3:33 "oh this is how the body shape is modified" No. the 00-12-28, is a modern repro of the Martin 0028 guitar first named as such in 1898. That IS the original design! It has NOT been stretched in comparison with the 0028 14 fret - that was REDUCED in body length to allow for the 14 fret access (why you would want that for a "rhythm" neck design (made for tenor banjo players), has always confused me. The slotted headstock is a far more ergonomic design, and is more complicated to create, which is why the less ergonomic "slab" headstock was introduced.
Quinton = Guitar Slayer - Well done brother...I don't know that I've ever heard a better test play on a guitar of that size in a very long time!
Just a wonderful sounding guitar
It’s interesting how differently Martin and Taylor execute 12-fret models. Martin stretches the body up and Taylor moves the bridge down. The approaches yield different sounds. See the old Acoustic Letter video comparing the 000-15SM vs the 322 12-Fret. I settled on the Martin.
Sounds a bit different than my 00-12-28: my top is not torrified, not slotted headstock, not a carbon fiber Bridge plate. Thanks Quinton and Paul!
00 size, 12 fret, style 28 - This may be my favorite of the Modern Deluxe series; just a little more of everything nice than the size 0 version. Giving me GAS!!!
Me too, but I’ve got chronic GAS. It’s debilitating for my wallet and charge card!
Lovely sound
Love to hear Quinton play 12 fretters, fantastic feel and tone. I have a Martin OO28 Vts 12 fret, slotted headstock also I have an OM28 deep body slotted headstock, both
Sound and play superb. I wonder if a OO28 14 fret deep body slotted headstock would be the ideal guitar as I am now 76 years old, and find my Dreadnoughts a bit of
an armful what do you think Quinton ?
I really like the 12 fret guitars. Not sure about the slotted headstock, though. They are very comfortable. Thanks, Quinton.
Lovely guitar but as mentioned before they took the 12freter and cut off the body. So other way around than you describe.
I wish that you had put the 12-28 up against the 00-28 Modern Deluxe that you guys demoed earlier.
"Big Projection from a Small Guitar"...
Please consider this as constructive feedback. Commercials for smaller body guitars often highlight the 'big' sound despite their compact size. Allow me to clarify once and for all: opting for a small body guitar is an intentional choice, not a compromise! I adore small body guitars because they typically offer quick response, perfect for fingerstyle playing, and they're easier to manipulate in terms of tone compared to larger guitars. Additionally, I appreciate the focused and articulate tone that comes naturally with the smaller size of the top. Therefore, there's no need to suggest that this guitar sounds great "despite" its small body. It's akin to saying that despite a car's small size, it has ample space inside - which isn't the case. People opt for smaller cars because they desire something more compact and maneuverable. Similarly, guitarists choose smaller guitars because they desire the unique sound they offer.

By the way, I LOVE this Martin 🥰.
sounds amazing!! and i normally don't like the sound of non dread sizes, this one hits different. nice review guys.
"this is where all the money is at," great Quiton quote!
Martin names the body size/shape and other details before the 28: the last number is always the level of wood and ornamentation,
If it was 00 28/12 it would appear to be a twelve string?
00 12 28 modern deluxe vs custom shop mahogany 000 12 fret?
00-28 all day long!
Wow
My dream guitar is an 0 18 I had a stretched 000 15sm but prefer the regular shape .. I can't afford the 0 18 there $6500 here in NZ but to get the small body I bought a Shaun mendez 000 jnr which is all solid less than a 3rd the price and sounds terrible ha I'm hanging in there it's like a new pair of Dr martins there only comfortable if you wear and live in them for years... I'm sticking to it 😊
i was gonna buy the Shawn mendes 000jr. you saying its really bad?
@@MrFunkynoel I think it's good but it needs a lot of wearing in like a pair of Dr Martin boots... They say the first day you play a new guitar is the worst it will sound... Unless I get an 018 one day I'll keep it for a long time...
Oh man, that one sold fast.
一度は手にしてみたい、Guitarですね。

Does the nut width feel substantially wider or does it feel similar to a 1_3/4". I know theses guitars are 1_13/16". Does the neck make it feel a little narrower ?
Feels wider for sure. Still very playable though!
I prefer the look and better still the sound of the 0028
Thankfully, both options are available for purchase.
@@johnwashburn3793 including the new 0028 Modern Deluxe!
I have never played one and I don't know what comment you're referring to. I think that this is a fine guide. I typically play Adirondack over mahogany and a classic, old school, chunky neck. My CEO-7 and D-18GE are fine. I am willing to purchase a rosewood, but perhaps my wife is not.
Actually I am considering a resonator at present. @@gosman949
Cannot stand listening to people interrupt and talk over eachother.
I could have gotten the Martin 00015 sm with slotted head stock but it will take 4 mos to have it delivered to gc fr Nazareth P btw it took a week to get my om28 that some mos ago…this ax 0012 28❤🎉
