Cost cutting with “eco friendly” reason is so cheap
SQ short haul meal is so unacceptable
But I still like their nasi lemak or nasi rendang or laksa in that tiny rice box

Wow, seeing MOMA in a SQ flight. That MOMA bottled water HQ is in Sibu, Sarawak.

Well frequent flyers, SQ wins on their fleet but MH focus on food and beverages, but wait MH in the process of upgrading their fleet coming soon for long and short haul🎉🎉🎉

SQ econ no more serving coffee tea 2nd round after meal. They did this very discreet way by serving econ meal close to 2nd half of the flight time. Save cost I guess

I would prefer the Malaysia airlines 737 to the Singapore airlines 787!

As a Malaysian citizen, I feel disappointed with the development of our airline's fleet. The lack of wide-body aircraft and limited options in the premium category is concerning. We frequently see older A330s and narrow-body B738s in service, which is disheartening. In contrast, other airlines are expanding their fleets and modernizing their offerings, making Malaysia Airlines seem to fall behind. It’s disappointing to witness this stagnation while competitors advance, leaving our national carrier lacking in both variety and innovation. The situation reflects a missed opportunity to enhance the travel experience not just for Malaysian passengers but also other travellers.

@POWER3482, thank you for sharing. I can understand what you mean. Yea, there are a lot of room for improvement indeed. Let's hope that the new fleets will arrive soon.

The introduction of a new fleet is crucial, but we must also evaluate the number of aircraft and their potential effects. Malaysia Airlines currently lacks enough wide-body aircraft, which are vital for enhancing long-haul flight efficiency and passenger experience. Modern aircraft such as the 787, A350, and A330neo can significantly transform the airline’s operations. If there are concerns about lacking destinations, having extra aircraft allows for flexibility and the opportunity to explore new routes.
Consider Emirates; they operate with only two aircraft types yet achieve substantial revenue. With their first A350 soon joining the fleet, they are poised for continued success. Malaysia Airlines has encountered various challenges, and adding the 787 could be a crucial step forward. These advanced aircraft can handle long flights-up to 18 hours-showing their potential for routes from Kuala Lumpur. Investing in modern aircraft is essential for revitalizing Malaysia Airlines and enhancing its competitive stance in the global market.

In terms of food, i had to be fair, MH was better. However, in ter,ms of aircraft, SQ wins big time! Also the lack of perosnal TV on MH, using smaller aircraft, feels like budget airlines to me.

Yeah i have to agree with you, i mean noodles are nice, but i much prefer malaysia Airlines, as they serve customers with rice and bread, i would be happier with that than noodles, but again, singapore airlines is still kinda a better airline, i remember they were serving beef on board from Adelaide to SG and also chicken, so it Actually depends on how long the flight from A to B so since the 787 is a big airplane so it might reach bali faster, But again Disappointed for Singapore Air

As someone who rode both planes in the same route
I can compare both of them
And I admit, there’s really no winners here
Why, SQ the food sucks too much, that last flight to Australia is the last I can stand with them, the seats kinda hard (you can only feel it at 8+ hours), although, you can’t really complain on Free wifi for Krisflyer members and In flight entertainment
In MH case, The food is delicious (although I only recommend eating the fish), I don’t usually use entertainment as I only interested in Music
But my taste can’t be compared to others as I don’t like the food to be extremely hot and wet
Idk why people care about IFE, it’s not like there’s any good movies to watch, at least to me

MH meat looks cheap as always and honestly never tastes good.
SQ always presents different kinds of meals even short flights they make an effort.

SQ planes are getting worse, but still better than MH most of the time. SQ Econ food, ticket prices, shitty insincere crew sucks big time. SQ truly hates Econ passengers. To each his own
