$2500 guitar for $1250... All because they manufacture in South Korea which is actually a very solid manufacturing location. Literally the only thing that separates this guitar from being a 10/10 is the fret work. The filing on the frets is not bad at all, but the bottom is a bit sharp and it does rub against your fingers when you're sliding around on the top 2 strings. If you're not a djent boi this won't affect you. I play this guitar more than my $2k Kiesel (I'm not flexing, I'm just demonstrating the insane value and quality of this guitar). If anyone reads this overly long paragraph, don't hesitate to pick this baby up. I don't even think it's an exaggeration to say this is the highest value guitar you can get above the $1k mark.

The idea of switching between active and passive sounds cool in principle, but I don't notice a strong sound difference, just a drop-off in volume with the passive settings... 🤔

Thank you! With the stock strings that were on it, it was hard retain tension for Drop A, so usually I use a 10-46 set for the first 6 string and a 62 for the low A. Hope that helps!

I have the same guitar but having difficulties with having clear sound due to long scale I guess. The HX Stomp tones which are working my other 6 string guitars sounds too different with long scale 7 string guitar. Quite muddy and too much sustain which is hard to get bright tones ...I Dont know how to get tight tones..I guess I need to tweak the tone but how to blend it to catch tight modern metal sound any advise ? Shall I add compression, noise gate etc
Hmmm, interesting! Usually I find that a longer scale length gives me a tighter tone. Something that might help is to try to dial in a brighter tone! Try to mess with the treble and presence of whatever amp you're using in HX Stomp. why is there such a volume drop when you go to voice 2? and your sls is the standard ceramic and alnico right? love all the videos u made on the fluence btw, no one else doing it the way you are. maybe you can add the fluence single coils strat and tele to the comparison videos along with the classic humbucker 3rd voice single coil and see how that compares to the fluence single coils.
There's a big volume drop because the active voicing has so much more output than the passive voicing. I was thinking about level matching the clean sounds, but that's not a true representation of what the pickups are doing to an amp's clean channel. And yep, it comes with the ceramic in the bridge and alnico in the neck! Thank you so much for the kind words. In my opinion, the Fishman Fluence Moderns are way better than the EMG 81/85 set. The Moderns are like the perfect pickup if you're going for that active sound without all the baggage. They don't sound super compressed and have a lot of Dynamic range to them. Not to mention that you're able to switch between two voices with those pickups. The first 6 strings are in standard tuning (.10-.46) and the 7th is dropped to an A (.62), so Drop A tuning! That string gauge is the perfect tension for me on a 7-string guitar with a 26.5" scale length. Hope that helps!

I see often times that a lot of people like to use .9s for 7-string guitars, but that felt just a tad too light for my taste especially for playing leads. However, I use a .62 for my low A and I know plenty of guys that like to go much thicker than that. I say experiment and see what you like!

Personally, that's hardly a deal breaker for me. I have a Reaper-6 FR that's my main axe these days that has a nice contour and when I play the C-7 SLS Elite, I do miss it, but I'm equally okay without it! I hope that helps. How have you found the tuning stability on this? I purchased a Solo II Custom a few weeks ago (with this being an agonizingly close second) and have loved everything except having to re-tune constantly. They both have the EB nut, but different headstocks and tuning post placement, so was wondering if you have had any of the same issues? Killer review man, thank you!!
I have a Solo-II and this exact C-7. I haven‘t had any tuning instabilities at all. I don‘t know what you‘re doing wrong, mate…I could drop both from the roof of my house and they would still be perfectly in tune.

@@realniter Yeah it should all be symmetrical. Maybe what you're feeling is the 12"-16" compound fretboard radius? I hope that helps!
