PULSE OF PUSHKAR - Travel Film

A high octane travel short film showcasing the charmful madness and the contagious energy of the age old holy city of Pushkar.
Come November and the city springs to life with Pushkar Mela - A congregation of the greatest camel fair in the world coupled with festivities of Karthik Purnima that floods the sleepy town with millions of tourists, devotees, traders, herdsmen and ofcourse photographers.
Energy of the place is beyond what words could describe. Every inch of this land is occupied with humans, camels, horses, cattle and what not. Having shot this fair in all its glory for the last 5 years in a row, this time around I decided to push myself to film the grandeur. Idea was to keep it simple and capture the lighter moments on the go - coupled with the orchestra of sounds and noises, each of which add to the personality of the land and yes, I made the camels sing to my tunes.
I filmed for 7 days straight - walking the streets of Pushkar at an average of 15 kms a day - hunting for little moments of craziness with a dash of humor, that the place had to offer. At the end of each day, I did a quick edit of the video and prepped myself for the next days filming. This helped me shoot better with proper planning and gave me an idea as to where the video was heading. By the time I departed Pushkar, final edit was already done. Once back in Dubai, did the fine tuning of the clips, graded the footage and added sound effects as and where necessary and here we are.
