I fell in love with it when the photos were first released. I took delivery of the first level 3 (ABS) that arrived at my local dealer. I absolutely love my new 40th anniversary Goldwing!
Not sure where you figure 35k for it. And sure it's the same ole 1800 but the two tone looks so much better. Which I why I own a level two 40th and I only paid $20,750 for mine.
+Eddie B. Add a true overdrive, aka a 6th gear, an electric windshield, make satellite radio, traction control, and gps standard... then charge more for the airbag model. One of the first bikes i ever owned was a 83 gl1100. I loved that bike. I bought it used with a matching trailer. I put many miles on that, and as the years went by. I yearned for the 1800. I finally gave in in september of 2013, and bought a new one. I was thrilled and still really do like it, but it's just plain embarassing at times that a harley has better electronics... and electric windshields are standard on bikes almost half the cost. And it's assinine that in today's day and age a GPS/sattelite model would cost thousands of dollars more. But I don't think i'll have to worry about spending any more money on another wing, this one ought to last my lifetime. And another side note, I purchased mine late on a friday, they even stayed after to finish the paperwork. I thought that was pretty cool. The dealership was about 2 1/2 hours away, so saturday morning there were going to prep it, and I was going to pick it up by noon when they closed. Monday I already had a trip planned to ride from NY to MO, for my nephews boot camp graduation. Come to find out they never connected the seat and grip heaters. and the Aux cord that was shipped in the owners manual from honda was never found. When I stopped at a dealer in MO, they fixed the heated seats/grip. and informed me about the aux cable. I called the Dealer i purchased it from back in NY asking about the AUX cable... THEY LIED about it not coming with the bikes after 2010. So I spent the $30 or $35 for it. I've never been back to that dealer again, I've found a great honda shop 40 miles down the road with a true veteran Goldwing mechanic.. He's incredible, and trouble times are ahead, with the economy and his tenure they are doing everything they can to get him to quit... even went as far as taking away his 2 weeks vacation.. Sad times
Pathetic...Honda wants about $35K for this? This is all that they can come up with for the 40th anniversary? It hardly has any chrome on it, and try to keep that exhaust system black, it will go all grey when it gets dirty. How sad, nothing innovative, just some colouring and some cheap badges for the 40th anniversary, I say fire all the Honda executives and get some young blood working at Honda. The Goldwing should have come standard with ABS brakes, electrically adjustable windshield, 6th gear and much more.

If you ride mostly solo and like to stretch out a bit, consider the F6B instead.
