Was a Joy to see the Boss man (DAD) . I am 70 years old and i love this channel. I love hard work and really appreciate the girl's work ethic. I could not agree more with Dad's approval. I raised 2 daughters myself. Sadly, they chose good looking guys over responsible ones. They both had to raise their children alone. Girls don't sell yourself short and be fooled by Mr. Slick. Your dad is 100% right, and he only wants what is best for you girls.
You sir did a fantastic job raising you girls. Teaching the girls that hard work, passion and respect for your trade is so valuable in life. In this new culture of social media that is destroying our new generation, you have managed to keep your family ahead of the curve. My hat is off to you.

You all have a great channel and I enjoy watching you all . My favorite is watching and learning how You're Grandfather sharpening the saw blades. A serious art
I myself am a father of 3 children and I know how hard it is today to raise children well. But you are a really very well tuned family, where everyone knows where his place is and fills it responsibly and the father is a father worthy of the name. Yesterday I said to my wife that I happened to see a YT video of a Pennsylvania family where the children are cheerful and very well behaved and responsibly help out in their own business. Unfortunately, our children are probably not like theirs due to too much wealth and free time. This is how I imagine a good American family. A YT viewer from Germany
Girls I knew your Dad was a Great Man or you girls wouldn't be what you are in the videos. I love your Dad, he's good people with a Great Hard Working Family. I love your channel.
A buddy of mine bought a little home sawmill, after i built my timber frame barn. I ordered lumber from a local mill. I liked his saw, so I watched some videos about old sawmills here in Maine. I saw your videos and said to myself, these women wont do much, I apologize, was I wrong! Im amazed at the work ethic they have and the hard work they do, and dont wear gloves. After watching the Q and A with the boss, I understand this is a hard working family. Hats off to you folks! I just started watching this channel this month and really enjoy the different jobs everyone does. As time permits, I am going back and watching some of the earlier videos like this one. Thanks "Boss Man" for answering the questions and giving a history of your operation. As my wife told me many years ago, it was not our job to approve of their future spouse, but to educate our daughters so that they would pick a spouse that we would approve.
Great interview, Boss Man, Father, crew chief, Manager, Mechanic, you name it you are it. You are proud of your family as you should be, you have taught great work ethic which is critical in life as well as in business. You have created a business to be passed on for decades. and you are a great steward of the land
Great job explaining everything. You can tell that your dad / boss man can tell he is very proud of all of the family working on the log yard and logging. Keep up the great videos and
I like the boss! Easy to see where the girls come from both in intelligence, down-to-earth-niceness, and outgoing personalities. And, for a "camera shy" guy, he came across like a pro.
This video would never happened unless Ken saw value in what his creative and industrious daughters are doing with this channel. I admire him for stepping up and supporting their endeavor. On a personal note Ken, my cherished daughter was somewhat of a target for good looking men who were players. Of course none of these young men were serious suitors and I am so happy to report that she finally went for a young man that comes from a farming background of several generations and they married ,restored a 120 year old farmhouse and currently are raising two precious little girls. I have full faith that these young ladies will attract the kind of young man that you will be proud to call your son-in-law.
Fantastic interview with the Boss man...Dad. Trapped as only a loving Dad could be by one of his daughters. You handled yourself perfectly Boss. The girls are beautiful but it came from a Mom and Dad of exceptional faith, values, and spirit.

Great video Em...... I now understand where your intelligence and story telling ability comes from. To say The Boss Man is deep would be an understatement. He has been modeling values for you your siblings your entire life and it shows in the quality of your videos and in the work ethic you demonstrate week in and week out. Continue listening and learning from him kid, it will serve you well for years to come.
Great Dad, instilling good work ethics with the family. Hats off to you Dad... THREE daughters at work? You are a saint of tolerance, an island of parental testosterone alone in a sea of estrogen!!!!
As the owner of a commercial woodshop I love hearing him talk about the zero waste factors of the industry. I just realized they are only 2 hours or so from our shop. I may have to schedule some time to make a purchase. I'd rather put some money in the pockets of a family operating responsibly than our normal big name suppliers.
Ok, I'm not in that age range for marriage and have a lovly wife. But we have strong boys ;-) ... I like the way you work and live together as a Family. You have the bibel in your live, like we do. We live in the mountains of Austria and drive 4 wheels on steep paths every day. I like your boss! Wood business is around us. We buy our lumber at the mill 2 min away. It's a live style - using wood of plastic - no waste.

Thanks for sharing. I have a mill and firewood business and These videos offer a lot of really inspirational/valuable information and techniques. Best regards!
Now that's a man who loves his daughters. Thanks, Em, that was cool. It's a pity your father doesn't like the camera, although I understand it; I'm the same way. Even so, he's got something to say, and people ought to listen to him. We see him, off and on, and he's always just in the background, kinda gruff and growling. But he isn't, really. I see why you love him, and are willing to work so hard to please him. And, of course, his love for his children shines through the whole video. I repeat: that was cool. Keep up the good work. Tell your dad I said he's the star of the show, no matter what he thinks about young men watching them because of his daughters. If he wasn't so driven, there wouldn't be a log yard.
Great video, Em! I really like the idea of taping your dad. So much back history, personal experiences, and an idea of what it's like start and run a log mill company!!! Well done!😃 Oh, and I agree with him. An suitor must be approved by dad. He knows what you deserve probably more than you do. I know I'll be quite particular about any potentials for my girls!!!😁
Thank your dad for stepping in front of the camera. I love to watch UA-cam videos with real families. I love how informative all your videos are. Your poor dad is going to get hauled into the future with his daughters dragging him with an iPhone and a camera.
Understand the uncomfortable about UA-cam dad ...I have seen a Russian dad whose daughter is on UA-cam and admit I have thought it must be very uncomfortable for him... The upcoming generation has been weaned on modern technology so are much more accustomed to using it.. I will finish this later as I have my own survival work to do but I do enjoy these ....you are a great bunch and congrats to you all... RESPECT ...from my Homestead in the woods of Maine
Can I call you Dad, even tho I'm Older than you are 82 yrs., What I want to say is you have a very Talented Daughter. I just cannot get over how much Wisdom this 17 yrs old lady has.
You raised some beautiful,Powerful, self sufficient young ladies who will be better for having you as a dad and for learning that working hard is the highest respect points a yone can earn. Much respect from Maine.
I started watching this channel just yesterday (just days before Christmas 2022) being a member and involved with our family in a youth group called the Junior Forest Warden's, we visited recently a small farm owned saw mill. The kids got try hands on to mill some logs. For that reason I started watching some videos (like the banana log). I was at first really skeptical about the seriousness of these video's, by seeing a bunch of girls handling these logs and running this mill without proper safety gear. The first video I watched, I showed my son and said there's now way that those girls work that mill daily, not wearing gloves (think about the sap/resins). Seeing this video gave me a lot of respect. Dad (Boss Man).... I have a huge respect for you, how you think and started your business. I'm not a environmentalist (not at all) but this world is wasting a lot of valuable resources and we need a lot more of people like this dad (Boss Man) what turn discard into something valuable. Keep doing what you guys (girls and their dad do!! 👍👍🙏🙏
Love the zero waste strategy!! We are pretty much zero waste at our operation in NY, if it isn't mill-wood, or firewood , we grind it for mulch/compost, or we most recently got into biochar.
The majority of the people in this country today would benefit greatly if they would just sit down and listen to your father talk for a few days. ( my self included) One of the top “questions and answer videos on UA-cam!
This man, I mean THE BOSS , knows about hard work, discipline and true masculine power. No wonder he raised responsible and cheerful daughters. Ps: even he doesn't like to be on camera, he did an excellent job!
What a great Dad; great family. You brought your kids up well; hard working and I think I heard in another video at least one loves to cook. I appreciate these types of videos where I learn something I didn't know. No politics, no drama, just useful info. It is possible/profitable to use the tree limbs for BBQ pellets? I know nothing about the manufacturing process but I used them before and was thinking of that when you mentioned no-waste. One safety note: I see hearing protection, heard on the videos that hard toe shoes are used, understand gloves aren't but please; "Eye Protection". I'm pretty sure this is an above average dangerous profession. Again, LOVE the information Thank you.
Great video. The Boss is great. I so enjoy all your videos. Your weekly video is the one I look forward to the most each week. I'd like to see a poster of the family together. Mom, Dad, the girls, the little blonde haired boy. I think it's great the way your family works together.
Too long? Not a chance!!! Once again thank you for a great video. I had an idea the "boss " would be a very grounded, secure, intelligent and most of all loving man. I think I hit that nail right on the head. I'm sure there are a lot of very nice well intending young men out there that will meet you hotness requirements. However trying to find one that has as much love and devotion to you as "the boss" has will not be easy to obtained. It will never be exceeded!!!! Something to remember when "the bosses" thoughts don't match yours! I'm really getting to like this 2 vids a week deal 24 mins. is no way too long, honest.
Wonderful man and family, great honesty and wisdom. Enjoying all your videos. I’m a 68 year old senior. And I was only 20 years old when my dad suddenly passed away. I was a young man who grew up without my dad. So I was fortunate to have other mentors and examples of good men to teach me. One thing I’d recommend for all young men. A book titled : Letters to my Son, by Kent Nerburn. It’s a wonderful book to help explain growing up, ways to live, how to treat women, how to be a good person, how to manage money and your life. Just saying it is worth reading.
Fred, being called Boss Man, is just like me calling my Dad "Pop", and I always will. Term of endearment. All my other bros. & sisters call him Dad. GH in MO
Really nice to kind of get to know about the your family and interactions with the business. I had already assumed that the work ethic was important because of the way that all of you pitch in to get things done. I am always impressed with the amount of work that the girls in particular do as I doubt that most young men now would even consider the same jobs.
Enjoyed the Q&A with the “boss man”. I know he is extremely proud of his business, his girls, and the entire family. Many years ago when my daughters started dating, I would always be outside with a chainsaw in my hand, when any suitor showed up. I sure they always said, I’d better be careful, there’s that crazy father with the chainsaw again.
With 3 daughters off and settled in, I now get to meet the granddaughter's friends. I always make it a point to show them my guns and sharp knives, and to tell them why I am showing to them!!!
So much respect for your dad and what he has built! Not wasting anything at the log yard is certainly not easy but really worth it for everyone. Mother nature, the costumers and definitely for your business. And as Mark Twain said over a hundret years ago: “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
This is all part of schooling. That's what's great about homeschooling. So glad to hear your kids are home-schooled. We home-schooled our two girls. They both tried public school once. It was their decision. One lasted a day! She referred to it as "the jail." The other one lasted a little longer. We used all Bob Jones University's curriculum. Excellent! Becky went to Ozark Christian College for a year on a full scholarship. Homeschooling works! I knew right away there was something different about your girls. That was it.
Holy smokes! I have the same Kyocera phone! Everyone always comments that they think it's weird to see a young guy with a flip phone, but I really just need a phone to make calls and maybe send the occasional text. I tried a smart phone years ago but switched back because I didn't check email, play games, or download apps, and it cost more than twice as much a month. It's also durable enough to withstand all the drops and falls I have accidentally given it throughout the years. And it's waterproof so I can use it in the rain and not worry about it.
I like the subtle manner in which you have conned your dad into planning and presenting future UA-cam videos on the minimisation of timber harvesting waste. 😀 It was also funny to see how he kept talking, whilst realising that he had just publicly committed to those tasks!
@@kirkbodendorfer5313 Pretty obvious that she learned from her mum and … was acting on mum’s orders to make dad present his beliefs in person, to a wider audience! THE BOSS of a family will always get her way. 😀
Dang, Your father is very similar to me accept I create the videos and try to keep my beautiful daughter out of the pictures. He has, from his answers, similar or same values as I do. This was and excellent posted video. It's nice to see and it's rare to meet someone who is not only a great father figure, but a father is also teaches and fosters a good work ethic and the importance of an education. I have always told me kids, "I may not be a father who is successful, but I am a successful father".
I personally think the experience of working with my daughters was eye-opening and phenomenal! It really was the best to know a different side of your children As a professional firefighter, my working schedule was 2 /10 hr days and 2 /14 hr nights, and then 4 days off you go back to work! But the days off allowed me construction time! Basically, I worked on my fixer-upper house first, Working all kinds of construction! Years ago after retiring from firefighting, I built a house and all the cedar trims were cut on my Woodmizer with cedar from wood on my lot! I tried Vinyl decking for a few years but you ended up being a weatherman, Always worrying if it was going to rain. But ended up with Tiling and not just because my last name is Tyler? I really enjoyed most parts of showing them and then watching to see if they Got It! My eldest daughter was far more Artistic than I ever was and she had her own business tiling until she was hit in a head-on collision! I was very sad to hear that she can No Longer Tile as she can know longer get up and down off her knees because of Brain Trauma! My younger daughter was a trained sous chef and was between jobs and she also worked with me! We now live with her family paying rent and also renovating her new home! Which was the worst house on the block and nobody wanted it! What a Deal they got! My daughter could see the possible value of this house and had to talk to her husband, that this was a good deal So, she has helped me finish her 2 bathrooms in her new house! House, when bought, was 3 bedrooms and an open basement! We have been working on house for 2 years It now has 3 bedrooms on 2 levels and only have a new kitchen in basement suite to finish! Love the family insight and thanks for sharing
Hey girls! Your dad is a good man. I know the whole dowry thing was sort of a joke or part joking but it is true... Don't settle for anything less than the bar your dad sets for a good man. Look for honesty, loyalty, integrity, common sense and work ethic. Listen to your dad because he loves you, knows your value and he means it when he compliments the good things he sees in his daughters. God bless you girls and your family. Salt of the earth people. Peace!
There is a LOT of stuff on the Utube that lacks much substance, but you were awfully smart putting this together. You're really good at 'interviewing' and drawing viewers (like myself) into your family's world and showing what a strong bond your family has. It looks to me like the feeling is mutual amongst all: we're fortunate and really happy that we have each other.
I appreciate watching “The Boss Man” aka Dad. New to the channel and so far it’s refreshing to see authentic hard working people. Watching him appreciate the land, trees, logs, and most importantly his daughters is awesome. As a father of three daughters and a son it is great to see a fellow Dad that is trying to teach all of his kids what he knows.
Dowery of old is when the bride or brides family (pays to the groom or moreover the grooms father.) As in the brides family is pitching in so to speak to help with the starting of a new household. Dowery for modern times I have no idea. If the groom is hot or not. Honestly it should be the other way around for your entire family is very refreshing to meet. I must personally thank you for adding myself I was in a deep pool of depression thanks to all fun of life I've been fighting for the last Two years. You and your amazing daughter have greatly added to aiding my healing. Once again I thank you.
Good on you Dad :) wonderful family and super awesome business you’ve built. Lots to be proud of. In the world of social media and UA-cam, there’s a lot of superficial nonsense, but your channel and your business is none of that. It’s a joy to watch your family doing this business. You’ve raised your kids to work hard and it shows. I think your girls are taking it to the next level with the YT channel and they’re doing a great job. Super informative, intelligent, entertaining, and wholesome. I hope my kids do the same. If we were closer, I have no doubt we’d be good friends.
Good video. I've been trying something new, since we use our own land for lumber, 200 acres of hemlock and white pine in central NY. I've been digging out the stumps with the excavator and power washing them to sell. So far I've sold a few big cedar stumps. Hopefully artist types will buy them. Also what's starting to move is 2" to 8" by 8' peeled hemlock and pine poles for furniture building. Soon as deer season ends we'll be back at it. Keep the videos coming
@@Islandwaterjet I have to laugh, I have one of those figgit spinners. Keep it in the truck for drives over 4 hrs into areas with weak to no radio signals or cell service to run Pandora music. So while in boredom, I play with the stupid spinner.
I don't blame for being protective of your daughters. Having 2 of my own, I know exactly how you feel. You and your wife have raised 2 amazing young ladies who are very hard workers. Well done .
I watch another UA-cam channel called the essential Craftsman and he goes in to why he built his work truck the way he built it and why it is 4 wheel drive ,mainly because of the low range and the ease of getting around with it Excellent video enjoy watching all of them
That was your best video yet. I have wondered what Dads take on things was and his message to young boys at the end is spot on. I love the no waste philosophy too, but even better is the requirement on a young man” you need to have something to offer”
Dad is a great family man obviously and righfully proud of his family. When I say family man, I mean someone who loves and provides the best way he knows how so everyone in his circle is fed and warm and secure. He needs to be more on the camera as he explains and shows the process of work he does.
I took a job at a wood products mill when I graduated from engineering school at age 28. It was on a 350,000 acre tree farm at Snoqualmie Falls WA. They were on a sustained yield program for cutting,( fir, hemlock and cedar) which means cutting at the rate of growth. They had a sawmill with 42 foot carriage with 9 foot band and another 24 foot double cut carriage. (the double cut, both directions.) They had a wood burning powerhouse with oil backup. Steam heated dry kilns, planning mill, shipping and storage, plywood plant, silva cell plant (landscaping), presto log plant, wood cutting yard for employees and 20 rental houses for management. They chipped the hemlock and fir for truck loading facility to the paper mills. This facility had been running since 1920 using all of the tree. They even sold permits for public wood cutting, xmas trees and cedar shake bolts. And, left the gates open daily for hunting and fishing on the tree farm. The timber was clear cut then replanted in mineral soil, with fir and hemlock. The planted areas were sprayed to keep the deciduous trees from shading the planted trees and the tree farm was patrolled for fire 24/7. I visited two years ago. There are a couple of buildings and they are using the mill yard for some kind of small car racing. The North end of the yard at one time was a Chinese worker town. I heard the tree farm was sold to a German Co. Should be ready for cutting a 3rd growth. Iguana

Thanks for participating Dad. Good to hear how proud you are of your girls and your business.😎👍
Love the video. It is good to meet the Boss Man.
Great, nice to see someone with good work ethic that respects his family.
Thanks to the Boss for agreeing to star in this video. I found it to be most heartwarming and gave me insight into his character and personality.
Emerald is a awsome name. Fits her well.
America needs more families like this. Thank you for your service
Thank your dad for stepping in front of the camera. I love to watch UA-cam videos with real families. I love how informative all your videos are.
Your poor dad is going to get hauled into the future with his daughters dragging him with an iPhone and a camera.
Great video, that work your dad and brother do in the woods is dangerous stuff, keep up the good work.
Last question answered was the best. I feel that all fathers, including myself, feel the exact same way. Thank you for all of your hard work.
I am 58 with two daughters so I understand your concerns, well done for letting go and trusting them!
Considering he’s uncomfortable to be on film, he’s quite relaxed about it. Comes over as an honest, down to earth soul with a good heart.
Well, I had the Boss man pegged all wrong. What a nice guy and a natural in front of the camera.
Your Dad is funny and very smart and his answer for his Daughters was perfect
Can I call you Dad, even tho I'm Older than you are 82 yrs., What I want to say is you have a very Talented Daughter. I just cannot get over how much Wisdom this 17 yrs old lady has.
You're doing something right and it shows...
I'm inspired, educated and entertained with each episode.
What a nice hard working man that cares about his family. Love that work ethic.
Your Father seems a very fine man, can see.where you kids get your work ethic, Be proud of him and Dad be proud of your children
This guy's smart for real. I'm from Greenville South Carolina I can tell you he knows what he's talking about.
Great video. The Boss is great. I so enjoy all your videos. Your weekly video is the one I look forward to the most each week.
I'd like to see a poster of the family together. Mom, Dad, the girls, the little blonde haired boy.
I think it's great the way your family works together.
I have three daughters. I like the dowry question the best.
You girls are EXTREMELY fortunate to have such an awesome dad and when it comes to get married, you had best pay attention to what his opinion is.
Love the Zero Waste Goal and great taste in beer as well! New Trail is a great supporter of all outdoor activity!
Be proud of this father of the answer of question 9.
When I harvest I use all wood for my personal use ,everything from the size of my thumb and larger. I never come out of the woods empty
I like the subtle manner in which you have conned your dad into planning and presenting future UA-cam videos on the minimisation of timber harvesting waste. 😀 It was also funny to see how he kept talking, whilst realising that he had just publicly committed to those tasks!
That's not going to help his stage fright. Lol
It really was the best to know a different side of your children
As a professional firefighter, my working schedule was 2 /10 hr days and 2 /14 hr nights, and then 4 days off you go back to work!
My daughter could see the possible value of this house and had to talk to her husband, that this was a good deal
So, she has helped me finish her 2 bathrooms in her new house!
Peace!
Thanks for sharing some background information about your operation and letting know much your Dad loves all of you.
hi Frank from Liverpool UK.
absolute pleasure to watch this Q&A. very informative and funny.
your Dad seems a nice guy.
videos a pleasure to watch.
It's great for your business that even though those people have trees all around they still buy firewood from you.
Great interview , great job, great family. Dad, your girls are doing great .
Exactly how I view family and work. 👍👍👍
That’s gotta be the proudest man on this planet to speak about his girls like that… you girls are indeed extremely special…
Your dad is a wise man. Excellent Dowry answer!
@@Islandwaterjet they used the stump for a table bases here, they look beautiful.
@White Male why are you such a jerk

Loved the video, I definitely relate. Grew up logging with my dad, now my 3 girls work with us. Loggers are the same everywhere
I thought you girls were cool, but your dad is even cooler 🙂
Kudos to the boss for his work ethics and his no-waste approach. How about a Q&A with Mrs. boss, or did I miss that?
