I'm 74 and I lost several in 2018. Then lost my best friend in Feb 2019. Lost my new best friend in Jan of this year 2 days before her bday. I don't have any family except a few cousins spread around. Going to be cremated myself but guess the state will have to do it . I just don't want to die in this mh. I want to get out in a van before that time but thinking I'm too old to start now. You do what you want with your things. It's good that you're asking now but you look great and hopefully you'll get to enjoy more van life. Only God knows our time. I came close on September 13, 2017 but it just wasn't my time. Celebrate the way you want to. 🙏🙏
I’m 75, been living alone without feeling lonely; I’m still working. I’m a loner so I have no friends I would miss be they dead or alive. Sorry to say that I have no close friends although all my life I’ve given generously to so many. I’m not afraid of dying, have planned how my body will be disposed of when the Lord takes me….. Thank you for sharing your own feelings, Lindy.
Mrs. Lindy, your content is great and it’s wonderful that you are sharing your journey and thoughts! I know what it is like to have so many friends and family pass on. It can cause a bit of a lonely feeling in me sometimes. But I know my friends and family would not want me to feel lonely, they would want me to make the best of the day I was lucky enough to be living, so I try to stay positive and look for something fun every day. Carpe Diem! In terms of your celebration, hopefully someone will make a suggestion that you really like, and something you can go with. I try not to get too fixated on planning as plans never seem to go as planned. I hope your celebration works out and makes you happy. I hope you have a great day!❤
You do as you see fit. You give as you see fit. You worked for it and acquired it and you do as you see fit. Always had that mindset for any of my elders. You do what you want to. We don't need a thing but if you want to send folks a gift then you do what you want. I don't think you need to give you stuff away unless you want to. To celebrate just be you and say thanks That's all we need.
I recently had my will drawn up so that's behind me. My grandmother died last year and had left my cousin and I everything to be halved and that process is behind us. Now... I'm sitting here on the couch that was hers, in an old fashioned gown and robe set that she never wore. I've always been bad at buying things and saving them for a "special"Occasion. No More! I'm using and wearing everything 😂 Seeing all the things she never used from towels to clothes to shoes to home decorations and even money, that she could have enjoyed while she was living, really opened my eyes. I've started unpacking and using everything. What I can't use is going in a huge yard sale my cousin and I are going to have. So my advice is use it and enjoy it while you are here or sell/donate it to someone who can.❤
My mom at 82 broke her hip, so I rushed 300 miles to be with her and help her heal. My sisters were too busy. So at 52 I was there for her. We found she had no will or preparations. She's 92 now. Doing fine.
I understand. I'm 61 been in many accidents throughout life. When I started van life I gave ALL my things away. I'll work out and you will be pleased and fulfilled . Sharing a part if you is Memorabilia forever. You are a beautiful wonderful godly woman🤗🥰
You said, "Have a good time right now" and I thought of the ancient quote, Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die." Seriously this is a good topic, Lindy!
This video made me smile. I’m the same age as you and totally understand your confusion and feelings. I have already given away everything I own except family pictures and my yarn! How funny is that! Seriously, it is a peaceful feeling to know that my children will not be burdened with having to figure out to do with everything. Have a great weekend.
I'm not retirement age yet, but I retired early, sold the 4 bedrm & downsized. This fall i plan to get a digital frame & put all the pics I like on it. Then I can get rid of the pics I still have, that have already been greatly downsized. 😊
It's great that you're giving things away now, especially if it's sitting in storage where no one can enjoy it. It will make things so much easier for your family if you deal w/this stuff now. And others will enjoy the items before they deteriorate. 😊
I love this video. I'm not too far behind you in age 74. Keep a few items that bring you joy. Let your children and grandchildren have what they want. Sell the rest to provide a more comfortable life for yourself. Get rid of the storage rental expense. Thank you for the video. Blessings and love.
no funeral here, just have a party with sausage nacho cheese dip, scoops. chili and disposable graduation caps! i am in the mindset to gift before i die. i have also divided my books into boxes that say “held on behalf of mom for Xyz.” more joy in giving beforehand where possible
I totally understand. And, I am certain you will come up with a decision that will bring you happiness in THIS LIFE. Whatever you decide, consider now so that you can enjoy your celebration too! A zoom party for those far away would be a fun addition as well. An RV roundup, perhaps, too? You love people as you said and what better way than to be with them. ❤
My mom passed 2 years this coming October. She was 79, a few days before her 80th birthday. I took it so hard. Still am coping with it. You remind me of her with your laughter. That’s all she did when we talked was laugh and made me laugh. I found her after 47 years of not knowing where she was. We only had three years of catching up. Talked to her almost everyday from the day I found her. She left me without us having our farewell. 💔 I’m very happy I found you channel, you are a wonderful woman who teaches us alot and makes us laugh. Thank you 🙏🏻 ❤
I'm the oldest of 6. The 2 born right after me, have passed. Very young, too. And the other 3 don't like me. I think about this all the time! What does Bonnie Raite song that says, "time is mighty precious, when there left of it to waste". Thought; We had a "pre death" celebration for a friend. That way, it might be the last enjoyable memory. I'd come for sure. 🎉
Hi Lindy, from a fellow senior lady in CANADA 🇨🇦. Van life soon to be my new reality. It’s very helpful to listen to you speak about your experience. Glad I found your UA-cam channel. Take care💕
I have spent the last 30 years giving away hundreds of items that I inherited because I have always been a minimalist. It's a lot of work and takes careful planning if you want cherished items to go to people who really need or want them. However, there is a certain satisfaction in knowing that your generosity has helped benefit the lives of others; especially, those in need.Thank you, Lindy, for your cheerful and down to earth videos on the perplexities of growing older.
Yep I’m 74 and everyone is dead. Yet I work part time and the folks are late 80’s and into their 90’s. I’ve donated mine borrowed body for free. I’m prepared. 🙏💕
Lindy, you make me literally laugh out loud, I just love your attitude and sense of humor so much. Congratulations 🎊 👏 on 25000. In regards to your antique giveaway, you could post a picture and have people comment with a number 1st on #1 second on #2 and do on, after a certain predetermined time you could use a random number selector to determine which number is the winner. Simple, fair and fast. The winner should pay for shipping of course. Thanks for your wonderful content.
When I turned 40, my dad said Happy birthday you are getting to the age where everyone you grew up with will die. Both my parents were preoccupied with death. I think of it all the time, and I can't wait to rest in peace, this world sucks. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lindy, you are celebrating with us now. Your joy and friendly nature makes my day. That is a huge gift you have already given to me. If you go before me, I will remember you.
Add to you I just love watching this lady. She gives me the laugh that I need some time so desperately. And she’s innocent. I can tell you have a good heart. God bless you. I’ll try not to leave before you. Lol.
Hi Lindy. Im a no fuss person too. No hens night, no baby shower no big birthday bashes and i dont do anything for my birthday. Im grateful to still be here just cant be bothered with the fuss 😃
i have put most everything into trusts, which will continue intergeneraktionally - each has a home and can access funds for needs but not wants- those must be worked for!
The older I get, the less afraid I am of death. My mom believed if she made a will she'd die. She didn't and she died anyway. It's good to let people know what you'd like to happen and execute the docuents to make sure it does.
Thats so generous of you. Personally I think you should pick something out for each grandkid. Then sell the rest & give the cash to their parents to hold for their education. You would be investing in their future. Education is the one thing nobody can ever take away from them. They are your legacy.
You are a beautiful person.I enjoy watching your videos.I’m 56 .Have had 2 strokes and have congested heart failure.Oh yes I think about death but more of living now.God keeps me going.❤️
I agree once your gone your gone! Do you only have one son? If you give you precious items away give them to a senior citizen place or good will? I can see why you have new friends your a very friendly person ❤
Heck yeah I think about it! 😂😂😂 Every day probably. I’m trying to get people in my family ready for that eventuality. I’ve gotten rid of lots of things and given away lots of things. I have one granddaughter who doesn’t mind talking about it so she knows what I want. My life insurance papers are easily accessible. I don’t want any fuss at all. I just don’t want my grandchildren and great grandchildren to be too sad. I’m 71. Maybe you could have a raffle on the antiques and give the proceeds to needy Nomads. Sounds like a lot of work though.
Oh how I love how your mind works! If you would live here in Amsterdam I would love to have you as my friend Lindy. Hope you have many giggles on your way 😂
Hi Lindy,Great video! I hope your beautiful soul is around for a very long time for us❤❤I would love to adopt you as my Grandmother,I lost her along time ago and I miss her so much! You remind me of her so much!Luvs to you Lindy❤
@patriciax2408...Totally Agree with You!!! Lindy, don't please put pressure on yourself!!! Others will do that for and to you , so please take CARE❤ . I hate to see you upset🙏🏻🙏🏾
Once upon a time I thought I would live forever. When I come to realized (wrinkles on my face, I can’t eat like used, lost strength…) that I am not going to live forever I was scared. You are funny and a wonderful lady. 🙂🌻
Lindy, I admire you and your thought processes. At first when you talked about parting with you possessions that are in storage, especially your antiques, I thought you should hold on to them just in case in the future you find yourself in some sort of senior housing and you need items in your room. How lovely it would be for you to have your antiques with all their memories surrounding you. Then it dawned on me how it would give you a lot of joy now to share these items with others who would also value and enjoy them. I can imagine how happy you would be, not only to let go of things you no longer need, but to see the delight of those who can now benifit from them. So…. How to go about it? One simple idea I had was to create a private facebook page where you can post, with pictures, each item. Next, each subscriber who has an interest in viewing your items can contact you giving you their facebook name so you can then invite them into your private facebook group for viewing and correspondence. Your thoughts?
I forgot it was my birthday. 😂. I’ve outlived a lot of friends, coworkers, cousins. I like the idea of a potlatch. You have a big party and give away things. Maybe we can all do one together. 😂
You keep going. God gave you this body and you have work to do.He gave me a homeless kitten 1.5 years ago to care for and I don't have a home. Keep doing your good work. Ignore outside influences. Pray and receive His word.
❤ I’m listening to you with so many mixed emotions . 2023 has brought me such changes . A milestone 75 Th B’Day has come my way . HAnother milestone A 50 TH Wedding Anniversary and the loss of the love of my Life within a month and being all alone . The Celebration of Life and Gratefulness for having that LOVE ❤️ for half a Century. But yet I weigh in with such a heavy heart ❤️ that it’s almost unbearable.
You’re so sweet to even be humble enough to see it as bragging. But as a UA-camr myself….I feel as thought you should celebrate. It’s a major accomplishment and inspiration to others. Be blessed
You are right. No one will talk about it. I have a niece who is like a daughter to me and she will talk about it. So I made a list of my special thing and who gets them and gave it to my niece. She will see that they get these things.
they are setting up one heck of a welcome home party for the time whenever you pas on. you can call genesis medical and get a free cremation and a &600+ donation on your behalf to your choislce of charity. that is what we are doing. until then we enjoy every day with our kids , gks, ggks, and friends.death isn’t scary to us. we have sone our estate planning.
I feel the same way, I will be with the Lord, what do I care? Secretly, I hope my brother who controls everything but me has to handle it because I surely didn't. He can control me to his hearts content! I know that is bad, but I'm wearing a smirky grin right now... Lindy, its just stuff. Bless someone with things you know they'd love to have. Go to your storage unit and do a subscriber give away video 25k milestone. I'm sure people would pay for the shipping. Celebrate your life by sharing your nostalgic memories with those who would love to have it!
I've had three loved ones die in the last month or so, I've had death on my mind too. Kaitlyn Doughty (sp?) has a good channel regarding the good death, etc. Ive found it comforting.
I enjoy your videos and honesty. We need to talk about those things. If we're not laughing...we would be crying....Life is short....ENJOY IT.❣️❣️🎂🎂. Anne Marie
When my mom passed 40 years ago she donated her body to the medical school in Missouri. After they did their studies, she was cremated and gave her back to the family. My daughter-in-laws mom has donated her for when she goes, I’m older than her. I’m thinking of doing it too.
Love your videos!! I'm right there with you along this journey. Had 2 of my 5 grandchildren here last month & helped me clean out 2 rooms of treasures. My granddaughter took home 2 carloads & grandson, the minimalist, took home 2 items. And I had so much fun with them. Priceless!! My suggestion for your treasures; have a sort of raffle. I'd love watching this. Have subscribers send in their name, address, phone number and a small fee (that will help pay shipping coasts). Give them 2 weeks, a month whatever you choose, to get their enteries in, then draw a winner. Do each items this way. They only have to enter on the items they like. You can even share stories on each item and this can be video content, as well as letting us stroll down Memory Lane with you. Think about it.
Have you ever seen the Jeffmara podcast on UA-cam? Its a lot of near death experiences. People have some really interesting stories of the abundant love they feel on the otherside and no physical pain. A few guests have darker stories but the majority of people pronounced dead who come back with experiences are no longer afraid of death but say we dont die, we just change realms.
I am right there with you Lindy. ..by the way i switched my name instead of my regular name..finally figured out how to do it..anyway..all my life i have sat and just thought....never spoke much..just thinking ..lol my mom always said "penny for your thoughts cindy- lindy"..i think its kinda cool to have found your channel..cause of your name..lindy..anyway.. .. so hence my new name in you tube...anyway...My grandparents are both gone, my mom passed at age 66, my brother passed at age 49, my sister passed away at age 67, my aunts and uncles are all gone. I am literally the last remaining relative in my immediate family ( that I grew up with)... I am in my mid 60's. I tell all my grandchildren, my husband and my niece's i'm old 😂.... heres an idea..have your son and grandchildren,nieces,etc.. pick out the things they like..to just give you ideas of their interests.....i knew a woman at our church., Velma was her name...she collected lots n lots of tea pots...when she passed away her family discovered she had placed little slips of paper into each teapot telling family which child of hers, grandchild, nieces, nephews got each teapot. She kept all her teapots high up on shelves going around her kitchen...they were all thrilled that Velma had thought of them. 😊 we are allowed to go doen memory lane..its good therapy
Probably all the chemicals in our food. Hope your Well Lindy! I been working on my van lately but havent ended my lease yet cause its not ready. Maybe Ill come visit when I do.
Hi before you die it's important your right with God and have peace you know where your going....It makes death so much easier and not scary, since you'll be with the Lord... Blessings
My Aunt used to say "getting old is not for sissies!" 🙏🙏💞
Isn't that true!!!
I'm 74 and I lost several in 2018. Then lost my best friend in Feb 2019. Lost my new best friend in Jan of this year 2 days before her bday. No More! I'm using and wearing everything 😂
Seeing all the things she never used from towels to clothes to shoes to home decorations and even money, that she could have enjoyed while she was living, really opened my eyes.

Mom and dad are your age and still going better than I am lol
Happy birthday 🎈🎂
btw: My son's birthday is Saturday as well ❤
He's a Leo too. Strong personality
I forgot it was my birthday. 😂.
I’ve outlived a lot of friends, coworkers, cousins.
I like the idea of a potlatch. You have a big party and give away things. Maybe we can all do one together. 😂
😂 u r so cute Lindy 🥰 luv ya 🙏❤️🇨🇦
You keep going. God gave you this body and you have work to do.He gave me a homeless kitten 1.5 years ago to care for and I don't have a home. Keep doing your good work. Ignore outside influences. Pray and receive His word.
I wrote a twice long message before this one, but youtube deleted it. Lucky you.
I lost my brother, sister and mother within 10 months and my daddy 2 years later I've been 'death cleaning' for the past 3 years
❤ I’m listening to you with so many mixed emotions .
Right there with you I am the only one left from my immediate family. I am 68 and my youngest sibling passed this April.
Sorry Delores
You’re so sweet to even be humble enough to see it as bragging. But as a UA-camr myself….I feel as thought you should celebrate. It’s a major accomplishment and inspiration to others. Be blessed
Thank you so much!!
Definitely celebrate 100K
You are right. No one will talk about it. I have a niece who is like a daughter to me and she will talk about it. So I made a list of my
special thing and who gets them and gave it to my niece. She will
see that they get these things.
they are setting up one heck of a welcome home party for the time whenever you pas on.
you can call genesis medical and get a free cremation and a &600+ donation on your behalf to your choislce of charity. that is what we are doing. until then we enjoy every day with our kids , gks, ggks, and friends.death isn’t scary to us. we have sone our estate planning.
You are the sweetest and very interesting person.
I enjoy listening to you so much❤
Oh thank you!
You are an absolute joy Lindsey ❤
God bless ans protects you.
That's what I am thinking
Cremation is $3,500 in this area .

That is happening to me right now it’s a sobering feeling
Just come across your video now i hope your ok out there plz keep safe and may god watch oner you.
You could set up a OfferUp account to sell your antiques and other stuff
Its not a brain thing, you're just having too much fun😍
Have you ever seen the Jeffmara podcast on UA-cam? Its a lot of near death experiences. People have some really interesting stories of the abundant love they feel on the otherside and no physical pain. A few guests have darker stories but the majority of people pronounced dead who come back with experiences are no longer afraid of death but say we dont die, we just change realms.
I'm 60, all of my friends are dead too.
Peace and love
