    I've had my 2015 Impala 2LTZ(3.6L) for 8 months now and am very pleased with it. I bought it to be a long distance highway cruiser and it is everything I could want. It's a little too big for around town as parking lot lanes seem to be getting more narrow, but on the open road it's a gem. As to this video, We've made two roundtrip trips from Coastal North Carolina to Cleveland, OH and back through the Va and WVA mountains and averaged 29.9 both times. Just set the cruise control, bring up some tunes on the XM, lean back and relax. This car is a winner.

      Can anyone tell me why my 2016 Impala LTZ is only getting seven to nine miles per gallon in the city I feel like I should be driving a Hummer instead

    I'm leasing a 2016 Impala 2LT with a V6 motor since September 2015. I love the car. No complaints. I now love driving again.

    For the life of me, I don't understand why this car does not sell well at all, I rode one about a year ago and if you had blindfolded me, I would have thought I was riding a high end luxury car.

      @TJC450 9 років тому +2

      pedrof830 Probably because of the pre gen.

      TJC450 It get zero publicity from GM, only those in the know are even aware this car exists. It's a shame that GM does not promote this car, all you hear about is CUV's and Cadillac.

      pedrof830 It gets a lot of publicity on the internet! Facebook, Twitter, etc.

      pedrof830 One problem is that Chevy still sells the previous gen as a current model with the same name to fleets. Causes a lot of confusion for people... I really do not understand why Chevy's marketing team agreed to have the old horrible generation continue to sell with the same nameplate. Why any manufacturer would want to alienate buyers this way is beyond me.

      +pedrof830 I have a soft spot for Impalas. I've owned several starting with a 71 (270 HP, 350 4 BBL.) All good cars. Not perfect and not for the person who lusts after ultimate high performance but. just good honest cars that stuck with you year after year with minimal fuss or expense. I've had an 03 for 11 years now and she still runs perfectly @ 140k miles. I'm not a hard driver but I like to cruise the highways @ 70-75 mph for hours on end and that seems to be a sweet spot for my car. Good mileage for a big (or most any) car at that speed and it's comfortable, quiet, and roomy. Mine has a 3.4, factory upgrade sound system and comfortable cloth power seats. I'll be sad to see her eventually wear out. A totally pleasing car for me at least.

    I've had my 2016 Impala LTZ for 3 years this month, and I have to say I've never had any trouble out of car the whole time. I get proper scheduled maintenance, I use the proper fuel, and I've driven from Texas to Virginia on several occasions with no hiccups.

    Just picked-up a gorgeous Red-Jewel Tintcoat V6 2015 LTZ with Black Leather interior, & the 20" rims.
    Maybe it's just me, but I COULD CARE LESS about gas mileage!!!! As long as it's nice to drive, roomy, & looks this good, I love it!!

    Hey Dan, I came across your V6 Powered Impala here and was curious how the HWY Mpg is compared to my 2.5 4 CYL. Impala 2017 LT model People do not believe me when I say I can get over 35 MPG HWY on a Loop from Mass to NH and Back. The city I still average 21 using the Remote Start alot. I was doing 23 City when I don’t use remote start. Nice Car and Handles Very Well. No complaints except I am going to miss the Impala Name plate. Nice work as always Dan.

    I had one as a loaner and was able to get 29-30 on my daily commute of mostly highway. I liked the styling but didn't like the interior (1LT). I imagine the LTZ with all of the goodies would be one nice car for a road trip.

    That's about the mileage I got today from Phila to Cape May Nj. I notched my first 1000 miles on it today also. Brand new LTZ iridescent pearl tricoat. Fun to drive and to look at- interior and exterior.

    How's the cabin noise? Is it near the levels of a Lexus or Chrysler 300C? This car is one of the vehicles I'm considering to get next year.

      +Ernesto Nuguid GM's done a nice job of it. You should drive them back-to-back, if possible.

      The tires provide road noise. But that is because it requires performance tires on it.

    Great video, amazing how the thing almost idles at freeway speeds.
    Can you do a 2015 Corolla? When I get on the freeway I average 43-47mpg with cruise control set to 65, which is amazing

      Thanks, Bad Drivers of the DC Area! Nice highway numbers from your Corolla! I've driven the 2015 Corolla briefly, but it was a while back. Not sure if I'll get to do a review, but it may be a possibility at some point in the future.

      +MPGomatic Have you ever test drove a Chevy Equinox? Or a Ford Edge? Or a GMC Crossover SUV? Or a Ford Explorer or Ford Mustang or Chevy Camaro? And that 2015 Impala you drove can go from 0-60 in a heartbeat!

      kjchicago1 I've spent time with all of them, although I haven't been in the new Camaro yet. Looking forward to testing the different engines. There are two 2015 Mustang reviews here in the MPGomatic channel.

    Kinda curious to see the fuel economy for a speed average of around 75 mph in that particular gen... I seem to average 27 or 28 mpgs in my 15 year old impala at that speed...

    A Honda Odyssey should get similar numbers to what you got in this test lol...CR actually got 34 mpg with the impala at a steady 65mph (may have been base v6 model though)

    can any owners here or MPGomatic comment on noise level on different types of pavements ?

    • @mpgomatic
      @mpgomatic  8 років тому

      That's largely a factor of the tires. Are you looking for a new Impala or previously owned? Check TireRack for owner feedback?

    • @uos64
      @uos64 8 років тому

      +MPGomatic I am looking for a 2014 used , I am also in central nj and roads here are pretty rough as you know. I am wondering how worse are noise levels compared to its siblings Buick Lacrosse and Cadillac XTS. thanks for your response.

      +u os Go to a big dealer that might possibly have all three on the lot and ask to drive them back-to-back? Take note of the tires.

    Dude, get a calculator, pen and paper out if you're serious about fuel mileage. I've yet to find an onboard computer that was accurate.
