Credit to Matt Mulholland for the music. Just a fun one showing progress on flooding. Full video coming this weekend unless I get hit by a bus. Join my discord! discord.gg/KX9FA7F7eq
Should add some buoyancy objects to the mast. Wooden ships tend to lie flat on their sides for a while, because the masts float. Turning turtle is unlikely at first.
The only issue I have with this simulation of sinking is the fact that the ships dominant construction material is timber, and wood is buoyant, the only way that ship would sink totally would be if it broke up into pieces and the heavier parts with metal equipment fixed to it overcame the buoyancy. Other than my little observation you are doing real well so far and I’m looking forward to seeing it completed.
@@markpaterson6024 That's funny too! you were joking about that wooden ships don't sink right? you know ballast, cargo, metal and all the other crap onboard..
@@VikingCarpenter No wasn't joking but was thinking more of modern vessels rather than older ballasted ones. My bad. Still, there would have to be lot of weight onboard to make it sink due to just taking on water. Most likely it would roll over and float inverted due to trapped air pockets.
Thank you. It definitely sinks pretty quickly, but given the amount of metal and other non-buoyant materials onboard wooden ships will definitely still sink. (Poor Vasa went under in minutes, as did the Mary Rose). Obv this one went down super quick, but that's more that I've cranked up the flooding rate for the video.
Thank you. You're right I should probably tone it down a little. I'm aiming for a Western Pacific look rather than Caribbean -- and it can get super foamy. (Chest deep on some beaches), but it's static right now so I need a means of reducing in calmer water.
Tragic, yet undeniably beautiful. Music was perfect!
Still better than Skull & Bones

Bummer dude.
Game looks real interesting!
Hahahahahahhahaahahahahahaha niceeee (my condolence for the sailors)
At least the lifeboat was the right way up 😂
Instructions unclear, poured out the boys.
My boys. :(

You just made my day 😂. Thank you!
@@VikingCarpenter lol thanks 🙏 And to make it even better, I am an Australian Carpenter 👍🔨🔨

RIP (there is a lot of foam on that water sheesh)
Yeah I think it’s too much, considering as it doesn’t look rough enough to generate that much foam.
