    Without God's inspiration, this composition is impossible.

    00:45 We praise thee, O God : we acknowledge thee to be the Lord.
    2:08 All the earth doth worship thee : the Father everlasting.
    3:35 To thee all Angels cry aloud : the Heavens, and all the Powers therein.
    4:39 To thee Cherubim and Seraphim : continually do cry,
    5:02 Holy, Holy, Holy : Lord God of Hosts;
    5:16 Heaven and earth are full of the Majesty : of thy glory.
    5:58 The glorious company of the Apostles : praise thee.
    6:45 The goodly fellowship of the Prophets : praise thee.
    7:05 The noble army of Martyrs : praise thee.
    7:25 The holy Church throughout all the world : doth acknowledge thee;
    8:00 The Father : of an infinite Majesty;
    8:23 Thine honourable, true : and only Son;
    Also the Holy Ghost : the Comforter.
    9:14 Thou art the King of Glory : 10:09 O Christ.
    10:25 Thou art the everlasting Son : of the Father.
    11:05 When thou tookest upon thee to deliver man :
    thou didst not abhor the Virgin's womb.
    12:54 When thou hadst overcome the sharpness of death :
    13:28 thou didst open the Kingdom of Heaven to all believers.
    13:42 Thou sittest at the right hand of God : in the glory of the Father.
    14:35 We believe that thou shalt come : to be our Judge.
    We therefore pray thee, help thy servants :
    whom thou hast redeemed with thy precious blood.
    Make them to be numbered with thy Saints : in glory everlasting.
    [added later, mainly from Psalm verses:]
    16:23 O Lord, save thy people : and bless thine heritage.
    Govern them : and lift them up for ever.
    (17:46) 18:07 Day by day : we magnify thee;
    19:02 And we worship thy Name : ever world without end.
    (19:48) 20:15 Vouchsafe, O Lord : to keep us this day without sin.
    21:30 O Lord, have mercy upon us : have mercy upon us.
    22:00 O Lord, let thy mercy lighten upon us : as our trust is in thee.
    23:15 O Lord, in thee have I trusted : let me never be confounded.

      14:36 does it for me.
      I've been obsessed with movement VI for years now. I broke down the first time I heard it - I was at work and I had to stop listening because I couldn't not react in a way that would have been embarrassing.
      I always find it hard to find anyone who also feels the same way about it, but it's become one of my favorite pieces of music of all time. I find that the way it moves is just so unbelievably paradisal.
      Then the way the root of the chord falls to second inversion (lowest note the third of the chord) at 15:16 hits me in the gut.
      The key change at 15:11, followed by the flute holding the note and the flautist so elegantly embellished the downard run.
      Then the way it hits that dissonance at 15:29...
      To me it's a piece that really says "music at its root about how it speaks to the emotions, the human spirit, the spark of the divine in humankind, not mere theoretical or technical exercises" since the structure of this piece isn't particularly complicated, yet I find it so incredibly moving and rare in that I can't name another piece that I've listened to as incessantly.

    I can totally hear some future interpretations using graindelavoix in some of these movements. Especially in the second movement, it would add so much to the text and meaning.

    Its a great and very mature work, though not so famous as Bachs ones. It still sounds very fresh, and the adds quite worse

    Beautifully sung but…did they transpose down a half step?

      No: it's just that they are playing in a different tuning, similar to what Handel would have heard.
