I love the micro expressions that Ethan's face went through, from human to Vulcan, when Chapel gave him the hypo. He is amazing!
Thank you, Mr. Peck for caring so much about Spock and for just being you.
I wonder if Amanda or Spock will eventually tell Pike or some other crew member that he's still basically an adolescent as a Vulcan because Vulcans live so long. Something to think about, and I think it would help to explain his behavior when he was fully human.
Love this and so grateful for this interview.

I honestly died when I saw you were interviewing Ethan Peck. He was just so fantastic in this episode. He totally nailed it.
And then also having the director and she absolutely nailed it too.
The writing was great. The costumes were great. Pike in the background during the dinner party was a chef's kiss. Spock hanging out with all the female crew members, drinking and laughing, amazing! And that scene where he defends his mom is priceless.
Ciroc I totally agree with you, this episode is a 10/10. The pacing was perfect. There were no unanswered questions. I was never taken out of the story by anything. Definitely one of my all time favorite trek episodes. And it was classic trek shenanigans. I loved it!!

This episode was so funny and well done. Ethan is an amazing actor... actually all of them are/were in this episode. Shout to Pike's performance too, totally underrated.

I really like T'Pring's father, Sevet. Definitely has not undergone the Kolinahr, I can see why he would be friends with the younger Sarek that fell in love with a Human. Gives me Romulan northerner, like Zhaban, vibes though.

I feel like this show is a complete vindication for all those times somebody called me a hater for not liking Discovery, for all those times some a-hole accused me of "being afraid of a strong woman." No, I didn't like Discovery because THIS is the Star Trek I want to see. Good stories, a great cast and dammit some FUN! All on a ship filled with strong women.

Discovery is a terrible Trek show, I'm surprised you got backlash for it. The story, writing, and acting (of some) is terrible. The only good thing it had going for it is the CGI, cosmetics and wardrobe, but that was just used to cover up the terrible writing, the destruction of the lore/future lore, and bad acting. I hope they undo that entire storyline that basically destroys/wipes out everything every timeline before it has achieved. It basically created hundreds (or thousands?) of years of nothingness and undid everything ever trek show had developed. the writers and show runners shouldn't be allowed near trek ever again...

What we're seeing in SNW right now is a demonstration of a shift in attitudes in the artists of both Disco and SNW. Picard hinted at it. The lower decks cartoon works as sort of a page nine satire and I really think its artists were the catalyst that made Prodigy possible. Prodigy is a good show, solid Star Trek. I'm sure there's a few legit kids out there that like it. My kids like TOS. Not as much as I did when I was their age, but they might soon. They don't care for Prodigy at all. Doesn’t even compute with them to hashtag about it. They just look at the screen for a few seconds and are like back to the play doh. There's some pretty sick individuals out there. Star Trek knows who they are. I'm really excited for Discovery's final season. Some Star Trek movies and episodes you just know are good from the "Next time on..." commercials. This is one of those times. Hypocritical haters can go to hell.

Ah, loved this SNW review! Terrific episode with 2 terrific guests, Ethan and Jordan! What an enjoyable and fun ride this was -- gave me all the smiles and all the feels. Thank you to everyone involved! And, I was really glad Cirroc mentioned the To Kill A Mockingbird connection with Ethan's grandfather and Brock Peters (Cirroc's DS9 grandfather). Legendary!🙂👍🏻💝🖖🏻

I actually said when I was watching. This isn't a spock episode. This is an Ethan Peck episode. Because holy crap! He was killing it. I can't believe you got him to come on the show!!!

I was unfamiliar with Ethan's work and, as a lifelong Spock super fan, I cast a cautious eye at him from the beginning but he's won me over 100%. He's great, not just as Spock but he really comes across as charming and humble in interviews.
Also I just want to note this T7R episode featured my 2 favorite Trek sons.

there is a silly connection between ethan and cirroc. they are both put in a world they could not understand. the pike-spock relationship reminds me of the jake-ben relationship. the strange new world is giving me the shivers. like DS9 !! i am hooked.

The father seemed vulcan to me. The mother was completely illogical. She was acting more like a rich spoiled princess than a vulcan. I didn't get her.

Hmm. Not bad! I'll watch Charades more closely next time. I was surprised with the online response from fans I saw. I really felt this was a super mediocre episode, but I'm beginning to get the sense that this one is going to stand out in the future. Like maybe an iconic hour of SNW.
