For everybody who is thinking “oh these tutorials are too hard to understand” don’t give up! I almost did when I started and now I average 20-25 seconds on the cube, and I’ve only been cubing for about 7 months, You got this!
As someone who has been cubing for almost 2 years now, I can say this is a really good tutorial. It is well explained and you don't make it look more difficult than it really is. Great job!
Thank you! You helped me solve my first cube, it has been sitting for 1 year and I was not able to solve it. But, you changed the whole way I looked at the cube. Thank you ❤
Brilliant, took me a while but I did it! Thank you. I had to keep starting from the beginning but each time I redid a layer it got easier. Great tutorial. My first time, I’m delighted.
Hey, listen! I’ve been a cuber for a little over a month now (started back in late September), and I got some tips for you beginners, as a beginner. 1. Take your time! Everybody takes their own time to improve. Don’t compare yourself to others who can do it fast, you get fast at your own pace. I myself can avoid comparing myself, and it’s been fun learning algorithms and just doing solves. 2. Don’t focus so much on the cube you have! Just like CubeHead said before, the cube doesn’t suck, you do. Well there is an exception, if your cube is _that_ bad, get a new one sooner or later. 3. Focus on making the cross and f2l more efficiently. Lately I’ve been learning more algs, and I know almost full pll within a month of cubing, with the R perms being the last I’m learning (Yes, I learned the G perms before R perms). Anyways, if you don’t know what these “perms” are, that’s fine. Back to the point, I basically spent my time on algs rather than being good at making the cross and f2l. What is f2l? Well, it stands for the first 2 layers. It’s pretty straight forward, you solve the first 2 layers right away without solving it corner by corner and edge by edge. I basically threw the idea of getting good at those out of the window, and I pretty much regretted that. My solves are pretty slow with all the cube rotations and slow recognition I’m doing, so yeah. So, I recommend you prioritise focusing on how you build your cross and your first 2 layers (once you learn it), because it’s quite an intuitive process. 4. Have fun! It doesn’t matter if you’re slow or not, as long as you have fun along the way. Watch some cubing videos, do some solves, do random turns on your cube! Make cubing as a hobby because it’s a fun hobby. As of now, I average sub 40, with my best solves being in the sub 30s. You’ll see huge improvements if you’re dedicated enough, so good luck to you new cubers!
Very well said! I’ve been mainly doing f2l and I only know 2 plls, and 2 olls, I know j perm and t perm, and I know oll 1 and I know oll 25 and I average 35 seconds.
Hello cubehead, I started cubing in August earlier this year. I watched one of your tutorials and it helped me so much. It took me 4 days to actually learn how to do it.( I know I took time.)it won't take you that much time now for all the begginers who are reading this comment. I now myself use the begginer CFOP method (I Just started it doing regularly 3 days ago) and i average about 1min 15 sec. I learned all the algorithms and also learned 2-lool OLL and PLL. All I want you to say is thank you so much for your tutorials. Without it, i would have never reached this level.(my pb is 57.79 sec) Have a nice day, Cubehead Also for all the begginers out there, U can do it. Edit: My pb is now 34.62😁😁
Thank you for the video. It took me a couple of nights working on this to finally memorize the algorithms and for the first time in my life I could finally solve the cube without even looking at the video or notes I took. And now I’m solving them with no issues. Couldn’t have done it without your video. Thanks!
As someone who has been cubing for 4 years this is really good and explained slowly and carefully i wish i would learn cubing this way cause it is faster and easy
I started cubing only 2 weeks ago. I asked my friends which tutorial I should watch and they recommended this one. I watched it for 2 weeks trying to understand the steps. At first, I thought it was too complicated, but after more attempts, I finally understood. Now because of this video, I know how to solve a cube, so don’t give up and keep trying. (im still working on my speed since I just understood)
lmao same about a year ago i did this tutorial and got into cubing i went from 3 minute solves to 30 second solves (still trying to beat 30.574 seconds)
Thank you so much for this tutorial. This is really useful and for an 8 minute tutorial, it explains everything really well and makes everything easy to understand. I can now average 2 minutes on a cube.
Hi CubeHead, love the tutorial! Whenever I have friends who are new to cubing, I'd normally recommend your slightly longer tutorial, but most of them would be pretty intimidated by the length of the video. Definitely gonna recommend this tutorial from now on! 🤗
Thank you so much! I finished my cube twice because of your tutorials being easy to follow. I appreciate your efforts of teaching and making these videos

I solved it, thanks! Got a question though. On the last step when I have two corners that needs to be flipped I do my righty algorithms and it solves easy, if I have three, it messes up my cube. I try to flip it and trying to solve it like the yellow side, but it doesn’t work. What am I missing?

We need to look for an edge piece without the color yellow, then align it to the center piece. Now, look at the edge piece you just aligned, Ex. Green and Red, now look at the center piece of Green and Red, and now which way you wanna go? If your answer was right, you're correct. After that do the right algorithm and resolve the corner, and do that all the edge pieces without the color yellow. That's it, go ahead, get your cube and solve the second layer. I already solved mine. Good Luck to you!
I have not been able to solve a cube for longgg and took many tutorials and didnt understand, thank you for this its so understandable and ive solve my first cube
This is the only video I’ve found that shows - if, then, else method. Everyone talks about Righty & Lefty, but when to do it and what it does, only got here. Thanks.
Excellent work. Lots of Rubik's cube tutorials out there, but this is the best. Only 4 algorithms to learn, and you made them simple to do. Only quibble I have is that the Sune algorithm moves 3 edges in a counterclockwise rotation. Starting the Sune with more than 1 edge in the right place will not work without doing the Sune multiple times. I found it best to rotate the top layer until only 1 edge piece is in the right place, and then I can often solve that part with 1 use of the Sune.
Thank you🙏🙏 This helped me solve my brothers cube which had so many turned edges and was completely unsolvable. But with the help of this video I was able to use my thinking skills and turned all the edges back to the right position, and solved it for him!
