I've watched Jamie for years now. I can't believe how upset I was seeing the rotator get smashed like that. Don't give up Jamie, keep fighting. The best show on TV. Every crash, I go through how I would recover and tow the wreck, wishing I was doing the jog myself! Glad you are ok Jamie. Great friends you have there.

@@George-dy3pt wasn't it refit though? Even watching the current video the comment Jamie himself makes "everything is brand new" when they flashback to the episode when they got it. When he picked it up it didn't come directly from Los Angeles either. They also had some measurement issues importing it into Canada, due to the overall length. I remember watching this episode when it came out dude. Pretty sure the truck was brand new and the rotator itself is what came from the LA fire department, but I could be backwards.
This is not the same rotator. The one he bought new work in Alberta oil filds. It was HR 59

I am glad Jamie is OK. He will eventually recover emotionally and move on. The most important thing is he is fine.

It is honestly too much drama. But it is good to see that Jamie Davis wasn't hurt in the crash. He really is a good guy.

He uploaded a video to UA-cam a couple of months ago, showing it in the shop and his plans to rebuild it.
Glad Jamie is ok and i know he will do what is needed to repair his rotater to get his prized iron back to work again
Jamie will rebuild. As long as the frame is ok. Fortunately for Jamie, that model Pete is not as popular, so he should be able to pick up another parts truck fairly cheap. Glad he was ok.

He should have stayed stuck,taking a truck out in that field (especially a DODGE)!!!! You think he learned a lesson?? I don’t believe that pickup cost that much also, especially a Dodge.
Buying a new truck can't help to avoid that idiots dumbness to drive in there..
No matter what happens Jamie we’re all with you. I’ve been watching you for years now and I started watching you on UA-cam fantastic you guys are awesome. It takes a lot of courage and a lot of knowledge to do the work that you all do and to see your rotator get damaged and you being knocked out it’s pretty nerve-wracking for everybody watching all we know is that everything will be all right and you will get your rotator on the road again just know that we all care about you and everyone that does these jobs

One good thing is this the rotator can be repaired and be almost like it was before! But can't say the same thing for a human being especially if they lose any part of their body it makes things more difficult to relearn! To Jamie Davis you had to have guardian angels watching over you!
Jamie,I've been watching the show a long time .The rotator can be fixed, get examined by a Doc, you were knocked unconscious, don't be a hero,your family needs you. You could have a concussion, watching c h for changing vision,and headaches .
Rotator will be back Brianna and Jr. are filming the restoration go to their channel they have photos.

I have watch some Pepes from the LA area it is almost allways Sunny and Bright and 90% mud free and then You get watching some Hiway Thru Hell and it is almost always a cold Hell with Snow or Mud up the Neck , Wonder how long the Guys from LA would last on the Hiway Thru Hell, Just Amazing Work One & All Real Work ! Have a very close friend that put that rig in service and was assigned to it with LA city for years before it was retired, he just sent me photos of it when it was new and some of the fire department recoveries that he did with it hope you guys get here back on the road.
Hate to see anyone involved in an accident. Even though I left the wrecker business years ago, I'm still a trucker. Thankfully no one got hurt. Equipment can be replaced, people can't.

Shocked at the pickup truck recovery that a drop hitch was used as the tow point! Lucky it didn't break and go flying back at the tow truck.

This episode make me sad because Jamie's LA Rotator HR56 was involved in a multiple vehicle crash (South of Avola BC, Highway 5 - 08.01.2023)
I agree. But it could have been so much worse! Just thankful he wasn’t hurt. But since he said he blacked out, he should have gotten medical attention. Just my opinion

It took 25 years for me to have a Real accident, shook me to the core. Got back behind the wheel after 4months but my heart wasn't in it after that. Glad Jamie made it home too

I've never pulled the cable off the drum but, I always carried the tools to put it back on. When I was being taught, I was always told to leave no less than 5 wraps on the drum.
It’s on every winch ever made. At least 5 wraps.
The reality is it wasn't that kids fault, if there are 2 men on the job it is always the responsibility for the man at the truck to watch the drum and lock it in before too many wraps are taken off the drum... not on the guy 150 feet out in a field to guess how much is left.
Meah, it was a setup for the cameras, winch lines have a clamp on the bitter end, you can't just pull them off the drum like that.
@marvindebot3264 yes you can. Some of the winch drums only have a wedge that holds the cable in and can slip out if all the cable is pulled out
@@marvindebot3264 false most modern winches have a set screw and that is it. Wire rope goes through a hole and a set screw clamps it, very easily pulled out of that hole.
Glad Jamie is OK. The rotator can be fixed and hopefully it will co.e back better than ever
I really do like this show as well and its like ice road truckers with big heavy wreckers going out with the big rigs when they need help

I hated watching those young guys (AJ & Jamie JR) tow that pick-up out of the bog by hooking the tow straps over the tow ball. Take the timeto remove the towball or hook somewhere underneath but NEVER use a towball. They are known to let go and kill people.
These guys are known to be unsafe allegedly😂 he lost his contracts with AMA for being unsafe didn’t last long at all in Edmonton
I agree I’d rather see a shackle, but that tow ball probably has a 15000plus working load and a breaking strength of two to three times that. They break when some dummy decides to use a tow strap or kinetic rope and a dynamic recovery and the shock load is what snaps them . That pick up is capable over pulling 20000 lbs or more so heavy thing is strong enough.

@@heavyhauler213 better still, put a proper, rated for toeing hitch in the receiver and use a rated bow or soft shackle. No headache, no heartache.

You'd think that they'd tie that flatbed delivery truck that went over the edge to tree across the road with some chains/strap/binder rather than relying on someone to hold the brake! Not exactly safe if the breaks fail.

Trucks can be repaired or replaced, the important thing is that Jamie got out safe and the only thing really injured was his wallet.

You should never pull from the ball, It could break n fly towards the source of the pull. Remove the reciever or at least the ball then use a clevis.
My guess is that this young fella needs to learn from somebody that really knows what's going on and I really hope he is not feeling bad for a second

listen black ice is no fucking joke coming home late one night in my 1981 CJ5 in a white out snow storm following a plow truck doing probs 30-40mph nothing to fast sis was behind me as i had just pulled her out from a ditch (wind blew her right off the road) and i felt the back end let go i pressed the clutch in quick but it was to late i was sideways and headed into the ditch thank god i didnt roll it just put it in 4wd and got back on the road and went home sure did make the ass pucker
