@TheBombHole I thought the boot talk was really great! I'm a boot fitter that primarily works with ski boots but I only snowboard. The ski boot industry is definitely a little more dialed with different volume levels in one size, as well as providing the last measurement on each boot. Also, Technica ski boots has been using gel bladders around the j bar area so you can add or subtract gel to form to the person's foot as well as changing the flex. As far as snowboard boot tongues, I think the best are a mid to full pack tongue. If it fits them out of the box, perfect. If not, it's super easy to make an incision on the tongue and take out some foam to make the tongue lay better. I just feel like it's easier to go in and remove some foam as opposed to adding foam to a thin tongue. Just my 2¢! Love hearing where the industry can get better, especially on a customer service level.
Weird how no one ever says whistler with the best places to shred question. World class pow/backcountry terrain where all pros travel to film back country parts. World class parks on both mountains. Shiiiit loads of inbound and slack country terrain and dooope ass apres party vibes. 🇨🇦
Banked slalom at Saddleback in Maine is on 3/16, snow is good, could use a little refresh but about to be 100pecent open with a little surprise from the terrain parks
bought my last pair of boots 4 or 5 years ago, 32 tm3 bone zone edition, they are the stiffest most uncomfortable boot ive ever worn (i didnt know what i didnt know). i took the liner out and replaced them with my old Burton ones and was instantly better, but i suffer every time i ride because i cant afford to "take a chance" on a different boot, maybe next year or something
Rene did a fakie sideways double backflip tweaked to the absolute max. I’m surprised Chris couldn’t keep up with that as the encyclopedia of tricks he is. Enjoyed the chat 🤘
I don’t know why not more people ride stiffer boots with softer bindings? I rode the Ride fuse with Union contact pros, That setup was super responsive when you wanted it but with some play in the beginning of the movement. And the boot last for ages.
Gren D, we have a Race Tech Rant....now we need a Rider's Rant! Every episode needs to have a rant segment , at least from you if not everyone in the booth, 30-45 second rant!!!
Todd dont get me started on boots for splitboarding!! Why are they all so heavy and bulky? Best feeling boots are the ones for powsurfing but too loose for reg riding
"Is core snowboarding lost?".....first off, the term is corny as all fuck. Now with that being said, BEING a core rider is fuckin dope and anyone who is a "core" rider will never mention it let alone question it. I just got blessed AGAIN and jus got back home in upstate NY from spending a week at Brighton... (I couldn't not go back, especially after going there for the first time last year and it just so happened to be towards the end of January 🙏🏽)...if you wanna see "core" snowboarding absolutely THRIVING...go stand in that parking lot at 7am and take a look around!!! That fucking absolute gem of a mountain holds special place in my heart and I only have a total of 13 days there over the last 365 days...so if you have to ask yourself "is core snowboarding lost" ....you never knew it existed. Like Concrete Sneaks said, it's absolutely thriving!!!! Possibly more than ever
😂😂😂😂 and like Sneaks said, AGAIN, go stand in Brighton's lot at 7am and take a look around. It's 2 hours before the lifts even open but one thing is for sure....you won't be the only person there. Something about crushing 7am pubs while staring at Milly and the garden...with that being said, it fucking SUCKS at Brighton and you honestly probably shouldn't waste your time and if you wanna get the most bang for your buck, hit up Alta, trust me, you won't be disappointed!!!🍻🍻💯💯
So tired of pro snowboarders being asked how to make snowboarding more accessible to common people. I have been snowboarding for 28 years every year it gets harder. The housing, the wages, the medical care, the grocery stores. Enjoy your Louis Vuitton bullshit! Ridiculous
Gotta say, I’m all about the group chat eps!! So good!
Hyped to hear that, thanks for tuning in!
Same!
Agreed! Love all the perspective that comes out of these
Russell's "YEEEEEAAACK" belongs on that soundboard grendies!
We gotta get the Helgasons on the B Hole
Working to get more international riders in the studio!
would be all time
100%
"In the era that I come from snowboarding (tricks) was really monitored by the core of snowboarding."
- Russel
I relate.
Blake’s take on IG reality and the danger for kids should be it’s own TED talk. So on point!
What Russell says about the perfect day snowboarding hit me hard! That’s what it’s all
About
There's needs to be a boarderstyle/slopecross whatever u wanna call it type of event that combines boarder cross with some slopestyle hits
Blake got that K2/Ride pharma money now

Stoked to share Todd's boot debacle to open up the conversation about boot fit and get rad responses like yours!
Yea Russ! I’ve been there in that rainy ditch along with ya. 🎉. More kids needs to experience scenarios like this. 1:30:00
Taxwood ‘s hi country and hellbound boots are the best I’ve ever ridden.

That 900's rant was priceless.
Todd Richards is SO on point 🔥
Vans Liner-less is on to something, just need to address the heel lift 👌
Minnesota hot laps is easily the best place to snowboard.
Banked slalom at Saddleback in Maine is on 3/16, snow is good, could use a little refresh but about to be 100pecent open with a little surprise from the terrain parks
Loving that long form Group Chat ❤
I can't wait to hear the follow up from Todd. I'm struggling with the same issues.
He's got some updates on his Instagram for those following Todd's boot saga! (Find his Instagram linked in the show notes)
Groups chats better than solo interviews now days, with exceptions
We're stoked on both! Nice to have a Group Chat with the squad to follow up an insightful episode like Bud Keene's!
I love the nerd talk on the boot situation in snowboarding. I still have yet to find a boot that is as good as my Forum boots from ~2006 .
bought my last pair of boots 4 or 5 years ago, 32 tm3 bone zone edition, they are the stiffest most uncomfortable boot ive ever worn (i didnt know what i didnt know). i took the liner out and replaced them with my old Burton ones and was instantly better, but i suffer every time i ride because i cant afford to "take a chance" on a different boot, maybe next year or something
"Does nitro know about this?"
"Yeah i called little Jeff""
I cant be the only one dying at how this interaction happened lmfao
Don't worry we called Jeff, he's down haha
Thanks Sam for being the boss!

Boot talk was great too. X Boot Brand should get Todd a desk.
Blake is the man. I hope he really got all the zeros 🔥
Love these
Every snowboard company should listen to Russ. They can make that board, but they don''t want.
Zeb does have a few "parts" in the old SpotHeads movies - if you havent seen them, do yourself a favor.
Gren D, we have a Race Tech Rant....now we need a Rider's Rant! Every episode needs to have a rant segment , at least from you if not everyone in the booth, 30-45 second rant!!!
In quebec we don't got the best snow we got the best ice in the world rn
Just started watching, a few minutes in. Concerned that there was no check in with Silk D.
23:45. Okay, mystery solved.
Have no fear, Silk was just out sick for this one, but he did edit this whole thing!
Chris’ next part to “make em say ughhh”.
If Sam’s part in brown didn’t make you want to buy a nitro you’re blown it. 🔥
Sam really kicks it off with that ATV opening part in Knights of the Brown Table
I agree. I have to have a soft boot and they're not easy to find
check out the K2 taro tamai boot. super high end features with a soft flex
@@jstone18 a real soft boot? Cuz those pups are $600. I've gambled on plenty of "soft" boots and ended up with foot binding torture devices
its the real deal! premium fit and features with a soft flex. you should track some down to try on!@@brucelynd5669
"shark pit" 🤣🤣🤣
The Book of Eli all the way. Always love Russel.
Grendys reppin the Doo hat.. did he get his dream sponsor??
Todd dont get me started on boots for splitboarding!! Why are they all so heavy and bulky? Best feeling boots are the ones for powsurfing but too loose for reg riding
Fuck yeah, Russ with the Star Trek references!
Dude this vid is just a big fact
Why not just drive over the boots like KJ?

Alright welcome to group chat number 6 presented by the best smelling salts

preach Todd.
Fuck I wanna know which insta post Sam was causing beef on 😂

Smaller resorts would help with access but mega resorts are pushing them out :/
