I love your collect of Mill Hill finishes! I,ve done several of the Christmas village, some Santas and the Three Kings. There is a lady on the 123 Stitch message board, who has done all of the Santas. I think she has three trees to display them all.
Thank you for sharing these, Christine! There are so many I've not seen before and now I want to go stitch all the Mill Hill things =). For the bigger Heart piece that you're not sure if you want to cut it out as a shape or stitch the background to create a square finish, if you opt for cutting out into a shape you might check your local Walmart or craft store to see if they have a heart-shaped, lightweight, unfinished-wood piece in their crafts-to-make section. (At my local Walmart, I find the various shapes/sizes of unfinished-wood pieces on the same aisle as the craft paints.) You could either paint the unfinished piece or cover it with scrapbooking paper, then attach your Mill Hill piece on top using Stitchery Tape or craft glue. This has become one of my favorite ways to finish projects because the wood has a thin profile and is lightweight, making them very easy to store as FFOs.
So much fun seeing all of your Mill Hill stitching. I’ve done quite a few of the bigger ones and they’re so much fun to stitch. Great Mill Hill parade!
CHRIS! Your mill hill finish pile is STITCHING GOALS. I think you totally should stitch all the santas.... You could have a special tree that's just mill hill santas. as for favorites... you have done so many pretty ones but I really think I need to order pet spider, the buttons and beads with the ravens and the spooky candelabra - i never realized there is a cat peaking up in the window! I also really liked how you showed the different ways you finished them... I may have to try a scrap book style finish, yours turned out so nicely!
You are amazing! I’ve been obsessed with these kits for a while now and have finally ordered my first four. The beehive house, the mushroom house, one of the Jim Shore Gnomes and a Christmas Sleigh that features a dog that looks like mine! Thank you for this amazing video 🎄🩷
Very cool to see all those Mill Hills. You inspired me to order and do (currently making) Milk Can because I have now soon to be 3 month old baby girl and word milk is often used, very topical of this time:D and colors are nice also. And also liked Buttons and Beads Hummingbird (my dream is to see them one day). Also coffee themed I like...so many to choose from.
This was such a fun Flosstube! You have do many beautiful works of art. It is so very hard to pick a favorite. But the Honeybee, Water Pump, and food ornaments stand out to me. Looking forward to your next Flosstube.
Ann Behney...I just found your channel and am thrilled!!! You go, girl. You are a very hard worker. Now, I have your whole collection of videos to watch.
Wonderful collection. I love stitching Mill Hill kits, have quite a few and don't stitch them nearly as often as I'd like - other projects seem to get in the way!
What a delightful collection! Your stitching is beautiful! I love the Santas and love your idea of stitching all of them. My favorites of the other Mill Hills are the butterflies.💕
Thoroughly enjoyed your parade of mill hills! Made me become a subscriber. Love your voice! I’ve done a few of these back in the day and now have rediscovered cross stitch after a 30 yr. hiatus. I’m all ready to stitch the sand dollar! Great idea about stitching all the Santas. I was thinking the same thing. Now off to find the first one from 1999.
Welcome! Thank you for sticking around! ☺️ Sand Dollar is going to be so pretty! So I miscalculated the number of Santas in my video when I said 25....there are actually about 75 of them because they release 3 per year 😲
They were all so cute, pretty and charming. Mill Hills are beginner kits but do not come off as beginner kits. I saw some from "Sonofastitch" on the Caterpillar channel. His were really charming too. He did some of the Christmas ones. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed.
You could probably store the scrapbooky one the way my husband stores his painted figures for warhammer, with spongey foam sheets. It's polyurethane pluckable foam.
You have a wonderful collection! I just started stitching them last year, and I did two of the Santa Gnomes for my daughter. This year I've been working on the Nativity pieces, and have 3-1/2 completed. They are a lot of fun.
Loved, loved, loved seeing your Mill Hill finishes!!! Any chance we can get a Mill Hill kit period? Even if you've done one already, I would definitely watch again!
These are fantastic Christine! Was so happy to see this video up and it has made me want to buy a load of its now 😅 love the skulls esp❤ love them all ❤
Seeing all your smaller Mill Hills in that basket was so inspiring! My desire to do Mill Hill kits has far surpassed my completion of them. :D One that I have completed is a Buttons & Beads of an Owl, and I was surprised you haven't done that one as it seems like it would be right up your ally! Can't remember what it's actually called but it's a large owl sitting on a branch with bats flying around in the moonlight. I have the kit of those purple ravens and am really looking forward to getting that one started sometime in the future. I didn't know about the matching smaller one though, so will probably buy that one soon to go along with the larger one! That's exciting! Good luck if you decide to do all of the Santas!
I didn't see the rest of your comment earlier about the owl. Funny you should mention that one because I DO have it and I may start it very soon! I love it!
Omg I really enjoyed this. These are new to me and would love to stitch them. It doesn’t seem like I can walk into a store and find these kits though. Why is everything online? I do remember a mall in the 90s that had a ton of stitch kits but those stores aren’t open anymore I guess stitching fell out of favor. I do have a question: How are you able to get so many of them completed? thank you for sharing your stash. it was fun to watch and it introduced me to some thing I think I would love to do and you are right. Every single one of them are cute and many of them are very beautiful.
Thank you! Yes, you're right, it's hard to find kits in stores anymore, but luckily you can find TONS of them online! I have been stitching for about 13 years so it has taken awhile to get all that stitching done!
Hi can I ask how do you organise the colour and beads in the Mill Hill kits ? Do you have any tips please 😊 Melanie from 🇬🇧 thank you so much for sharing❤
Hi! I made a video awhile ago that might be more helpful than trying to type it out, lol! I pretty much still do the same thing with my beads now except I use an Altoid mint tin instead :). I also do the hangers differently now by making a beaded hanger. Here's the link...
Thank you!! I have a dedicated pair of those DMC embroidery scissors that you can get at the craft store, that I use strictly for cutting these out. They probably don't work too well for thread anymore 😬
If I'm not mistaken, the annual Santa's number about 75. Stitching all of them is also a goal of mine, but there are so many other pretties that keep slowing me down 😂
@@calico_whimsy I've collected about half of them, but have only managed to stitch the first 7 or 8. Yours are simply beautiful! I really enjoyed your video.
