Imagine, if you will, an alternate reality where John Belushi kicked his drug habit and starred alongside Eddie Murphy in Ghostbusters, with this song as the main theme
Lyrics: An apparition walks through your wall He lives in the kitchen, but he died in the hall Who do you talk to? Who can you call? Ghostbusters! We'll take care of it all! Ghostbusters (We believe you) Ghostbusters (Those ghosts will leave you) Ghostbusters (We trap them, we put them away) Could be a demon or a bump in the night You're not dreamin', we're gonna set things right Don't get a sidekick, you just need your team You a man with a sidekick, or a man like me? Ghostbusters (We believe you) Ghostbusters (Those ghosts will leave you) Ghostbusters (Give us a call) Ghostbusters (We trap them, we put them away) You're gone now and it's time to move you out We don't care if you used to own this house We don't care if you used to live here once We don't care if this used to be your room Are you livin' in your world, or are you livin' in mine? Can't live in both worlds. Make up your mind. We're coming to get cha', don't be afraid We'll get cha' you bet cha'! We know the tricks of the trade! Ghostbusters (We believe you) Ghostbusters (Those ghosts will leave you) Ghostbusters (Give us a call) Ghostbusters We believe you We believe you
@frapsap I think you're half right, but at one part I still think they're saying "Don't get a sidekick, you just need your team" mainly because it fits better with the next verse, but what you heard still wouldn't be very out of place in this song. And, thanks for correcting me.

I believe it’s more a demo for the studio’s approval than a finished version. I know one of the artists noted the inexplicably bad mix. It sounds like it’s being played on a radio smothered underneath a pillow.
This song was repurposed, and used in the 1987 Dan Aykroyd & Tom Hanks movie Dragnet! It was retitled "Dance Or Die" and it is on UA-cam: ua-cam.com/video/A7VBJjYWk5I/v-deo.html
Meh... I can see why Columbia Pictures dropped this track, in favor of the one by Ray Parker Jr. This one...doesn't quite sell the concept. But RAY's... That one SELLS IT every time it plays! Like a techno-pop military cadence march chant. Perfect, when you want to assemble an army of paranormal soldiers. WHO YOU 'GONNA CALL? (GHOST-BUSTERS!!)
Somewhere in an alternative universe, this little number is playing in somebody's bedroom and they know none the wiser about the massive hit we all know today😂🎉
*My reaction to the instrumental:* Hey, this is actually pretty catchy! ^w^ *My reaction to the lyrics:* I changed my mind. Can someone hand me a power washer? i need to wash this out of my head. (Seriously, even ignoring the bad singing, the lyrics are just... not that great imo. Blegh)
Was not a fan of the song either. Especially the Missy-E part. "They coming busting in, killing all them ghosts." Ghosts are already dead, that's why they're GHOSTS! My sister likes the 2016 movie more than me, but even she was like "Why didn't they just use the original song?" and this is from someone who hasn't seen the original movie.

Your comment gets me every time because I read it in his voice.
It probably does exist somewhere out there awsome thought.
And John Candy was aloud to have Louis Tully portray the Karl Bildenhausen character from SCTV.
Ghost Smashers.
@@MichiganGhostbusters Hehehe, totally agree!
This was actually remixed and rewritten and used in the movie "Dragnet," as the song "Dance or Die."
I knew it sounded familiar, and I was STILL picturing Dan Aykroyd!
Wow, I can't believe we finally get to hear this.
That’s awesome. Love the 80s experimental sounds.

It could use a lot of refinement, and they clearly made the right choice for the movie's theme, but man. This is still kind of a bop.
I believe it’s more a demo for the studio’s approval than a finished version.

After like 15 times, I think my brain ironically likes this ... Please help.
they've trapped and they've put you away don't worry this song also has me hooked

Lets be glad this is the demo souns to 80s funky
This is the theme that plays on the Ghostbusters DVD from Wish
The version on Tubi

i know right? now we know what time travel and dimensional jumps feel like
I love hughes music but i can't say id take this over the Ghostbusters theme we got

It'd be a lot better if it was mixed, sung, and recorded better.
Theres another version that wasn’t used, that you can hear in the showest promo film.

So glad this didn’t stick. It pales in comparison to the final song.
later Ray based Ghostbusters theme on their song "I Want a New Drug"

Ya saying this is bad?? tuh! for the 80s this is a bop.
I wish they would put this out somewhere in better quality, but this is awesome nonetheless.
Nice
just realized it's basically this songs 40 year anniversary
I can't see it as the original theme. It sits right more alongside saving the day.
I like the music, but not the lyrics. It was nice to be able to hear it though.
After listening to it a few more times. I dig it!
Don’t suppose this song will be available for download on iTunes?
Better than the version by Fallout boy and Missy-E for the 2016 version that sucked.
