I sometimes go exploring in my dune buggy with my 9 1/2ft Kayak on the roof. Gives me some shade and extra storage space. Love what you have done with the buggy.
Cool video. Looks like you found a off road vehicle friendly town. No license plate required. 👍👍👍you also have a cool girl there who seems like shes actually in to it. Your lucky. Thx for posting.
Bought a 67 vw sand rail buggy today, watched all your videos about the build (3:25 AM here lol) love your project and your attitude, like you drove it with your girl!! Planning to do the same!!
This was a great series! I watched the whole thing. There were some major fabrication skills on display in this project. You gave me ideas on what you can do with a play buggy I didn't have before. As regards that smoking trailer tire: Always carry spares on the roof and, that's what that turning brake is for - to lock up the spinning wheel so the other one gets traction.
"Out of control"? No way my friend. After about 4 years of 4x4ing ...shit happens on the trails we all have to deal with. Part of the fun. You did well. My 70' rail project has now kicked into gear! And I thank you. Wish there was a group of us rail guys, like my 4x4 buddies.
Back in the day guys would put front on back and ride with 3 wheels, the vw torsion front allows you to run 3 tires if you need to get out of woods. Its easy to carry tubes and irons too.
Mine has a 1641 dp with a Engle 110 cam. Pertronics 009. 1.2 ratio rockers. I rev the poop out of it. Been wanting to go on that trip for a while. I’m subbed!
I've seen a few videos of the Hatfield McCoy system. In general, it looks like great place to ride! Looks like you had your fair share of mud. Awesome first trip after the build! 2 questions about future plans: Going to carry a spare? Going to sleeve those tie rods? Wish I lived closer to ride those areas too!
You are reading my mind. Certainly sleeving the tierods, and maybe making the steering ratio more exciting too. Big tire upgrades in the future. Thanks for watching!
I’ve heard about these trails, it’s good to get to see them in your video. Your videos are very well edited, but still youtube algorithm still doesn’t bestow you with subscribers.
They are 28" on a 15" wheel. They were stock tires off a honda talon if I remember right. Im in the process of moving to 14" SXS wheels and using 30x10x14" tires

I would love to get a VW sandrail and load my 16ft sea kayak on the roof.
I thought I was the only one who would have done something like this.

She is the best! Thanks for the comment
Keep this series going, it's been awesome to watch.
Sweet trip! I’ve been a buggy fan for a long time! The original sxs.

Awesome to hear. Hope you have fun fixing yours up and getting it out on the trails. If you need any help with it let me know!
Thank you for the trail footage!! Makes me want to go ride
Very cool trail. I've got a buggy in California. Would be great to go here sometime. Maybe when it's not quite so wet. LOL.

Wow that trailer tire screwed you on that hill… I feel like with both knobbies, you would have been right up that.

Those trails look sick! We should take a trip with the 4bies sometime.

Looks like a ton of fun! Well earned!
Seeing your newly modded buggy.. it may huge been better to just turbo and upgrade that engine. It was a beast

You need a vice mounted on the trailer or bumper
Good idea, the truck needs one
Beats the hell out of a 30K Razor need a OH SHIT handle for passenger though.
Need a set of tractor tread paddle tires

Had no idea you could take rails there. What about a Baja bug?
Absolutely! Theres 3 trail systems there that allow "full size" things where your baja would be perfect
Hey bud what tires are those?
How tall are those tires? Also do you know your wheel base?
They are 28”. Wheelbase is about 95”
What air B&B?
Carry some ether so you can pop those beads back in the easy way.
Hey what yr is ur front suspension, I have the same one but don't know the yr ??
Mine is “link pin” which I believe was used on 65 and older beetles. Newer than that looks similar but uses balljoints and 4 lug hubs
What size tires are you running? Sorry
They are 28" UTV tires on a 15" wheel

Hi i had some questions about tuning/ getting a tune done. is there somewhere that i can dm you?
Hi Brandon. I’m not taking any new customers at this time but if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Tread lightly
I see gloves in the future
Do a burnout!
It is difficult when you go alone, get some friends who have a buggy so that you do not go alone
