Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 тра 2019
- Thule’s Helium Aero bike rack is nearly half the weight of an average bike rack, making it easy to install and remove. This rack has multiple points of security for the bikes such as the HoldFast RDT (Road Dampening Technology) Cradles, No-Sway cages, and an integrated cable lock. No tools are necessary to install this rack and the included SnugTite Stinger lock provides maximum stability and security for the rack.
-Carries 1 to 3 bikes at up to 35 lbs. each (110 lbs. total carrying capacity)
-Compatible with all vehicles equipped with either a 1-1/4” or 2” receiver hitch

Thanks for this EASY demonstration! Put mine on in 5 minutes!
Great detail
Very informative! Thanks...
I just installed our two bike rack by Thule. I am having an issue with my wife's bike. It doesn't seem have the space to sit on the rack easily. Any ideas? Seriously, the bars are not spaced on the bike frame enough to slide over the Thule frame. Not very happy with that... The regular frame is easy enough. Great video. Thanks
Looks super cool wish they weren't so damn expensive.. also I don't see how three bikes can fit there
I would also secure the front wheel
I do have that great rack, but can not fit 3 mountain bikes, space is very limited ..... maybe 3 route or smaller bikes
As far as I can tell, the keyed lock seen at 1:49 --- AND the cable lock at 3:58 --- are both completely useless. Why? Because at 2:24, we see the weak link in the chain: a standard hex bolt that anyone can unbolt in about 7 seconds, walking off with all your bikes AND half the rack in one move. What a ridiculous oversight, especially considering Thule hid the pivot hardware at the top of the same unit!
The only way I can see around this is to get a long cable lock.... and lock your bike frame directly to the area on your hitch receiver where your towing chains attach.
I suppose you can say the same thing about the cable itself. Anyone with high leverage cable cutters can easily snap it in 5 sec. I think the whole point is to make it difficult for just any Joe Schmo to grab your bike and ride away. A professional thief is going to come prepared and regardless of what security measures you have in place they'll defeat them.
As my grandpa always said, a lock only keeps the innocent out, as the criminals know how to get in faster than you do with a key!
So don't buy one...
What stops the front wheel from flopping around or hitting your car?
You can get a strap (mine came with one) to secure the front wheel to the frame which will keep it from swaying as you travel.
a bungee cord
