That's how it is everywhere, old people are hating on younger people, they don't offer any guidance, just hating because the world changed around them and they weren't ready for it. Young people need the right influences around them. Real leadership.

The scene with the guy in the bathrobe and kid throwing fireworks where Ed Wuncler starts shooting is a parody of Boogie Nights. If you know the scene, you'll appreciate it more
I find this episode to be one of the funniest because in the song Eff Grandad he says “my house is paid for no rent no lease” but in this episode there is a mortgage on the house 😂😂 but Thugnificent is one of my favorite characters

At the end of the day, Thugnificent was these younger cats at one point, and these younger cats will be him at some point. That's just the way these things go. I remember 80s rappers shitting on 90s & 2000s rappers the same way. And m'fers from those latter eras returning the animosity back to the 80s cats. Everyone has their own eras and periods. Personally, I haven't really been able to enjoy new music since the early or mid 2010s, so my playlists just stay on some old shit, and I'm fine with that. I'm just aging out of the game.
A year late but I'll say my Peace: Basically not much new music to look forward to since it's mostly just mumble rap, remakes of old songs, or just plain uninspiring songs that don't have soul to it, now once in a blue moon something sparks interest but with the Internet being more rapid with everyone being on their phones the fame only lasts a week and then they move on, personally I blame overconsumerism and companies focusing on *Now* instead of *Later* We all go back to the past songs because we felt a connection due to being limited to only radio or iPods so we took time to appreciate while the artists took time to enjoy their hit single.

The bit where the fat dude has a heart attack is from Monty Python's Life of Brian. They had another reference from Monty Python when Ed and Rummy shoot up the store in season 1.
8:37 the reason the old heads hate is because a lot of the new stuff lacks the actual ability of being talented at stringing your music together. It went from having substance and having to actually be talented to there being no substabce and only money and brand deal driven. Like music thats made just to make money and no other purpose than to try and be commercially successful. A lot of older rappers have tried to spit game and put the new ones up on the info and the new dudes didnt care or want to hear it. Then thats when they all got bitter towards the nee guys lol. It went from everyone having their own styles and being unique to every rapper just being clones of other rappers that hit high margins of success and then people just copy and pasting the same thing.
Seriously, how many artists fell off because they got caught up chasing trends instead of doing what made them big in the first place? Thugnificent fell off the same way. He heard his style wasn't on top anymore and tried to copy crap he didn't feel. Countless artists of every stripe fall into that trap of trying to weigh and quantify what is popular creatively, and they lose their muse somewhere along the way.
Yep, lots of artists ended up falling for this and it's not just a thing relegated in rap/hip-hop. Alot of dudes from the 80's Glam Metal scene went down the same path in the 90's when Nirvana and Grunge became the next big thing. The biggest example I can think of is Motley Crüe. They tried chasing trends to stay relevant and MAN did they crash for it. That's just ONE example of the phenomenon promptly dubbed "Nirvana killed my career"
I actually met Vlad years ago. i went to my spot to pick up his mixtape and my spot was sold out and he said Vlad was suppose to drop some off later that day and as i turn to walk out i bumped into him. so dude was like that's Vlad right there. back then i didnt know he was a big Russian dude. i never saw him before that. so i got the mixtape from Vlad personally.
14:31 don’t judge him man, it’s HIS mental breakdown and he can go through it how he wants. When you have your mental breakdown you can choose to be fully dressed for it if you want. Lol
You know, they never said she at least acknowledged Leonard’s reliability, Homie was with them thrown through right to the end when things got super bad. Even when he wasn’t a rapper no more he still stuck by him how many real friends can you say you have like that ride or die?
And that's like 12 years ago. When I was like a kid, peope were saying that Outcast was some lame excuse for hip hop,/destroying the game and all. It was sooooo bad, that It was going to die in a week or something. Now it's classic! Gonna play "Miss Jackson" now :D
This was a good episode watching it back now that I'm older. Didn't really connect with Thugnificent much but he's pretty interesting how he fell off and his ego got in the way that fucked him up. Yeah! Edd probably could've helped him out but most of the money he ha is his grandfather's who I don't see giving to a rapper tbh. Could've gotten him a job setting up security systems or something though. lol once he told Edd not to fuck shit up I'm thinking you got a crazy drug dealer or former one with a short tempered entitled MF with a happy trigger. This shit was bound to go crazy, just took a very surprising turn. And yeah about the rap stuff you totally right, feels like it's jealous at young artists combined not having the successful lifestyle you once had when you fall off. More about competition than innovation. Truly tragic, music like any other art needs to flourish with new ideas and outlets, not being stifled by some asshole that refuses to change. Though I kinda get Thugnificent's frustrations, he grew up poor and wanted thdr shit to last. All that gold Around his house! Bro he was living! Ohhh and the fat dude in the recorder dealers house had a heart attack. Ohh yeah and fuck get you a friend like Lenard, literally spent his whole check on Thugnificent's songs, rides his bike and gets him food. Shoot I liked seeing Flow too
Why is Ed so off-model in this episode? Dude looks like Jackie Earle Haley or something. Had it not been for the necklace I wouldn't have recognized him.

Nah but he pointed the IRS in his direction too which is pretty fucked up 😂💀
@christopherross8976 in grandad's defence they would've find him eventually, plus the IRS went to grandad's house , it's not like he called them 😉
It's funny how the only one that stuck around was Leonard, and he stuck to his word. About what he was going to do if the music didn't work out.
And then his other homeboy got him an interview and he got him fired that is lower than low.
I don't blame Derek/Flow for leaving him behind. The dude struck his neck out for his friend and his friend cut his throat!

I think Thug going broke is kind of cosmic payback for sending Gangstalicious away, and just because Licious liked dudes.
