Thanks for sharing this on UA-cam, my neighbor has a huge tree and I never thought to harvest them. Next season I'll be using this info and enjoy the pecans.
Our tree was loaded this year. I have to pick them just a wee bit early; otherwise, I get zero and the squirrels will rob me blind and get them all. I pick them in mid-Sept and let them ripen a few more weeks in their husks. In October-November, they will be fully ripened and ready to shell.
Thanks this video will help when its time to harvest. My chicken run, for the last 6 years, is around the base of one 100 ft pecan tree. This year we have hundreds of pecans on that one tree. The others have not done so well. I'm thinking its the good fertilizer. :)
This is the only video I've found showing exactly what to look for on my pecan tree. BIG THANKS
Beautiful tree. Thanks for sharing

Interested video. Do you think you could roast the pecans inside the husk in a fire.
Thank you for this, very useful for me!
thanks don't have them in Ohio but good to know chickens or use for fishing. Salom
Are they native, seedling trees, or grafted cultivars?
What is the best way to clean the pecans after picking up kill possible parasites etc
Epic, but let them fall first, and don't eat them if there are holes in shell.
Do pecan trees grow wild in the Ozarks?
