Half the fun of fiction is treating it like a cypher to be solved and for scenes to be ambiguous where you don’t know exactly what a character is experiencing or thinking in that moment. While I’m glad they have answers ready and know their characters well, it sucks they have to spell it out for the media illiterates and those that have bad faith takes. Some people straight up are projecting their own relationship drama on these characters.😭
Like…Colin and pen aren’t this super hateful or toxic couple. They’ll have angsty moments, especially in part 2, but they aren’t malicious or manipulative when it comes to their love.
I literally get so mad at people calling pen manipulative or pathetic for asking for a kiss.
They really look down at both Colin and pen for being vulnerable this season. I thought she was brave and trying to put to rest the love she had for him. A kiss farewell, meanwhile for him it was a kiss that became a revelation. He could’ve said no it’s not like she strong armed him. 😂 She felt a bit hopeless for a moment and if anything you can spin it on Colin that he was taking advantage of pen in an emotional sensitive state.
People putting a negative spin on the scene because, I’ll bite and say yeah there are coercive instances irl where a friend that wants more guilts you into kissing or more, but…this isn’t that!? Lol
People are conflating so many scenes with the worst possible intentions when the story is so clear as day.
@@surette2012 who saying it’s manipulative what dvmmies are saying that when she literally said it’ll never have to mean anything and she never once talked about that kiss again with him or mentioned it! this is why I love that we have this clarification cuz clearly we can read subtext between the line and don’t need to be spoon fed media but clearly so many in the fandom and locals need it bc what?
And they hate vulnerability as whole because their relationship are with men that are trash who stray them along so they can’t stand or like a healthy beautiful ship that’s build on nothing but mutual respect love and friendship bc they can’t and don’t have it and it’s not some weird trauma or one sided emotional power in balance ship! And Colin would never said no because that’s not the kind of person he is because he’ll always help and do anything for the people he cares about and this cant be seen as taking advantage ever because she wanted it and he gave himself to her and gave off himself like he always does for the people he cares about! this is basically what Violet meant by him being self sacrificing always doing everything to please others another scene the illiterate people couldn’t understand because how can he travel and be one that sacrifice himself 😂 two things can coexist ofc they wouldn’t understand that concept either 😂

this is one of the best interviews ever and THANK YOU for bringing up the kiss because a lot of people on twitter refuse to see it exactly as how nicola and luke described it. no, she wasn't desperate for HIM, she was desperate to experience ONE THING which is a kiss from anyone, because she accepted right there and then that she will never marry. she accepted that she's already on the shelf and this is it for her. well done!
She did want it to be with him because she loves him, she just doesn't think anything will come of it. She thinks she is going to be a spinster for the rest of her life.

Amando eles! Que química! Ainda bem que tinha entendido exatamente isso da Penelope e do Colin. Honestamente, não sei como não percebem que para ela aquele beijo era um adeus para o cara que ela ama, mas também porque ela confia nele, ela pede a ele. Para o Colin foi o começo e para ela, ao menos na cabeça dela, o fim.
Meu deus eles são sempre tão simpáticos, fofos demais! Tem entrevistas que a gente assiste e tem uma hora que parece que os atores estão cansados, eles não, sempre carismáticos! (Nicola sem comentários, perfeita!) E Carooool, você sempre leva a entrevista pra um rumo que não seja igual as perguntas que todos fazem, amooo demais! ❤

This interview was absolutely one of the best ones they did because these questions were SO IMPORTANT to processing their relationship! Thank you SO MUCH for asking! The answers were perfect, they know their characters so well and I really wish there was more of them in their season (which I now know how all the other couples favorites feel).

Achava que não gostava, pois disse algumas coisas como dúvidas se realmente deveria ter bombado porque talvez não deveria, sobre não ter nada a acrescentar na nossa época mesmo sendo uma adaptação de livros (passatempo) sobre romance de época hot. Enfim, mas em nenhum momento questionei sobre o trabalho( afinal o médico atende a todos), não sou hater e nem foi uma crítica, ok? Mas acreditava que com suas críticas na época do lançamento as perguntas seriam mais relacionadas a esses questionamentos levantados antes... Enfim, já me esclareceu, pois não estou aqui pra debate haha...beijos 😘 .
