and would have gladly sung on their records if asked, Michael Jackson never actually sang on any of the Doobie Brothers' studio albums. Patrick Simmons said in an interview a few years ago that in retrospect he wishes they had invited Michael to do it. Michael J knew Mike McD - Mcd was with James Ingram (doing Yah Mo Be There) in the next studio when Thriller was being recorded and also a George Benson album Give Me the Night that Q was producing.... McD recorded for BOTH but was not credited... he actually dueted with George on one track but it was dropped. Such is the fickle world of studio recording. McD does not get the credit he deserves..... period. Nice rare video though, Thanks for posting

Wow...thanks for sharing. I always believed that rumor. Yeah they should’ve let him sing background...
@Spartanm333 Thank you for the information
@Spartanm333 That's awesome if it's true but that doesn't sound right, because wasn't Thriller recorded in 1982, and Give Me The Night in 1980?
Give me the night??? Where does George Benson her involved? Lol
