Merlin's G24 Myrton is a military style motorcycle boot that has got a lot going for it. Its outer layer is constructed from a 4mm thick premium cowhide, tough as nails and put together with double stitching throughout. Underneath the leather, a reinforced footbed, heel and toe cups are combined with D3O ankle protection. The Myrton is higher than most similar boots in our range and grips your feet and ankles in all the right places. If you're looking for a highly protective motorcycle boot that still looks casual, the Myrton is it.
But what good is a casual looking boot if you can't walk around in it? Fret not, the Myrton is comfortable out of the box and will hardly take any wearing in. The D3O ankle protection is renowned for being flexible and soft, until it gets hit at which point it instantly hardens to absorb and disperse the impact. A padded flex panel above the heel, padded collar and tongue are combined with a mesh inner lining that makes these boots soft and comfortable to wear all day long. The boot laces up all the way to the collar, yet is easily accessed through the full length zip on the side.
That full length zip has a gusset sitting behind it, because on top of all of the above, the Myrton is equipped with a Hipora triple membrane system that makes this boot fully waterproof yet breathable to keep your feet cozy and dry.
Merlin managed to put all of this functionality in a boot yet kept it lightweight and (did we mention?) comfortable. At this price point, the Myrton is a no-brainer if you're after a capable riding boot.

3 months of ownership - solid performance, surprisingly light weight so all day comfortable, subtle enough for the office under riding chinos, post apocalyptic if worn with tucked in cargo pants. Subjected to my standard heap of dubbin from new and 100% waterproof so far. Very happy with them.

Just got a pair today. They are solid and flexible. The zip makes them very easy to put on. Awesome.
Update: really also helps if you have a heavy bike. You feel a lot more grounded with these boots.

Great looking boots, good pricing.. however I cant understand why Merlin did not built an extra layer of shifting pad on it. I know that it wants to look casual as possible but that would not ruin the look at all (just look at the TCX Hero), but would reinforce the critical area... Its not a deal breaker but a bit disappointing
