in a very basic way I think he has something prerecorded, a kind of track; he then modulates the song with analog equipment he has ; it's possible that the rows of knobs are dedicated to each FX track. So he has a lot of ways to change each effect and then on top he has a lot of different effects plus the prerecorded basic track that is being modulated along the way. I am not sure if this is the case though; I think that some trance music producers especially in 90s really blended synthesizers, modulators, and live instruments in a nice way showing a different sort of mastery; what O'Rourke is doing here sounds really interesting, although a different audience would demand something with a more concrete punch aided by live instruments. Although this is somewhat more harmonious than his other performance I heard, delivered in 2021, it has this vibe like Harrison's "Electronic Sound" , his experiments with Moog, not exactly a piece revered by a lot of people. It would really be interesting to see whether the future will bring popular groups that combine, live music, the potential of instruments and live jamming with other people, plus the modulation capacities provided by digital and analog equipment. There were and are many groups that do this but none had reached the deserved level of popularity

Different strokes for different folks! Some of us are interested in alternative methods of sound creation by artists, outside of the conventional rock n roll set-up. Listening doesn't have to be visually entertaining.
I quite enjoyed it, each to their own. Feels like he’s doing a bit of improv with electronic sounds. Not always my thing but I appreciate that he’s focused and playing the midi like an instrument, something nice about sounds evolving as they happen.
