I also show you something new to my camping collection which will help me go wild camping.

Ive just ordered one of these for a festival at the end of August and i think ive solved the storage space problem : kick the 2nd man out and say "get yer own tent pal" and i find that leaves plenty of room for my gear 😁

I bought one recently and have used it for Moto camping. It is bigger and bulkier than I would prefer, but the ease of pitching, particularly in recent bad weather, made it my preferred choice over my other tent.
It stood up very well in very heavy rain and storm force winds.
I did, however, find it very cold at night. Perhaps the Fresh and Black coating stood it warming up. I was in a 3 season sleeping bag in May and July and had to put several layers on.
Putting it back into the stuff sack is a faff as well, there is no neat way of doing it that I can work out !

Great in-depth video , perhaps the most detailed of this tent on UA-cam. The one stupid thing holding me off from this tent is having an irrational fear of someone drunk on the campsite pushing the button and collapsing the tent on me
Thank you and I would guess that if they were really drunk...Then they would probably have double vision. Would see two buttons and most likely press the one that wasn't there anyway haha I've never had such and instance if that helps.

I love this tent.
From the first time I got it,it was love at first site and I think it will be a great love affair.
When iam at a campsite,or in car an just lug it out to some wld area or beach,it is perfect instant shelter/ home.
Quality seems amazing for the price(£119).
BTW,I have a lightweight tent for my backpacking trips(1.5kg)

Hi Alan. I'm happy that you have one too and love it so much. It really is a fantastic feature packed tent.
For me last year it was great because after a 225 mile drive up to The Lake District during the middle of the night and then not being able to get to my campsite until 1pm. The last thing I needed was a tent that was cumbersome to set up. Especially as it was a one night stay before moving to another campsite.
Two cord to pull and 6 pegs for the tent plus guide ropes is as quick and easy as it needs to be. it is an excellent tent in many regards and as you say at a very good price.
My first wild camp is coming soon (hopefully) and for that I'm using a much heavier tent. The Naturehike Cloud Peak 2.

I just picked up what I assume is the non-blackout version, we have them at the Wal-Mart I work at on clearance for $25 which was too good to pass up since it started at $160. I popped it up and down once and fell in love with it. I have other pop-ups and a lot of tent varieties but I couldn't pass up that value for a back up or extra for the occasional extra guest on our outdoor happenings. Cheers!
Thanks for your comment. Yeah it's incredibly quick and easy to set up. The none blackout version is identical other than the white exterior and dark bedroom. It's ideal after a long drive to a campsite when you just want to pitch up and get some rest.
I see it's quite big, but would be perfect for sitting on the pillion seat of my motorcycle and being so easy to set up seems a good enough compromise
If to exclude blackout then can't beat Ferriono Kalahari and if I'm not mistaken then quick clips are also on Coleman tents now. You don't have to push through the poles any more for a really long time except really really cheap tents. Even my 25 eur tent had quick clips.

This tent looks like the ultimate solution for quick overnight stays but I still went with the Dometic Pico 2x2. My main rasons were visbility (the Dometic is way less noticeable if you want to stay stealthy) and choice of materials, the climate in a polycotton made tent is still way better than in a polyester made "fresh&black" tent. The added pump is way slimmer than the one you showed off and also used to pump up the matress. I may still give the Decathlon tent a try later this year, just for fun. Very well made video indeed.
Thank you. Yes I do like the Decathlon brand but I'm also open to other brands on the market. With this particular tent I was intrigued by it and just couldn't get it out of my mind until I purchased it.
Dometic Pico 2x2 is great but also 5x the price of this bad boy
@@Nocoty94 I actually own both now but use the Decathlon much more often (it's faster to set up, and in combination with an Exped Megamat 10 more comfortable to sleep on, lighter and even less expensive). The weak point of the Dometic is the integrated air matress, it's simply too thin for a side sleeper like me. Yes it can be removed but if I exchange it for the Exped Megamat the total weight is close to double of the Decathlon kit
I just bought one for motocamping in June 2023 over 5 days, the dark inside will be great for the trip in June, in Scotland it does not get dark until after 10.30 and after a long ride the easier to put up the better. I have put elastic cord on the pulls so I can peg them and stop them drumming the outer in the wind I also swapped out the steel pegs for thick alloy pegs with points. I am lone rider camping so the storage is not a problem and I can store all my bags inside and just leave my boots out, now seeking the best anti midge to take I have a head net, military formula deet and Jungle formula.
Was wondering how this worked out for you Moto camping. I have an adventure bike KTM 690 Enduro R and was trying to figure out if this is just to big to pack on a bike.
I love your videos, they are entertaining and informative! I currently use a 2 seconds 2 pop up tent, but looking for a bigger one, and this one looks great! Here in Germany they only sell the fresh and black version, tho, and I would prefer the normal one. Keep the great videos coming. Oh, and Buster is so cute 😍
Awww how lovely of you. I've been filming most of yesterday and today for a video. A video I'm going to try and get out on Wednesday. Filming and editing simultaneously at times today was hard work believe me haha.

@@mieke0076 testing is the key. Where ever you can to gain experience is good. Whether that's a porch or a garden
Experience is often the key to a successful experience further down the line. I'm lucky to have my garden and now testing the gear I need for wild camping.
Last night we had 7 degrees c during the night but I was still cold. So a thicker sleeping bag for the wild camp it will have to be. Plus a hat as my head was cold. But without that test. I probably would have gone wild camping and had a lesser experience because I didn't test beforehand.
My first solo camping trip I had a two person tent. A double airbed. My duvet and every imaginable gadget out there. But after time you learn. You realise the gear you are taking that is useful and the gear that isn't. It is a learning process and what suits one person may not suit everyone. That first camping trip that I did. The car was rammed full of camping equipment but gradually you find your own way. You buy the gadgets and the gear that's suits your needs.
It's not easy and it's a personal thing to and I certainly don't have a the answers. Because just like everyone else. With each time I set the tent up for a night. I learn.

Excellent review, I understand it was made quite some time ago. On the bad points you mentioned, just bring an extra tarp for a footprint and fold it to the correct size, I honestly don’t see what the big deal is, as far as storage you should never store food inside a tent, the food will leave smells or crumbs and you’ll have anything from mice, squirrels to bears attracted to the tent. I got a great deal on one at Walmart, is not the blackout type but I actually like it better, I never take naps and in a rainy day you’ll be stuck inside a super dark tent but that’s just me. Love your video, you covered pretty much every single detail and that’s much appreciated.

No I have a 3 person tent and a footprint that I fold in half for the 3 person tent. It fits my 4 person tent brilliantly. But folded in half it fits my 3 person tent nicely too.
As for the food I always have any food in small sealed bags or units and never camp for more than 3 to 4 days anyway.
Also in The Lake District it rains frequently and so sometimes an afternoon nap is good. But yes. Like you say the blackout feature can be a good thing and a not so good thing too. For me as I often like to leave the campsite early for sunrise photos. A blackout tent is ideal. It's down to preference really in the end of rh day... One bad point is that I'm forever loosing my car keys in a blackout tent. So even in the middle of the day I have to turn lights on to find them.

I use it for motorbike camping with friends and it goes well in a 90L eurohike transit bag across the backseat or in a bin liner. I have a much bigger walk in tent with similar pack size. This tent doesnt pack small and is heavy so why do i use it instead of the 4 man walk in tent?
Trying to pitch a large tent solo is a headache. When i get home i live in an upstairs flat so its impossible to dry my large tent easily. This tent has an oversized bag opening and due to internal frame does not need guide ropes unless weather is very windy. By the time my friends have got their tent out of its bag mine is up and pegged. I then use a timberridge steel folding camp bed which fits my large topbox and takes seconds to unfold. My transit bag then lives under the camp bed helmet goes in the top box and bags go in the empty space where a 2nd person would be. for 2 person i would look at camp beds with legs so you can put gear under the beds. The double door and narrow width works well together. unlike a dome with porch tent i dont have to crawl through the porch into the dome. I can open the first and second door and immediately sit in the bucket room where bed 2 would be with my wet boots outside then remove the boots and leave them in the side area shut the door and climb onto my cot. The side area next to my bed i use as extra storage.
It works much better than a porch and dome if like me you dont enjoy crawling. I really need to check the cots with legs to see if i can still sit up in the tent if so it would make getting dressed much easier. My stepdad is going for the MH100 because he doesnt mind building and its much cheaper. The 3p version is massive but around £300?

I just bought the 3 person one. It's 8.2 Kilo's, so not that light either. We camp with two persons and plan to use the extra space for whatever we like to bring with us. My main mistake though, is not realizing that the tent is short. I bought it in the Netherlands and somehow assumed it would be OK. As a male I think I'm just a bit below average length at 191cm (6 foot 3?). That would leave less than 15cm. That's annoying as your sleeping bag always sticks out a bit. Not great when it rains.
Not sure why Decathlon didn't take the average length into account. It just reminds me why Northern Europeans tend to buy Dutch or Scandinavian brands.
I’d like to have seen it being packed away but would welcome your opinion on that aspect of usage.
I honestly thought I had done that in one of my videos but I just checked and I briefly touched upon it where I went camping at Conkers Camping and Carvanning Club in that tent with Bella.
Packing away is pretty easy. Just hold the straps, press the button and fold all four corners in. Flip it over and place in the stuff sack.
Decathlon is no longer selling this model in my country , they are selling only the other circular packed tent 2 second
I would message Decathlon and ask why. They must be loosing a lot of trade as its a popular tent
i wonder what the weight difference is between the fresh and black and the non fresh and black? but i cant find the regular version anywhere
I don't know for sure. But I would imagine that the none fresh and Black version is now discontinued. As I cannot see it on there website either. As for the weight. Maybe the Fresh and Black version would be very sightly heavier due to the interior reflective skin to keep the heat out.

I really like how quick is is to pitch. No storage is a pain so everything ends up outside the tent then you need a tarp incase it rains for your other gear.
I agree it might just be the perfect 1 person tent. It’s a bit of a squash and gets too warm for two people. It’s probably also a 1 night tent.

Yes the ease of setting this tent up is incredible. Last year I drove 240 miles up to The Lake District and the last thing I wanted after a long nights drive. Was to spend ages setting up my tent. So this tent was a breath of fresh air.
As for the footprint. I'd like to see all tents either come with or have the optional extra to buy one. It's just added protection for your tent and that damp in the ground.
I only every really go camping alone. So I would imagine it's a bit of a tight squeeze for two people. And like you say it's a one nighter. Possibly two at a stretch. Any longer and it would feel claustrophobic.

And just how well does it hold up in 30+mph winds? Do the stakeout points rip from the tent body? Do the internal umbrella arms break under snow, ice or wind stress?
I would check Decathlons website for the tents specifications. Where it does state that it was tested in a wind tunnel on a rotating plate.
Well it doesn’t claim to be a 4 season tent, honestly I don’t see anyone with camping experience trying to bring this under snow conditions. As far as wind I believe they claim to be ok up to 30mph winds but I haven’t tested it, basically I just bring a different tent if the weather predictions call for extreme high winds. In my opinion is always best to have multiple tents suitable for the appropriate weather conditions specially if you camp a lot like I do.

Is there a new version 2023 (bigger for 4 people and much smaller to take with us) ? With a decathlon very comfortable (4 seasons) all in one sleeping bag?
There is 3 person version of this tent and you can buy an awning for this 2 person version. That's a recent release. I've just had a look at Decathlons website and couldn't see a 4 person version. As for the sleeping bag. I'm not quite sure what you mean

Maybe I missed it, but how weatherproof, (rain) is this tent? Would this do for moto-camping?
It's quite a large pack size as the framework is inside the flysheet. So for that reason I'd likely say no for Moto-camping. Sadly Decathlon don't give the pack size and mine is in storage at the moment.
It's pretty good in rain. I've not had any issues in that respect. No leaks anyway. The vestibules are handy but not the biggest. So when you open the bedroom door and it's pouring with rain. You can get rain inside
I use it every year it goes across my backseat or in a 90L eurohike transit bag. my bed and sleeping bag go in the top box or pannier. But i just got a 77L cooler so hopefully it will all fit in that. Because of the oversized bag its a godsend if you arrive and its raining you pull it out its bag pull the handles open the door chuck your bags in. you can then peg it later. No building it in the rain with your gloves off you can put this up in full gear with a helmet on. Same thing for packing when its raining . If your storage backs are under your cot bed you can pack everything in a bag put you helmet on step out of the tent and collapse it in seconds into its bag easy strap it all on get home pop it up and let it dry
they send me this tent instead of the 3 person one with 1 exit which is with no 2 seconds mechanism but as i watch maybe its a good that they made the mistake :D
The 2 seconds easy is a great tent. They have just released a newer and larger version as well for three people.
Please review the fly to this tent.....It seems there are holes in it ....which will leak if it rains.
I have reviewed it and never. Not once had leaks in it from rain
