Give me a GP-15 anyday. I remember as a teenager seeing them on the Conrail Cleveland line new in the summer of 1976. First BLUE locomotives I ever saw. They were replacing the all the Penn Central F-7A roster numbers. When I get rich one day, I'm gonna buy one, have it overhauled. painted in Conrail colors and place it in my backyard for you all to come visit.
I love the GP15s too! For me though, back in the early 90s as a young kid, the first Geep I saw was a Conrail GP38-2, running light power past the Amtrak station in Depew, NY on the Chicago Line. Railfanning was so much better back then! The variety of locomotives, the foreign power (Santa Fe warbonnets, the BN green, and the C&NW yellow). Makes me wish I never lost my VHS tapes from those days.
@@mattygunn693 I agree, I love trains but today there is a lack of color and variety. I subscribed to you Matty. The GP-15 is just so cool. EMD saved a lot of rail managers butts with that model in the late 70s. I have documentation on EMD sale figures and it's my favorite lite loco. But again, I love anything made in Lagrange and Muncie. If you buy a GP-15 (any version) today, it's a deal. Second choice is GP-38-2. I lived in Erie 1989 for 6 months and drove past that test track everyday. Fun times. I was invited to the GE plant in 89. They gave me the custom solo tour I love both brands. It's in my DNA. My great grandfather worked ay ALCO. I own many builder photos of pre WW-2 electrics.
A comment, those GP15's,ex-???,ex-???,ex-???- ?? And that GE electric, from ???,and seeing the LI FA,at the other end of the state amazing, had a few photographs of that engine in revenue service! If I remember correctly, that was an ex-Western Maryland engine! Anyway, there are always surprising in odd locations! Thank you for the aerials, really nice work! Thank you 😇 😊!
All good stuff, love the GeePs, great video!
Thanks!
Interesting to watch the support truck throwing switches and making joints. No conductor riding the last car !
Thanks for the show Matty
Thanks for watching!

The unused steel mill makes me sad, the new GP15’s make me happy! 🇺🇸
All those train bridges at 9:01 wow !!
Geeps are good.

IMRR 1550 is ex-CR, the other two GP15s are probably ex-UP, and the GE is an old Niagara Junction Railway E10B.
Maybe, just Maybe the two new / used GP15's the WNYP got will look this good soon.
@@jimkelton4052 The WNYP actually has four GP15s, and one is already painted in an Erie-style scheme.
Seems like the latest loco fad to have, is GP-15's!
They must be good, reliable engines.
@@mattygunn693 I would think GP-38's or 40's would be better?
