That guy should be a motivational speaker for body shops! Ive worked at 3 shops and i dont remember ever seeing or hearing any of those steps in the booth. Great knowledge there.
Very nice boys !
I am a Valspar/HOK guy myself but loved the information and knowledge of the presenter. A real professional!
Danyon AKA rainman of automotive finishes 😲👊🏻
KC.. You are like a robot with that gun. Awesome control.
Great camera work again Erick. I've come to expect it & you come through every time. Great tuitional for painters that know the lingo & you can see why real paintjobs cost what they do. So much labor & dedication to get it perfect.
Hey Erick! , Great tutorial video, 100 degrees is too hot for me to paint, it would dry before I can roll it on a car. lol
Great, very informative video! That guy is the man! So is KC lol
This is GREAT GREAT VIDEO!! Thank you so much for doing this. I spray ppg envirobase I bought the sata 100 bf just for sealer and I have never been happier!! Once again great great video.
Excellent.......Like to see more of this kind of stuff.............but excellent!!!!!!!!
The glamor 5335 rm47 ur60 I use everyday and its amazing !!!! I love it but the rm47 is crazy expensive like $550 a gallon just for the hardener. Still love it
Great job on the video. Loved the tech well done. Seemed like there was a lot of work from everyone involved. Appreciate all that
there is no good reason for me to watch this, but i watched every minute.
Great video 👍🏾💪🏾👊🏾
Now I know that painting a vehicle is so expensive good job Casey you're in that industry
Danyon great video very easy to understand!!
Really cool video Erick!
Great video thanks for the post.
Great video. When do we get to see grandpa's truck?
Wow extremely impressed I’ll be taking my 2004 bmw m3 as soon as the mechanical is ready I already bookmark the shop !
Great info from Basf
It’s good to see that you forget to pop the vent plug on the Sata cup too.🤣🤣
Learn a lot from
This video ❤
Danyon amazing job on the education!!!
Right about the 21:00 minute mark the Paint Rep talks about chemically stripping a fender to bare metal and to neutralize it says use soap and water instead of a cleaner. Is that a wise move considering it is bare sub straight? It introduces water to a zinc coated metal and could now potentially rust even though it still looks like fresh clean metal!
Nick Wallace every chemical stripper is different. It is important to follow their TDS for proper procedure. We use KleenStrip Aircraft paint remover which will remove all film except for the factory phosphate. After you neutralize the stripper with water, you sand off the factory coating and are now dealing with bare metal (you never use water at this stage).
Moinsen ich lebe in deutschland kenne dich von gasmonky und deine paintjobs sind einfach die besten hoffe du kannst überhaupt deutsch 😅
Thank you.
Great video. Always glad to see different ways that shops do things. How hard was it to spray with the GoPro on the gun haha. Thanks for sharing
Wonder how many red bulls this guy goes through in a day!! Good video...no mention made of TACK RAGS, oh wait basf must not make tack rags! LoL 😂
andrew c we actually do! The part number is B120 lol
Yeah a bit of annoying tweakage with the gum chewing!
Kc is a great guy
yall should start putting a products used section in the description
Good salesman!
I did put the gray primer seller on thick and sanded it down blocked it down
I am an ASE Master tech since 1978, who has done body work and painted a small number (6-8) completes to keep 3 boys and 1 girl that is still unable to use an automotive mirror.
So after 45 years, I am doing an old school classic truck for myself for a change.
Question; At 16:32 your tech began with clear. I watched 5 times, but nothing about gun, tip size or PSI for your RM DC5300 HS.
Also, a tool is useful if you use it. Your coatings thickness tool, shown in Mils, does touching the panel (Brand / Model unknown) that useful as the TDS should put us real close on our build up as we add product, or is this required for documentation to obtain a warranty? Should just video tape you checking my work? Thanks, hope you comment!
DK, ASE master tech since 78, retired.
What was the material cost for this job? $1100 .... If you were doing this in a collision shop you would be broke. seriously the products are great but he used 3 different cleaners. Insurance companies are quickly eroding the industry. Great info though
I would love for these two guys to paint my dad’s truck
wow I got here early...…...It was a cool info spot lol ……………...It needed K.c. clowning around to break up all the seriousness
kc , you should try a ws400!!!! Stata what, lol! seriously its worthit. I to was a die hard stat guy to.
Lol Kirchner same name as me! Hell yeah
I kinda wanted to see grandpas truck
It's currently being assembled. I'll have some follow up video on it soon.
cool thanks for replying
Erick Barrandey
I would like too see G-POPS face when this truck is delivered!!!🤯👍🏻
Dale Hall me too but I don't think I'll be making the trip to Massachusetts.
Erick Barrandey
Kc using a transporting company too ship it🤔
Depending on which DTM primer brand/company you use... DTM primer will do the same thing as epoxy primer.. i have a hybrid multipurpose primer that is blended with anti corrosive epoxys.... put 3 coats on and your good to go
Hey Eric could you find out where we can buy those rags they are using to clean the surface please!
I think this guy knows his crap about paint. I felt like I was back in Thermodynamics.
Future paint job for the Z Eric?
lol KC wiped the gas filler door with out wetting right after explaining why they wet. LOL break them rules KC
Junkman likes this
Hi Danyon!!! LOL
What was the relative humidity/temp when sprayed? Booth temps?
Daniel Scott around 100 degrees F and 80% RH
Danyon411
YEAH DEFINITELY...DEFINITELY 100.2 F at 81.5% RH😎 Yeah...
you should wear a hairnet
what brand pump sprayer are you using for your solvents? Thanks
This bloke can talk under water
I want to see ur grandpas reaction to the revealed
Awesome KC. When does BASF drop off the new Contender fishing boat, or the new Ford truck?? Jesus Christ bro. Is that where we are now? Fuck it. Make your money. Just remember, you've never seen a Brinks truck in a funeral procession.
what kind of lint free wipes are you all using?? Thanks
😵💫👍 got it
I feel like I need to buy some BASF stuff now. And I don't even paint.
I will take 3 shamwow`s thank you.
Am i the only one who noticed the voice crack at 19:19 hahaha?
I’m early
That guy can yak !
In real life if you spent that much time and material to do a repair you are losing CASH FAST!
Nice video ! Kc don't hate me but for some reason you look like a oompa loompa 13:40 lol but love the video!
I thought you were going to paint an Audi race car...
Why are these guys giving away trade secrets?
If you do these steps you can only paint one car a week for a production shop 😂🤣 to much down time to much material spending insurance companies or shop owners will go broke by the time they paint one fender lol!!
now days most of the majority shops are flat rate and we as self employed/ employees need to finish the jobs fast to make quick money with your system it sounds and looks good no doubt but we will lose our jobs and shops will close if they follow this process I don’t think any DRP shops will not even bother take this option of repair because it will cost them tons of money and time.
That BASF guy wears funny socks.
You should wear sunglasses in your videos. I know it sounds douchey but it keeps the viewer from noticing that your eyes are darting a millions different directions.
Bull shit products, just a way to spend a shit load of money.
Agree 100%
BASF is going to have a cow after they see you in shorts and running shoes bruh. Not to mention spraying epoxy without PPE
This guy might as well be speaking Chinese, Who the hell knows what all those numbers are, A BASF nerd!
KC.. You are like a robot with that gun. Awesome control.
