You've made this Enstrom lover very happy Chris, the high camera on your right is one of the best cockpit angles I've ever seen, captures your control inputs & overall views perfectly. Your autos border on liesurely compared to the white knuckled drama off R22's , great work Chris, you're a natural ! keep em coming, cheers Mike.
Hah, yeah you feel like you're living on the edge a bit more in a '22, right!? The entry and the exit are much easier in the Enstrom in my opinion. Good to hear on the camera, i'm still figuring that all out.
Your videos are excellent. As a helicopter pilot, I love see different machines. The Enstrom is an underrated helicopter. I hope that they can find their way with the new ownership. Keep up the fine videos. If you ever have the gumption to do some full down autorotations, I would love to see them from both in and outside of the cockpit.
Thanks Nick! Yeah, they definitely are underrated. I saw that they just received their approval from the FAA to restart production on new ships last week. That heavy rotor is definitely good for some full downs.
Thanks! Yeah, Aspen PFD and MFD, a Garmin 430W, and the engine monitor is an Insight G3. The person who owned it before me had planned to do instrument training in it so it was fairly loaded when I got it. Not really necessary for the kind of flying I do, but it is nice.
Another great video, those were some nice rotations. The maintenance has done wonders for the Enstrom, she seems much more behaved than she was in your first video.
Thanks! Yeah, she sounds better even. The mags definitely had issues with both sets of points. And the swashplate rebuild tightened up the cyclic significantly.

That is a nice instrument panel !

Great video Thank you for Sharing.
Thanks for watching.
Shawn Coyle in his book, “Little Book of Autorotations” cautions against doing full down autos to grass. Much safer to a hard surface.
That is a great book, and I was thinking the same thing right after I said it. Good point!
