Importantly to what we are talking about. My mom family is Gullah/Geechee. Tho they call us black in America. My actual history is partly Chicano. They enslaved African in native lands. These natives abandoned their homeland, that's Africans were enslaved in. My people ran away and joined natives in Spanish Florida. These natives are speculated to also be descendants of Mayans.
Since our inception in America we have always had a Mexican history. Mexico which came later. After being a free mixed community they pushed my mom's family to Mexico general Jackson. Who became President after his success. Created Indian slave removal act. Or what Americans call the trail of tears. Those who were mixed or looked too black stayed in Mexico While the others came back to reservations.
When I look back on my history. I was raised partially by children of the enslaved. I don't understand Cali hatred of black and brown. I know it's not taught. I spoke to a Mexican here and taught him about people in Mexico that lived there since before the beginning
