@@AdamsTechLife The one off automations are showing for me in HomeKit. I see them in the device pane itself as well as in the automations list. I just tried it with my space heater, asking Siri to turn off space heater in 30 minutes. It now shows 'Today at 3:43 PM' and indicates the space heater will shut off.
Love your videos! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! And I absolutely love the supports made in wood (I guess) for the HomePods mini!! Where have you bought them?
If I have Matter smart plugs or smart balls, do I need the Apple Homepod/Google Home or Alexa? Can I control my lights with Siri (from my iPhone with my voice) or from my iPhone/iPad/Macbook with the HomeKit App? Also, can 2 people who are living together with their own devices (iPhone/iPad/Macbook) control at the same time and Sync the HomeKit app? Thank you so much!
you'll need a matter controller for each device you want to use the device in. the home works on all apple devices and devices can be controlled with siri as well as shared with other family members at the same time.
Love the video, some I knew but others I didn’t. One ? Though, your last item of the HomePod being able to execute Siri Shortcuts for devices not HomeKit compatible. I have a bond bridge that controls my ceiling fan in my bedroom and I fave shortcuts that I can control from my iPhone, but when I ask my HomePod those commands it tells me it doesn’t understand/know what to do. Any thoughts why or how to troubleshoot ?
Glad I could help! Make sure your phone is on the same wifi network and the shortcut name is not a system name used for something else. There are some phrases that siri is built to recognize but if you said something like ceiling fan on or something then that would work if you don’t use that phrase for anything else.
Technically you can use any streaming audio service like Spotify, pandora, etc through airplay but not in automations or via voice only from the device but yes it would be cool to tell Siri to play something from Spotify. Thanks for watching! 😊
What’s some of your favorite Siri commands?
Congrats! Welcome to Dad Life!
Eric, thanks SO much for the super thanks. I truly appreciate it ❤️
Love the vids.
They are an awesome resource to share with family or friends who have questions. (And to learn for myself!)
Thanks!
Glad to hear, happy to help! Thanks for watching! 😊
You can see the Siri created automations in the home app. And I believe they can be modified

Hey I have got a problem with siri shortcuts, it doesn’t seem to work with my homepod.
enable recognize my voice and turn on personal requests in the settings of the home app
Great video!
Thanks for watching! 😊
No.4 Specific Time Control does not work from Apple Watch which is such a bummer
That’s great to note, didn’t think about that. thanks for sharing!
How does this work? Show me video on Tuesday at 12 pm? 6:07
yep, just ask camera name and time
Awesome videos sorry I’m so late
Thanks for watching and supporting my friend! 😊
Great video 👌🏻
What i don’t like about siri playing music is that you are bound to apple music unfortunately.
