@@craigcox1309 Well some of us have models from 2 years ago that have sleeves- that's why she's asking. My model looks exactly like this one, has a sleeve, and was uninstalled more recently than this video was made.
@@lionessathena8679My system also has a quartz sleeve and it just pulls straight up just like the bulb. I stuck a clean rag tied to a string dipped in a bleach solution to clean the inside, wiped off the outside, rinsed it really well and put it back in. I also did the rag thing inside the system chamber and rinsed that very well too. Just be careful you don't lose any of the o-ring gaskets or the thing will leak like it did to me.😅
Very detailed demonstration, thank you! Why OEM bulbs are 100% cost more than aftermarket bulbs?, how do I know it's working after installation? Thanks!
This is a little late but how you can tell it's working is you let the system run for at least 48 hours. I let mine go a week and then do a water test for bacteria.
Shouldn't the water get turned on before turning the power back on, considering the heat of these bulbs and that they're not supposed to be operated without water in the system?
Hello, I took my bulb out to replace it, before I unplugged it I felt the canister, and it wasn’t warm at all. Even the bulb wasn’t warm. Should these be warm when working correctly?
Why are you using plastic type fittings and hoses so close to the unit? The last viqua I had it I started getting pinhole leaks because the UV was eating away at the hose. I was advised to have some kind of stainless steel piping of some sort about 9 inches away from the light with an elbow. I apologize if I’m wrong, but if you guys are going to sell these systems, you really should make it easier to obtain stainless steel tubing or whatever it is that we need to hook this upproperly. I opted for stainless elbows and extensions instead of the flex line because the flex line has rubber type seals that the UV could eat and put chemicals in my water.
Good stuff. Sure like others I bought a new house, knew nothing of this water system and just called the well company. They would charge $84 for the labor in addition to the bulb which I found on Amazon for $100.
Well also consider the off brand bulbs are from fly-by-night chinese companies that disappear and bear no traceable liability whatsoever when you contract a fecal borne illness after said lamp fails unbeknownst to the served household. Viqua cant in their right mind advertise their consumers replace the most critical piece with a lamp manufactured in (what has to be assumed) a Jiangsu residential basement with an un labeled companies quality control standards on a product they reverse engineered. For folks with Coliform tainted wells, a hundred bucks aint worth the gamble imo.
Great video, really hoping you can make a video regarding removing / cleaning the quartz sleeve.
What about showing the removal and cleaning of the quartz tube
No sleeve cleaning? Hmmm
Thanks for a great video. You demonstrated what I really wanted to know: How to match up the pin lengths to the cap. Thank you!
Do they really need changed every year? What if there is still life left in the bulb?
Can you please add a video about how to clean the sleeve, and also how to replace the sleeve?
Cathy in VIrginia the new lamps don’t have sleeves. It’s all in one

hi, should the bulb make a buzzing, or rattling sound every once in a while/not all the time
My BA-ICE-S UV controller keeps beeping even though the lamp has been replaced, what do you think is the cause?
How do you clean an iron breaker filter attached to this system?

Viqua lamps are so expensive, you could replace off brand bulbs 4x more often and still save money. How is this even possible?
