nice review. My tube amp was getting a bit unreliable, so I bought this DV mark micro 50 II (not the CMT with a minitube),, It is really bassy.. I have an open back with an eminence GB128 (8 ohm speaker) and I need to run the bass at 9 oclock.. any louder this fairly loose speaker (no doping) gets out of control in the low end.. The GB128 is rich on low mids, and I find that i need to dial the mids down to 10 oclock,, and increase the treble to 3 oclock. Now the sound is balanced. I could go higher on the mid knob with a celestion 70/80 which has more emphasis on high mids than lower mids. (the center freq. on the mid knob seems low like 400-500Hz). I have seen a video with a pro guitarist playing the DV mark amp live with pedals. He was using 2 of DV marks own lightweight 2x12 cab for a total of 4 ohms (60watt) through 4 12 inch speakers.. He mentioned it could get really loud.. But 60watts through 4x12 are loud. :-) His EQ was bass = 11 oclock, mids 1 o'clock, and treble at 2 oclock. DV marks own 150Watt neodynium speakers are very tight in the low end,, clear scooped mids (not smooky woody mids of say a celestion creamback 65) and plenty of treble. The direct opposite of my eminence GB128 which is very dark and woody.
The DV Mark Micro 50 is really bassy as well. But you can dial it down, so i didn't find it a problem! :D I don't have much experience in a lot of different cabinets. I can hear the difference in them when i play them, but the name of the speaker have never interested me. So it's nice with a bit of information like that. Thank you for you comment mate!
Hi - nice review and playing! You mentioned in the description, you (may) own the latest version CMT 60 as well. Is there any difference sonically? Which one would you recommend? Thx.
Hello mate! Thank you for the kind words. Sorry if i had it seem like i owned the CMT 60. Unfortunately i do not. I'm working on it though, but for now, i cannot answer your question 😔
Very Nice of you Björn! Or is it Bjørn? 😄 I Recently sold the CMT 50 cause i just moved and needed the money... Even though i love that amp.. Im gonna miss it. Had some great gigs with that one!
Nice tone, did you used a load box or you can plug the speaker output in a line level ir loadrer maybe with di box is there a way to do that, because i want to buy this amp but no so much information on that i 'll appreciate your answer thanks
1:44 Playing starts cleans 10:06 Crunch tones 12:30 Overdrive tones 15:28 Jam Out Nice amp but where are the high gain tones? Can it be used for heavier music?
Haha hi Ivan ❤️ There's NO hi gain in the amp itself. If you have pedals to push it into that territory i'm sure it would handle that quite well 😄 And with all the bottom end in this amp im pretty sure it would chuck away!
@@ivanchertov6630 I mean, the heaviest you get on this is as heavy as a tubescreamer might get. So i'd say no. Unless you have a pedal board that allows you to go heavy, i would go with another amp! :D
@@resqgear1918Yes! Yes I mean... I mean JAAAAZZ ! 😂 Anyway it's a good demo. For a lower budget I wanted to get me a Joyo Bantamp serie but it will be this DV mark head for home and more. I just sold my DV Mark Little Jazz and yes, its more than a good brand. The spectral range will be better in a Celestion vintage than with a Joyo I'm pretty sure. Does it sound good withe headphones?
Sounds great! Nice review.
Thank you mate! 😍

I emailed DV MARK. and they say that there is no difference between the CMT 50 and the newer CMT 60 besides cometics..

I may ask dum. What is it, a pedal or a audio interface
Thats not a stupid question at all Alex! A pedal is the effects i use on my guitar. The little boxes. And audio interface translates to = lydkort! 😄

Oh yes, depends on the headphones.
