Mudvayne - "Dig" & "Internal Primates Forever" Live at Upheaval Fest 2022

- This past weekend I had the opportunity to work some of the biggest festivals in the US with the guys in Theory of A Deadman. I also got to see some other amazing bands during my time at the festivals, one of those being Mudvayne, who recently reunited and are embarking on their first full length tour with Rob Zombie, Static-X and Powerman 5000 in just a few days.
While I won't be able to attend one of those shows due to being on tour, I was fortunate enough to catch Mudvayne over the weekend for what will probably be my only time to see them in 2022.
I was able to record 25 minutes worth of footage from the photo pit. This is the first of 3 videos including the opening songs "Dig" and "Internal Primates Forever". Two nostalgic fan-favorite songs for the OG Mudvayne fans.
Please excuse the audio issues as I was extremely close to the stage and the subs were completely blowing out the audio. I felt that the footage was too good not to use, even after considering the audio issue.

The lyrics to dig are so quick even Chad has a tough time keeping up. Id like to add that not alot of bands care like they do, going to the audience, letting a stranger speak, crazy awsome band.
I have a clip of “Dig” on TikTok and people are just trashing him for not sounding good but they don’t understand that the lyrics are basically nonstop for almost the entire song.
@@TakeMeOnTour and people seem to not realize that they arent that young anymore either lol. For being 50 I think Chad still sounds pretty decent, especially with how hard some of the older songs are
He struggled with that song even 20 years ago, it's a really hard song and when they do it live they speed up the tempo even a little more, IMO they are the bomb! And I can't wait for new music!
He actually sings Dig better now than when I seen them in 2005...at Age 51.

Got to see these guys when they were in Florida last month. Had a feeling we were in for something interesting when Xer0 mentioned on stage that they were donning the face paint for the first time in 15 years or something, and even then I wasn't ready for how great they did. I was originally there for Static-X and Rob Zombie, but if Mudvayne keeps touring in the future they're definitely one I'd be psyched to check out again given the opportunity.
1:07 and 1:30. Mudvayne is sooo good that even the security guy can't help but enjoy the sound, hahahahahaha. Oh, and when Chad is near the crowd, the black haired and bearded dude was even singing along, hahahaha

I have 3 more songs but not the entire show. I was also really close to the stage so the bass started to distort and blow out the audio on the other songs but I will upload them anyway.

Yeah his name is Marcus Rafferty. He’s a live/touring member that started playing with them last year. He does vocals and guitar
He is just there to make it sound more full.

All the people criticizing Chad's vocals like they've been touring metal vocalists before.
Don't you realise that even with the proper techniques it's still REALLY punishing.
These guys are pushing 50, I could barely keep up with the fast vocals on Dig when i was in my early 20s, the fact that Chad is there onstage, performing these songs again is waay more impressive than your complaints.
Each gig takes a little more of you, after touring for several weeks, you're not going to be the same as you were when you were fresh, and after a multi-decade hiatus, there's going to be an element of rustiness.
Basically, unless you've been there, you don't know how hard it is.

Never seen them use a backing guitarist.
They just started using him last year when they did their reunion shows. He does vocals as well.

@@DystopianApocalypse His former guitar tech. Marcus only performs with Mudvayne now and they have a guitar tech who takes care of both him and Greg, I believe.

Love this band, however Chad sounds really out of it here. Great song nonetheless
He could be towards the end of the tour or end of the show. His voice gives up during dig and determined. I seen em live at inkcarceration (first show back) and he sounded much better than this because he was fresh. Great performance either way!
His voice is no more It sounds good But not the 2001 chad voice Granted they’re an old band None the less I love mudvayne
At 18 years old dealing with PTSD and under the influence of drugs and alcohol I thought this band was the greatest thing on God's green earth. At 31 years old sober now I realize this band helped me through some difficult times in my life but most their lyrics don't help anyone's state of mind. You're better off getting out the situation that drives you to listen to music like this in the first place. Put down the drugs and booze. Get away from the negativity. Not trying to crap on the band. Just being honest here.

I knew a kid which was good friend of mine that was about as big of a Mudvayne fan as I was. He had All That You Are playing on repeat in his bedroom when I found him in a pool of blood 3 inches thick. The burnt CD that song was on was labeled "play this at my funeral". How's that for opinion.

The vocals in dig where really muddy at times, but they sound decent otherwise
@@allbymys3lf831 true, through video the sound quality is definitely not going to be there I would also add. However I do think the singer is catching his stride again and he's sounding better than their first show last year
Is the guitarist in the back actually playing or is he just some special needs guy they handed a broken guitar too?
