hey my friend, which layout have you used? I see one on the wall at 1:44 did you do any potentiometer grounding or other grounding? is it free of hum/noise when not playing sounds?
Thanks for making this video! Super interesting to see your process, I’ve been considering building one of these kits but the project seems quite intimidating. Your video definitely helps demystify some of the confusing areas.
Beautiful amp! Very clean layout and assembly. I’m sure it sounds as good as it looks. Love that it has a tube bias Trem...so much better than the Photo Cell IMHO. Love this circuit, but really enjoy it better with a 12” speaker. If you ever want to change it out to a 12” (or want a different 10”), the Jupiter LC is a GREAT replacement. Kind of luke warm about the Jensens?
I’m using this amp as part of a stereo rig with another amp that has a 12 inch speaker, so my thinking was trying to get the best of both worlds combining the two sizes. And indeed it works quite well! I actually also enjoy the 10 inch by itself. I actually haven’t had the need to push the basses over 5 so far.
@@robinmarchal5752 10” is the traditional Princeton sound, for sure! The Alnico starts to flabby if you push it hard? If you ever feel like the Jensen isn’t holding up, I highly recommend the Jupiter LC (they make a 10” size). It’s 50watts and can handle anything the Princeton throws at it. Breaks up great, but has absolutely amazing clean sounds.
See video: Psionic Audio - Fender Princeton Reverb Reissue | Upgrades for Reliability & Tone . . . if you want Deeper Tremolo. It looks and sounds phenomenal. You did an amazing job. Enjoyed your video. Love Princeton Reverb's.
You really did a nice job with this one. I make my life a little bit easier by installing a bias pot. You can grid bias the tubes as a pair. Uncle Doug also has a youtube on a pot in the reverse feedback loop. I also add a presence cap only or cap on a pot on the reverse feedback loop. It's a little bit of work, but you get a much fuller, rounder sound with more mid punch. I love the AA1164. ua-cam.com/video/DirM9fuUhJo/v-deo.html
Marchal is a proper name for a clone builder.
Can you do a video with more detail on how you made the faceplate?
Very nice work, Robin!
Great video, pacing & detail. You're right about wanting a sound demonstration at the end, then it would be perfect!
Check it out over there ;) : ua-cam.com/video/Bkc8uFXcS6E/v-deo.html
@@robinmarchal5752 Lovely playing & sweet tone! One of my favourite tunes I love to play too. Top bananas Daddio!

Go to rob robinette's excellent website:

Noise floor should be low if the wiring is done well ;)

@@robinmarchal5752 It sounds amazing!!!
Great job and a wonderful finished product. Even if it only sounds half as good as it looks....
Congratulations and that for sharing the build.
+++ fantastic work+++ build with so much love it must be sounding great+++
Amazing build, so detailed and beautiful.
It’s a beauty!
Hello, the two strips of wood on the reverb base, was it just pine wood? what size of wood screws? ..... thanks...
Yes these are juste two thin strips of pine. I can't remember what screws I used, they just need to fit though the holes in the reverb tank.
Beautiful AA1164. Nice job.
You did an Amazing job!
please post a video of how it sounds!

Hi! Do u remember what the color of the cabinet tolex and grillcloth is called? It’s beautiful.
It's pretty much that: www.tube-town.net/ttstore/tolex-rough-blonde-creame.html ;)
If you still check this, can I buy a faceplate from you with my own logo??
Great build!!! Can you make a faceplate for my build?
Thanks! I'll contact you if you write down an email address in the reply to this message ;)
Looks and sounds fantastic. Would you be willing to share the design files for your faceplate?
